About The Owner

I grew up in Forks and have the great fortune of sharing our family's beloved, cozy cabin and this beautiful area with guests like you! We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming, clean and comfortable stay and experience from start to finish. We want you to relax and enjoy a vacation that is so well-equipped with everything you're likely to need, you can concentrate on quality time together, fun and exploring, and making memories that will last a lifetime!

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose Olympic Peninsula & Pacific Coast

A Cozy River House II is in a small river community - an ideal location to be out-of-town and at the same time be close to conveniences, as well as centrally located 30 minutes or LESS to all the great area attractions such as Olympic National Park, Hoh Rain Forest, Lake Crescent, LaPush's First Beach, Rialto Beach, Ruby Beach, Sol Duc Natural Hot Springs, waterfalls, and countless rivers for world-class fishing. With a covered back deck that overlooks the famous Sol Duc River - it's just gorgeous year-round!

What makes this house unique

Cozy 2 is just that: COZY. It's the idea size to accommodate a family, families, groups of friends or fishermen, etc., with plenty of individual sleeping beds - the Bunk Room with 5 beds is always a big hit! There's a big lawn for kids and horse shoes for the 'big kids'. It is perfect for family reunions, with A Cozy River House I just two houses down the street for larger groups. The views of the river are amazing! Fishermen love that there's a public boat launch to the river conveniently located just down the street. And one of THE BEST aspects of Cozy 2, being in the rainiest place in the U.S., Cozy 2 has a COVERED back deck - so guests can enjoy the outdoors, the wildlife along the river banks, and the river views year-round no matter what the weather brings!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for the hook-up...great place, well-stocked with all the comforts of home. We'll be back next year.

And we caught FISH!!!

I have had the pleasure of working with Julie for over 3 years now. I host fly-fishing trips to the Olympic Peninsula every year and have had nothing but a pleasant experience since the day I began doing business with Julie. She is very detail orientated, organized, personable and accommodating. She goes out of her way to make sure the guests truly enjoy their experience there and have everything they need to make that possible. The houses ( yes, there are two available to rent) are both beautiful and perfectly located on the banks of the famous SolDuc River. Wether you are there to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the cabins, hike in the rainforest, clam dig, fish or boat the Cozy River Houses are sure to surpass your needs. They and Julie are truly one of a kind and I look forward to going back every year!

Olympic National Park Getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to just hang out or use a base for the fantastic Hoh Rainforest and wild Olympic Beaches. The location is ideal What a great place to just hang out or use a base for the fantastic Hoh Rainforest and wild Olympic Beaches. The location is very private and the only thing one can hear is the lovely SolDuc River running just below the deck. And oh that deck! A barbecue grill and a metal firtion is very private and the only thing one can hear is the lovely SolDuc River running just below the deck. And oh that deck! A barbecue grill and a metal fire pit for evening campfires sitting in the comfortable outdoor couch. Both mornings we stayed there we watched an eagle fly upriver.

I visit the Forks area often and find that having a well stocked kitchen is essential when staying in or near Forks. This kitchen has everything you could possibly need for week stay or just a long weekend. If the weather should turn wet you can still sit outside and enjoy the river on the covered deck. Inside you can enjoy the comfort of a great wood stove with plenty of firewood provided.. The furnishings are top notch and the bedrooms very comfortable. Great place stay for a large family or if multi family lodging is required. This would be a great place for a retreat among friends.

Then there is Julie the owner. You will be hard pressed t find a landlord as easy to deal with! She does everything she can to make your visit a memorable one. I can not say enough about this terrific rental. I also had the pleasure to stay at Julie's other rental down the street Cozy River House 1. I would have a tough time deciding between these two rentals. I love them both. I have been a regular visitor to the Forks area for over 36 years my only regret is that I did not discover Cozy River House 1 and 2 years ago. Summer in the area is fantastic, but for me the time to consider staying is Spring and Autumn. We hope to be able to spend Thanksgiving here.

The perfect river cabin to river fish, get away with family & friends or explore the Olympic Pen.

  • 5 of 5

I have been renting the Cozy Riverhouse II cabin 3-4 times per year to take groups of 6-10 customers at a time steelhead and salmon river fishing. The drive to and approach is beautiful. The cabin sits right on the Sol Duc River in "the zone" of fishing. You can dispatch to fish 4 rivers within minutes of the cabin. The cabin is cozy with a wood burning stove. The covered deck is huge with BBQ & fire pit. Horseshoes outside. 7 people all get own beds, but can sleep more with pull-out couch, sofa and 3 of the beds are queen size. Hike the Olympic National Rain Forest, walk on the ocean beaches, see the Sol Duc Hotsprings. 7 minutes to dine in a Forks or see the town. The most important thing is that the owners take incredible care of you with excellent customer service. Booking on their website is a snap, quick easy emailed PDF invoice, meticulously clean and prepared cabin awaiting you. Contact from the owners to confirm your arrival time and to assist with any special needs, complete privacy during your stay, but immediate assistance if you need anything. Thoughtful owners there to provide 10+customer service. I rate both this cabin (Cozy Riverhouse II) as well as Cozy Riverhouse I which are both owned and operated by the same owner a 10+. Very pleased. You should definitely book and try this cabin to go fishing, hiking, ocean seeing, hunting, relaxing and just enjoying the beauty of the Olympic Peninsula.

Everything we needed and more

  • 5 of 5

Our family - three generations and 7 in all - had a great time in Olympic National Park thanks in large part to our choice of this lodging. As our granddaughters would say - awesome! The house had everything we needed and so much more. We loved the river view, the eagle who visited frequently, the fire ring perfect for smores and so much more. The the highlight for the girls was their 'adventure' down the river bank to walk on the river stones. They even conned grandma into the trip. Julie is the best host ever.

Great Location; Beautiful cabin right on the river

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property as a base camp to explore Olympic National Park. It was a perfect location as we headed out for long day hikes each day. The owner has stocked the home with everything you need -- perfect for coming back after a long day. We saw Bald Eagles fishing in the river from the back porch!

The Ultimate Stay for Olympic Peninula

  • 5 of 5

Our family went to Washington State in August 2011, and we stayed a few nights at "A Cozy River House II". We were blown away when we walked into the house and saw the amazing view from the deck of the river and magnificent trees surrounding it! The pictures on the website are wonderful, but you have to be there to appreciate this incredible place. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a snack basket, points of interest information, and the relaxing sound of the river. The house was ideal for our family of four. We enjoyed grilling on the deck, hiking down to the river and fishing. The river house is also a perfect place to stay in the Olympic Peninsula as it is close to the beaches, the rain forest, Forks, waterfalls, etc... Also, our drive from Port Townsend to Forks was a fantastic journey with ocean views, winding lakeside roads, snow capped mountains, and forests. I highly recommend "A Cozy River House II".
