Another lovely week!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at Rowden Cottage, and we are already planning to be back next year. The location is beautiful, the house well cared for and designed well for multiple generations. Many beautiful views of the lake from various rooms. Beachfront is ideal; fire pit on the dunes and the decks up above are very much appreciated.

Family Beach Vacation

  • 4 of 5

We rent a house on Lake Michigan every summer and have only rented one property twice. This is a home I would definitely consider again. The house was very clean, a true cottage. No air conditioning but great breezes from the lake and lots of fans to keep the air circulating. Kitchen had everything we needed and more for cooking and serving. The bedrooms are small but we didn't spend a lot of time there. You can hear the waves from all four bedrooms. The front porch is a great place to play cards and games at night. The owners had every game you might need for all ages and lots of books/novels to share. Beach is beautiful with reasonable number of steps. I especially liked the small observation deck at night to watch the stars and the moon. Location is perfect between Holland and Grand Haven. The only thing that I would suggest is taking a mattress topper because the mattresses were like sleeping on a door. Overall a great cottage to rent. Remember to bring your own linens and towels. We had never encountered that and forgot. Luckily we had one family member who came later and brought what we needed. I didn't like that at first but sleeping in your own sheets is actually quite nice.

August Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I with 4 adult children spent a week at Rowden Cottage. The cottage was spacious and welcoming with a feeling of home. The kitchen was equipped with cooking utensils and pans for any type of meal (additional bonus of many spices). . The two refrigerators gave ample room for storage. The living areas were very comfortable and the sunroom was a delight with a spectacular view of the beach.

The decks were great for watching sunsets.

Our family was content to stay at the cottage the entire time rather than take day trips or go out for dinner.

The beach was very private and had a great place for an evening bonfire..

Overall Rowden Cottage was a very peaceful beautiful and relaxing place to be. I woud definitely recommend a stay at Rowden Cottage and hope to go back..

The owner was very friendly and helpful responding quickly to emails and questions.

Rowden Cottage

Private beach, memorable sunsets, and the open your window to hear the waves and wind in your bedroom experience. We just love the elements, comfortable and yet wi-fi ready home. Enjoy nearby shopping and restuarants in town, and run back to the beauty of this beach. It my favorite vacation place of all. This cottage will have everything everyone may need. Cable, laundry, kitchen and large dining table, if you must cook.

Perfect Autumn Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Rowden Cottage is a beautiful getaway tucked in a quiet, wooded area overlooking Lake Michigan. The home has gorgeous views of the lake and the private beach is pristine. My 3 friends and I had a wonderful time spending an October weekend together at the Rowden's family cottage. The owners were terrific and very helpful prior to and during our stay. The home is wonderfully maintained and we could not ask for anything better. It was the perfect place for our first annual autumn weekend getaway and we all quickly agreed it would be for years to come!

Rowden Cottage - Captivating, Charming and Alluring

  • 5 of 5

We have vacationed in Michigan for several years, and after finding this precious retreat in July, 2007, have returned every year since. Private beach, ocean-like waves, and incredible sunsets are yours by day, but also viewed and heard from the cottage by night.

This family cottage is big enough for shared movies and dinners, yet intimate enough for quiet mornings and a good book. Favorite house amenities include a large screened porch overlooking the lake, two separate refrigerators to easily accomodate all vacation food and beverage needs, and a convenient laundry room. The internet, large outdoor grill, basketball hoop, and beach toys are also a must mention.

Being nestled between Grand Haven and Holland, we enjoy golf, boutiques, and a variety of restaurants.

The location is great, surrounding towns are fun, and you would have wished your relatives bought this wonderful place years ago. But shhhhhhh, let's keep it our little secret.
