About Alletta Bayer

We live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and enjoy being out in nature. But the first time we visited Sunriver, WOW! We couldn't believe all the outdoor activities practically at our doorstep available year 'round! With so many fun things to do, I feel like we're at Family Camp every time we come. Sometimes we bring other families with us, and sometimes we come just the 3 of us to play hard, have fun, and relax and unwind from our busy lives at home. Our home is set up to be our home away from home, with everything we need to have a great time. So come on over, make YOUR family memories, and we hope you'll enjoy our home season after season!

Alletta Bayer purchased this house in 2005

Why Alletta Bayer chose Sunriver

The scenic beauty of the Cascade Range, the dry air, loads of sunshine, snow sports in winter, warm summer days and cool nights, year around outdoor fun, REALLY NICE PEOPLE, and so many things to do and see make Sunriver the optimum place to vacation. Where else could you find a world class observatory for stargazing near a horse stable for trail riding near a marina for canoeing, near a beautiful restaurant to watch the boaters, near a golf course, near 33 miles of hiking/biking trails near a health spa/fitness center near an old volcanic lava tube to explore.....well you get the idea. Come and find out for yourself your favorite things to do. And don't forget to enjoy the hot tub when you get back to Holly Lane Lodge......

What makes this house unique

Holly Lane Lodge was recently luxuriously furnished and decorated in a North Western motif with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. While it is spacious enough for multiple families, it's cozy enough for a couple. A BIG FLAT SCREEN TV in the GREAT ROOM, and a HOT TUB provide loads of fun, as well as other TVs, DVD players, and VCRS. A wall of windows in the Great Room ensures you'll wake up to a bright and cheery atmosphere, in fact, the whole house has lots of windows. All the bedrooms are separately themed, and the kids' bunk room has cowboy/cowgirl decor. I love to cook, and if you do too, you'll find a well-equipped kitchen, big enough for multiple cooks, and an island with 4 chairs for your friends. Want some adult time? The kids will love to hang out in their SEPARATE kid's area loft upstairs, with TV, DVD, VCR. They can also ride their bikes (8 adult bikes and 2 smaller bikes provided, bring the younger kids' bikes or rent some in the mall) in the long driveway, or on the quiet area streets if they are not going out to explore on the bike paths. FORT ROCK PARK is just a 5 minute walk away, where you'll find playground equipment, large playing field, tennis, horseshoes, picnic tables, and parking.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We loved Sunriver and your house was delightful! In our few days there we biked on the wonderful pathways to see as many of the local attractions as we could. Being so close to Mt. Bachelor meant we had all the skiing and other winter sports opportunities just a few minutes away. The house was beautifully furnished, spacious, comfortable, bright, and easy. Lovely to come home to at the end of a busy day. We can't wait to come in Summer!

Best Sunriver house we've stayed in!

  • 4 of 5

First of all, this was the cleanest house we've ever stayed in--and we've been going to Sunriver for many years! Also, the kitchen was well stocked, and there was plenty of room to spread out (older kids or one group upstairs in addition to plenty of room downstairs for another group). The bed I slept in was not great, but fine--I didn't lie down on any of the others but never heard any complaints. The hot tub was broken went we went to use it, but the repair was done first thing in the morning and then it worked great. I hadn't realized when we booked the house that it didn't have A/C, but 95% of the time this was not a problem since it always cools off at night and we kept fans running and windows open, pulling down the blinds in the morning sun (and this was in mid-August, so I'm sure every other month it really isn't an issue). We also really loved the leather furniture in the FR--I'll admit to being hesitant to spend much time on upholstered furniture in other homes we've rented, especially when you find crumbs under the pads and there are stains all over the fabric... so leather furniture was a great feature in my book!!! We could have used a slightly bigger kitchen table that seated 8 instead of 6, but we just kind of squeezed in two on the end--and there was more seating at the bar if needed. Overall, we were extremely satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed this house. We highly recommend it!

Sunriver family vacation

  • 4 of 5

4 Holly Lodge in Sunriver is a lovely home which is family friendly.

The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and glasses, pots and pans and has two dishwashers!

Beautiful newly sanded/finished deck, which runs the entire length of the house. At one end of the deck was a brand new hot tub!

Three and a half bathrooms. The extra half bath was a plus!

The showers were uncomplicated, with grab handles built in, which was nice for us grandparents :) (not designed to be ADA).

The open floor plan with a large island in the kitchen ,which was a gathering place. We practically ran over ourselves in the kitchen, but there was room for us all!

Comfy leather furniture, which was easy to wipe off.

10 SHARC passes. SHARC was one of the favorite activities for the teens/parents. The observatory/ Nature store were worth seeing also.

Great location for our family of all age groups. Walking distance to Fort Rock park. 10 cruiser bikes! The house is close to the North Sunriver Market, which is stocked with fresh fruits/vegs plus.

Would have given it five starts except that when we first walked in,

at 4:00 pm on a hot day, it was very warm. No air conditioning, was evident. The kids bunk room upstairs was HOT , even after airing the house out, and turning on the fans. Uncomfortably so. After we were there a couple of days, it seemed to get better. Perhaps the house had not been in use for a few days before us and not aired out?

That would be a difficult thing to just "change" on a house, and we

understand that. Two other things which could be changed were the

broken hide a bed frame, which the space that allowing it to be a bed was needed. Also there were stain spots on the stair landing carpet and in some bedrooms, which sadly, took away from the otherwise positive reaction to the house. The rest of the house was freshly cleaned.

A very nice house with a couple of bumps..... would recommend

this house to others! The owner and housekeeper seem very nice

and attentive to our questions/ concerns.

Note to the Alletta (Owner).... The Deschutes River was simply gorgeous near Sunset, floating from Harpers bridge to the marina take out, in our canoe and daughter's family kayaks.:)

Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great house in a great area of Sunriver!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Holly Lane Lodge! The home is very nice and there was plenty of room for my family of 8 adults and 2 children. The kitchen is well equipped and everything felt clean and fresh! Our only disappointment was that there was no ping-ping table as pictured for my kids who had planned to have a tournament. The beautiful weather and Sharc passes made up for this though, and overall the experience gets an A+. Alletta was so accommodating and such a pleasure to work with. I would love to stay at Holly Lane Lodge again and would highly recommend this Sunriver home!

Owner's Response: I am happy you liked it. It IS perfect for a staff retreat, isn't it? I do try hard to keep it in top shape. I just refinished the decks and had some exterior painting done, and I think they look awesome. I hope you choose it next year for your retreat.

Perfect for out family!

  • 5 of 5

I was a little disappointed that the house wasn't air-conditioned, but with trees on both the east and west sides of the house, and by following Alleta's instructions about closing the blinds during the day, the house stayed comfortably cool. And the house has EVERYTHING we could have wanted. The master bedroom is upstairs along with the bunk room, so our grandchildren could be near their parents. The two downstairs bedrooms were comfortable and very quiet.

The SHARC passes and bikes were very useful. The SHARC and Village are about a mile from the house. The wi-fi signal was very strong. Everyone enjoyed using the hot tub, especially the grandkids. The kitchen has absolutely everything anyone might need to prepare even a large meal. In short, we didn't want for anything. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Owner's Response: Hi Doug, I'm so happy you all enjoyed it and were comfortable! I find the house never gets too hot IF the blinds are let down before you leave, even if forgotten, it cools down right away with the cool evenings. Too bad for anyone who passed up a stay there who didn't believe me. Hope to have you stay again next summer!

Summertime Family Fun

  • 4 of 5

Holly Lane has a great location and nice layout. It is close enough to the pool and recreation area (SHARC) and not far from the supermarket on Cottonwood Rd. Although, we also shopped at the market in the village. Having SHARC passes and bikes included were two of the perks that we consider a must-have whenever we rent at Sunriver. This house had both. A comfortable home for our extended family. We had a great time. Sad when it was time to leave.
