No better location for a quintessential SF experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The location of the apartment cannot be beat - central to everything in the city and the neighborhood is amazing. We felt very safe and there was always something to do within walking distance. We never had too big of a problem with parking which is a huge plus in San Francisco.
Any issues that came up were quickly addressed by the landlord. He gave us a tour of the neighborhood on our move in day. He is also quick to respond and very kind.
The apartment was quiet. There were blackout curtains throughout the apartment which was a huge bonus for us due to working night shift. The apartment is approximately 500 sq feet which could be a little small at times, but the bathroom and kitchen are both very adequate in size. Beautiful nearly unobstructed views of city from bay windows in the living room were also a huge selling point.
An awesome true San Francisco experience!
Andy was very nice and quick to respond. As soon as we got there he offered to take us on a short tour and explained how to get around with public transit and the sites to see. The location is cool and located in the heart of the Castro district. Andy and his partner are big dog lovers and they just bred about 6 little lab puppies which he let my children see. Super Cute. The only drawback is that if anyone in your party has dog allergies, you may have some symptoms. The bed in the room is pretty comfortable. The pull out beds in the living room are big, but I would recommend them for kids seeing as how they are not nearly as comfortable as a real bed. Overall, the setup worked great for us and we look forward to visiting again next time we're in San Francisco. Thanks Andy
Great location! Great home!
We loved it! It's an apartment on the top floor of a home in the Castro District. Andy owns the home and lives on the lower level. He was a wonderful host and available if we needed anything, even taking me to the airport for a late night flight. The apartment is furnished well and very comfortable. The view is breathtaking! Best of all, the shops and restaurants of the Castro are within a few blocks walk. I would gladly stay there again!
Vaca in Sf
I had a wonderful time while I stayed in SF. Andy (the owner) was wonderful, he checked in to make sure everything was alright with the place and if I needed anything as well as offered transportation to and from the airport..and when my flight was canceled the Sunday I was supposed to fly into SF Andy notified me before I even knew about the cancellation.. This was a big help. Would definitely stay here again.
Great accommodations and location!
Andy's place was perfect for our family of four. Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very spacious and great to have so that we did not need to eat out every meal. Andy was very accommodating for our needs. There was a bus stop right in front and down a few blocks was the subway. It was very easy to get around the city from this location. We lucked out with beautiful weather and had great views from his place. We can't wait to go back.
Feel the real San Francisco - experience this wonderful city as a local
Andy was a wonderful host. He picked us up from airport promptly (despite delays at our end and was easily contactable). He then took us on a local tour (believe that!) - gave us Clipper cards (we loaded them for 7 days - excellent value). The apartment was very comfortable for (family of 3 adults) - separate bedroom with pull out sofa. The kitchen was well equipped and served our needs. The Castro neighbourhood was special. We had good transport options to downtown and a wonderful place (Harveys) to unwind at the end of the day. On one night we got a movie at the Castro Theatre (a must do - live organ music as an introduction to the movie). A bus gets you to and from the shopping area but we chose to walk. Andy lives in the floor below but our stay was extremely private. I would highly recommend staying in Andy's Apartment.
San Francisco has both bay and ocean exposure. The apartment is on a hill with a view of downtown San Francisco also has fog; layering clothing is advised. We have a great public transit system with trolley cars acquired from around the world and beautifully restored and of course the classic San Francisco cable car. We have many incredible National Parks less than one hour away and we have street fairs where artists sell their work all summer long. And with 24/7 concierge service if it can done in or around San Francisco, I can make it happen.
Other Activities: Alcatraz, Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and of course a ride on the cable car.
