Testimonial: 'I was very pleasantly surprised. When I saw the pics of the view on your site I expected that they made the view look much better than it is. I was not prepared for how much better it turned out to be. I really enjoyed lying on the couch watching the boats come and go from False Creek. The location in relation to the rest of the city could not be better. Everything I needed was within a short walking distance. Half a block to the seawall, with a real beach within another block or two--it doesn't get any better than that. The condo itself was nicely furnished, clean and well-maintained. Everything worked, the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils, etc. You should be hearing from me again!' SF, Virginia

Testimonial: 'Frankly, I don't think anything could be better..we even walked past some of the other places we'd considered in different neighborhoods and this one and always said, 'our place is better!' I usually have trouble sleeping and the bed combined with the breeze and the city sounds had me sleeping better than I have in years!' SB, Texas

Testimonial: 'We had a terrific time in Vancouver and really enjoyed staying in your lovely apartment. Now back in London, I am really missing your Vancouver view. We kept watch on the neighbourhood heron with the excellent binoculars. We would certainly return to your condo.' ES, UK

Testimonial: 'Now that we are back in Maine, reliving the wonderful memories we created over the past week, we wanted to take a moment to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in your Vancouver condo. It served as the perfect 'home base' for us. The central location was very convenient, particularly with easy access to public transportation. The information you provided helped us patronize some of your neighborhood businesses and the view was a bonus!' NM, Maine

Testimonial: 'We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your apartment - the location, views and apartment itself are all fantastic. Thank you for sharing your Vancouver home with us. There is a very strong chance that we will be visiting Vancouver next summer and hope that we will be able to book with you again.' AM, Australia

Testimonial: 'We loved Vancouver, just as you said we would, and it was all the more delightful due to the comfort and homely feel of your condo; we are very envious of you!! It was so nice of you to leave a bottle of wine which we enjoyed and so thoughtful to place the flowers for our arrival.' JI, UK

Testimonial: "We have stayed in many VRBOs over the years, and your condo is definitely in the top 1%. One of the reasons we select VRBO is because it gives us the option of dining in or out and a feeling of home. Your condo has everything on our wish list. It is always nice when there is a full set of cookware (great quality), dishes, and storage containers. As far as suggestions for making the condo more accommodating, we have none. It is very well appointed and decorated. It has given us a wonderful two weeks. It is obvious this is your home away from home, and we greatly appreciate the fact that you have opened it to us for this visit. We hope to return at some future date."

Why Harvey Stone chose West End

We live in a rural area in the US and have always seen Vancouver as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. This is our second home and is short distance away from our primary home but a world away.

What makes this condo unique

The West End is spectacularly beautiful with easy access to the entire city. The city is very cosmopolitan with especially a strong Asian community. We bike everyday we are here, either around Stanley Park or around the Sea Wall to either Coal Harbor or around False Creek or up to UBC. A great place to visit.

Ideal location/ comfortable accommodation

  • 5 of 5

The location was ideal and the condo had all we required for our stay. The owners did everything to ensure we had a good visit on our trip to Vancouver. They provided a comprehensive list of restaurants and attractions. We would stay there again if given the opportunity.

Excellent!

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful 12 days. The condo is very well done and lovely - the bed to die for! The black leather furniture is ultra comfortable (for sitting or sleeping). The turquoise tile surround in the shower beautiful! The views as the pictures show amazing!! All of the information and attention to detail was most appreciated. Marlene was wonderful and helped me with a little problem. I so appreciate her! The location is great and the neighborhood very pretty. As mentioned the seawall( for walking/jogging/biking) with spectacular views of English Bay, Stanley Park is half a block away! Fantastic! Once you get here and see what this sea wall is and learn how they built it (on the horse carriage ride in Stanley Park) you realize it's a modern marvel and a most beautiful thing for all to enjoy amidst the spectacular scenery of Vancouver. It goes all the way from Canada Place, around Stanley Park to the condo and on around False Creek, past Granville Market on past Kitt's Beach...possibly to the University. That's the part I don't know for sure. I walked a lot of it and took in stunning views the whole way! There are plenty of restaurants close by, and Longs Drug has yogurt, snacks etc. Great city. Great condo. Thank you Harvey!

Awesome Condo

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in this awesome condo. It is located in a friendly tree lined neighborhood in the West End and within walking distance of everything--restaurants, groceries, shops, Stanley Park, and Granville Island. We also enjoyed cooking many meals as the condo is very well equipped. We will be back.

Great view and location. Vancouver has many exceptional experiences and places to eat.

Did Capilano Bridge which was amazing, Granville Island where we signed up for an unforgettable whale watch (over 40 whales), walked the beach and found delightful places to eat. Excellent location.

Great Home Base for an Active Stay in Vancouver

  • 4 of 5

Vancouver's West End and the immediate area offer a great menu of urban delights. But if you are like us -- and staying a week or more -- you need a great home base for coming and going and resting in between outings and adventures. This snug condo fits the bill, nicely appointed with thoughtful touches like a cushy bed, fluffy towells and a modern, usable kitchen, all in a quiet neighborhood away from bustling Robson and the Gastown crowds, noise and traffic. Summer stays in this condo may require putting up with some too-warm temps in the afternoon, when the sun shines directly on the big glass door. But when the sun sets, coolness prevails again. Mornings are heavenly, with a view of the bay, windows wide open, not a bug in sight, breezes flowing and shade on the deck. We liked having daily coffee and breakfast in the condo, plus a couple of dinners with ingredients from nearby Granville Market. Going out for coffee (JJ Bean's) or dining in the West End is great, but you have to walk four blocks or more from the condo. The delightful Granville market is a half-mile walk plus a quick ferry ride, convenient, but not at your doorstep. All the more reason, for longer stays, to skip the hotels, settle in to Harvey's quiet condo, get some provisions and get busy enjoying one of America's best cities from your home base in the West End. Owner is friendly and responsive.

Not so great.

  • 2 of 5

The location and the interior of the place was ok but the elevator was broken and we had to carry suitcases several floors climbing up & down the stairs. The key exchange arrangement also had a lot to desire. We will not choose this place again.

Owner's Response: We are sorry the guest did not have a good experience. Most people consider the condo and the location to be excellent...guess we just can't please everyone. We alerted the guest of the elevator requiring repair and we offered to cancel if that would be too inconvenient. We even provided the guest with a partial refund to compensate for the inconvenience. Tried to do everything to make it right for them. Problems will occur, its how you handle them that reflects your commitment to guest satisfaction. Regarding the key, our normal check in time is before 3pm. As a back up, we keep a key in a locker not far from the condo. Normally we like to meet guests but in this instance the guest was not able to arrive within that time frame. None of our other guests who have used the key locker have experienced difficulties. Considering almost 100% of our guests are pleased with their stay and the key hand over, I am sorry this guest did not have a similar experience.
