About The Owner

A massage therapist for the last 30 years and a nurse for the last two plus years, I work at Espanola Hospital and do bodywork at my own private studio. I came to Santa Fe many years ago for a short visit, and fell in love with the land, the sky, the interesting mix of people. An avid rafter, skier, hiker, I love the close proximity of the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This, coupled with the diverse artistic offerings make this community a unique place to live.

Why The Owner chose Santa Fe

My vacation rental is in an ideal location, just blocks from the city center, a wonderful local market, and the artistic center of the city, Canyon Road. My tenants can park off-street and walk to many major restaurants, galleries, and historic landmarks. It is a perfect location for lobbyists and legislators working in the government since the Capital Building is right down the street.

What makes this condo unique

Casita Arbolita is a work of art; hand-crafted details-travertine shower, granite-tile countertops, flagstone and cherry wood floors, mahogany cabinets, Anasazi stone steps, private courtyard with a gas grill. Wi-Fi satellite TV, washer/dryer, off-street parking, a fully equipped kitchen and more. Its location provides an opportunity to visit Santa Fe without needing to drive or be concerned with parking.

A Real Find in Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5

Although I have been coming to Santa Fe for nearly 40 years, this is the first time I stayed in a private casita. And it was a great experience. The owner was extremely gracious and helpful, and the casita was fantastic! It was decorated beautifully and comfortably. The bed was wonderful, the location fabulous, and just about every amenity you would want is there. And, the price is less than you would pay for a moderate hotel room. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Recommend it.

As indicated on other reviews: good location, clean, well appointed with things many vrbos do not have, has local flair in style and decor, very helpful and responsive owner. Went there with my adult daughter to hike, primarily. Had a good time and would stay there again. Good value. Janice was great.

What a cozy gem

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I were here for three nights over Spring Break. The casita is in a great location near everything. We walked to Canyon Road. Janice left goodies and everything was well stocked. The bed was comfortable and the house was fun to hang out in. The bedroom would get warm at night, but we opened the windows to help cool it down. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you Janice!

Perfect Santa Fe experience

  • 5 of 5

The 150 yr old Casa Aborlita was the perfect taste of Santa Fe. Janice was the perfect host going above and beyond with a graciously prepared gift basket and personal tour. The casita was spotless and generously appointed with a great mattress and bed with luxury bedding and a great Kiva fireplace with plenty of firewood and kindling for the chilly nights. The bathroom was decorated in local southwest style and had a great shower head and plenty of hot water. There is an in unit washer and dryer if needed. The living room was cozy. There was even a small courtyard. There is a little gourmet grocery store a block away. It's a scenic 10 minute walk (or $4.50 uber ride) past the state capital, shops, churches and restaurants to the plaza where you'll find the beating heart of Santa Fe. It is the social, cultural, epicurean, and shopping Mecca. . Anything you want or need can be found there. Museums abound there. Native craftsmen selling their wares. You might even want a custom hat made at O'Farrel's hats. No matter what you do your perfect little casita will be waiting and welcoming you back. Will definitely stay here again. I couldn't imagine a better place.

Great place to stay near the center of town

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this place was great. First, it is within walking distance of the square area and everything that is there. There is a small market and a liquor store very close as well. The casita itself is very nice, with a full kitchen containing just about anything one would need for cooking (cookware, small appliances, utensils, spices and other essentials and a huge refrigerator). There is a plenty of room in the sleeping area and sitting room and a TV with cable in each area (one TV is an older CRT, but serviceable). Also a DVD player but no WIFI on the TVs, so bring your own ROKU or whatever. The queen-sized bed is comfy. The bathroom is small but has a large modern shower. Janice was a great host and made sure we were settled in. She also left scones and fruit and half and half in the fridge. We're from Ohio, so it's a long haul to Santa Fe, but if we come back, this is where we will stay.
