Charming, spacious cottage nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in the mountains of Big Canoe. Our home has 4 BEDROOMS nicely furnished, with comfortable beds and quality linens. The master bedroom is located on the main level with a king bed, Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, and a door leading to the screen porch. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 2 twins) with a Jack and Jill bathroom. A fourth king sized bedroom is located on the terrace level with a full bath. There is an additional half-bath across from the kitchen on the main floor.
There are 3 LIVING AREAS, one on each floor. The main floor living area has a stacked stone fireplace, flat screen TV, vaulted ceilings with windows spanning from floor to second story ceiling, open to the kitchen. There is a sitting area in the loft that looks over the main floor, perfect for reading or browsing the internet with wireless connection. The terrace level has a large living area complete with a flat screen internet TV, Netflix streaming, DVD library, board games, stereo system and a large table for playing games or for additional dining space.
The KITCHEN is bright and cheerful with a comfortable window seat in a cozy nook that is perfect for relaxing with a good book. The kitchen is fully equipped, up to date, with most everything the cook needs including cookware, utensils, dishes and appliances. There is a large dining table that can easily accommodate 8 people. A laundry room is located downstairs with full-sized washer and dryer.
OUTSIDE on the main floor there is a comfortable screened porch and deck for enjoying the outdoors and viewing deer meandering down the mountain side, often in the morning and early evening of the day. Stairs lead from the deck to a covered porch below where there is a gas grill where you can cook out, rain or shine.
The house is located within easy driving distance to the amenities offered at Big Canoe including the swim club, Sconti golf club and restaurant, tennis courts, boating, fishing, hiking trails, rock slide, fitness center and Chapel
We have enjoyed spending summers and holidays in Big Canoe for many years. We finally purchased our sweet home a little over 5 years ago. Our only regret is that we do not have more time to spend there.
We decided to buy our particular home for several reasons. One of which is the quiet, wooded location that has a storybook, mountain cottage feel. We like that it is only a short drive from the club house(we love to eat there and enjoy the views), the swim club, hiking trails and the chapel. Our home also has plenty of room for guests to have their own space. The deer and other wildlife seem to like our location too :)
While there are plenty of things to do in Big Canoe, we enjoy hiking and my husband loves fly fishing on the lakes. Ladies there is also awesome shopping at the North GA. Premium Outlet mall only 25 minutes away.
We absolutely love the place. Your home is so beautiful. We love it so much that we want to book/reserve our Summer trip already!
My extended family spent The days before Christmas and Christmas morning here. The accommodations were perfect for a mix of couples and singles. The young people had room upstairs. My elderly mother who hadn't spent the night away from home in several years was comfortable in the main suite and there was a separate private downstairs suite for me. I was able to fix a big Christmas dinner in the roomy and super well-stocked kitchen. The young people hiked. The middle angers strolled the very beautiful, natural and quiet neighborhood. And my mother had a porch and deck from which to bird watch. The hostess, Cheryl was very available and accommodating a few special requests. We spent the most active and memorable Christmas there i have had in many years.
We had a fantastic stay at Big Canoe and the home was just as advertised. Very clean and well decorated and beautiful setting. Cheryl did a great job of communicating and provided all the details needed to ensure a great stay.
The house is great & very clean!! Plenty of room for several couples. Good location & not far from the Clubhouse. Would highly recommend. The owners are great to work with.
We had a delightful weekend in this lovely house. It was very clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the quiet, peaceful environment and watching the young deer wander through the yard. If you are looking for a place to "get away from it all", this would be the place for you.
The owner was very prompt in responding to my several emails and was delightful to deal with.
We went to Yonah Mountain Winery while there. The owner gives an entertaining tour of this beautiful facility. A visit to Dahlonega square was our next stop...always on our agenda when we are in the area.
Our family came from three locations to enjoy a long weekend together and this home fit the bill perfectly! It is very warm and inviting with all the comforts of home. With three grown sons we enjoyed all of the outdoor activities available, but my favorite time was spent on the back deck in the cool early mornings reading literally "in the tree tops." We look forward to visiting again soon!
