About George Busteed
We are a family that loves Tahoe! Hike, ski, snowboard, snowshoe, mountain biking, photography, fishing... All things outdoors. After a day on the mountain, a soak in the hot tub or lounging with good book is just the best. There is just something relaxing about mountain life.
George Busteed purchased this House in 2004
Why George Busteed chose Meeks Bay
The lake views are everywhere. Amazingly beautiful! There is Meek's Bay for summer fun at the beach, marina & resort. The bike trail starts at Sugar Pine State Park and goes out to Squaw Valley. Winters offer great back country skiing or split-boarding, cross country skiing in the meadow, or Homewood just down the road. Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows resorts have recently combined ownership for the best skiing and snowboarding in Tahoe! We love it and hope you will too! Welcome :)
What makes this House unique

Great location with a scenic view
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very clean and has nice views of the mountains across the lake. The proximity to the lake and Emerald Bay were nice bonuses and the hot tub was very relaxing! We did have to add a little bit of water to the hot tub the first night and then wait a little while for it to heat back up again, so maybe check when you arrive as it does take some time to heat up if water needs to be added. George was very helpful both before and during our stay with information about the cabin and local attractions. The house was stocked with kitchen items for cooking but there are also so many great restaurants in the surrounding areas. The house also has DirecTV channels, but there’s so much to do in the area that you don’t want to spend too much time watching TV. It would have been nice if there was internet connection and little sample soap or shampoo in the shower as I didn’t pack any, but we got some from the grocery store to last us a few days and AT&T has good cell reception in the area so we had our phone internet which was just fine for us. Overall we were thrilled with the house and had an incredible time in Lake Tahoe! Thanks George!!
We love this house and keep coming back!
This is our third time staying here. This time, it was with another family. It was great, the kiddos could play downstairs while us adults were able to enjoy some calm upstairs.
Really nice place especially for a family. Easy to find, close enough to stores.
Gorgeous view, quiet neighborhood.
The home worked nicely for our family. The downstairs area is great for kids. The view from the kitchen, living area and deck was incredible. The neighbors are also very nice!
The house was clean and cozy with a gorgeous view!
My family had an awesome time on our vacation! The house was clean and had everything we needed. My boys had fun playing in the snow right in the backyard!
Beautiful view from a cozy cabin!
Our family had such a lovely stay at this cabin! The view of the lake and mountains from the kitchen/living room upstairs is amazing. The house was clean, beds comfy, and kitchen fully stocked for making homemade meals. Our kids (7 and 3) basically took over the downstairs area while we were able to relax upstairs. The fireplace is downstairs and all supplies provided. The hot tub was dreamy! The owner was very helpful in providing a packet of useful info for the cabin and surrounding areas. He was readily available and more than happy to answer my questions before and during our stay. Only bummers were no Wi-Fi and Dish Network wasn’t working but I feel like that just comes with the territory and encourages unplugged family time =)
Thank you Kate.
The satellite dish was buried by another 5'feet of snow this week and shoveled clear. 17'feet of snow in Feb 2019! We are on the Dish schedule for mid-March to 're-locate' signal if the weather cooperates, working on 'Tahoe-Time'...
Reminder: No WiFi at the cabin, mobile hotspots. Maybe someday they will finish the Uverse project for the Rubicon.
