This is a unique vacation home located within feet of Snowbird Creek. Fishing access is literally out the back door. However, the creek runs with its soothing sounds whether you fish or not. The rear screened porch offers hours of relaxation.

There is an open wood burning fireplace for those cool Fall and Winter nights. The house has central heat and air conditioning and all rooms have ceiling fans. Modern conveniences are here with none of the urban intrusions. The house is complete with WiFi, Dish Network and Netflix. The master bedroom has a king-size bed while there is a queen in the other. Trout fishing is some of the best in the state with numerous cold water streams near by. Lake Santeetlah, within five miles, has bass, walleye, and other species within its 2800 acres and offers the boater an outlet too.

The owners welcome the many bikers who vacation in our area. For a description of the many biking experiences visit Ride the 'Dragon' @ Deals Gap. We have a covered garage to protect your equipment.

The Cherohala Skyway is a limited access highway extending 43 miles between Robbinsville and Tellico, Tennessee and follows the ridge-tops for breathtaking, undisturbed scenery.

If none of this appeals to you, then you can just kick back, relax and enjoy your surroundings. We won't bother you. We're proud of our corner of the state and encourage you to come take a look to see what you've been missing.

About The Owner

Tommy and I have been married for 35 years and love to come to Snowbird. We live in Sylva, NC. Tommy is retired and I am an insurance agent. We are also church choir directors. We have one son, who loves to fly fish at Snowbird. Another son and daughter-in-law lives in ABQ, NM. We have one grandson, Mason

The Owner purchased this house in 1998

Why The Owner chose Smoky Mountains

We love the Snowbird area. I am from Robbinsville and love the small town feel. I just knew other people would love this area too. It is so quiet and peaceful and at the same time, one can be busy with area attractions too.

What makes this house unique

I enjoy just having 'deck time' and reading while enjoying the creek. I also enjoy hiking and walking in this beautiful area.

A Refuge for Rest and Relaxation!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to escape to and leave behind the hustle and bustle of life. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return one day. The house was very cozy and comfortable; the screened porch was the best! Ate most of our meals on the porch and napped a couple of times, too. You can't beat the sound of the flowing creek just steps away from the house. Our suggestions would be to just put a bed on the porch - lol! The fishing in the creek and bird-watching are an added plus. If you want a quiet place to stay, this is it, yet you still have so much to see and do within an hours drive in all directions. Michael and Joyce are great to work with. Always available if you have any needs or questions.

Awesome Setting

  • 5 of 5

Dining on the screen porch while watching/listening to the creek was so soothing. And every need had been anticipated and solved for in the well-stocked house. Very peaceful to be away from all the demands of our busy lives for a couple of days in a very laid back setting. Would definitely rent this one again.

Beauty and comfort all in one place!

  • 5 of 5

The house was comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. The covered carport was just what we needed for our motorcycles. The stream running behind the house it was relaxing to listen at night. It was a comfortable and inviting place to return to after a day of riding the bikes or sightseeing. Everything we needed was there. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and most likely will return in the future.

Great area for riding motorcycles

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Snowbird house. The relaxing sound of the creek was a perfect way to end a busy day…listening to the creek and watching the birds at the feeder. My husband rode the Tail of the Dragon six times as well as several of the other runs in the area. We visited Maggievalley, Cherokee, and Bryson City. We even did the National Forest Road/Tatham Road which is part of the Trail of Tears. The Joyce Kilmer Forest is a must see just for the HUGH trees. The trails are a wonderful hike.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Gary and I have rented many places at different locations over the years but I must say we have found our happy place. When we walked into this house so clean and neat and a screened in porch right on the creek, I knew it was going to be outstanding. We trailered our motorcycle over to ride Tail of the Dragon and other roads and we did, BUT.... I could have stayed at the house and never left in at all. I must t say this is the VERY first time in all my vacations that I was NOT ready to come home . We are going back just as soon as we can. Actually I should write a terrible review so no one would want to go and we could go anytime we wanted . Ha. But I cannot.... Best place in the mountains.. Again cannot wait to go back.

Feels like home (away from home)!

  • 5 of 5

We really loved our time at this cabin! The grandkids ran straight for the creek as soon as they discovered it. We traveled by motorcycle, and our daughter came with her van and the 2 grandkids (10 & 14). The road was easily accessible by motorcycle and car. We really appreciated the covered parking space for our bike.

We took many day trips in the van, and my husband took the grandkids and daughter on a ride at the Tail of the Dragon (Hwy. 129). Once we were familiar with getting to the cabin, everything was easy to find. Lots of curves and hills! A biker's dream ride. Took a trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and saw a bear run across the rode at Cade's Cove, also several deer. Took at trip on Hwy. 219 South, then 74 to Wayah Road. Lots of waterfalls on the way to hike to the Wayah Bald historic rock lookout tower, which overlooked Franklin, TN. We ended the week with whitewater rafting at Nantahala Outdoor Center. What a blast!

The weather did not want to cooperate for having a fire in the fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, but we did it in the rain anyway! It was kind of a running joke…let's go home and build a fire so it will rain! Memories in the making. I loved sitting on the deck and listening to the creek and watching our family have fun.

We got to meet the owners of this beautiful home, as they also own the cabin next door. They brought their grandson with them, which was great for our grandson as he had someone to play with. Thank you, Anna, for the delicious cookies and taking DJ for a float down the creek with you and Mason, and then feeding him lunch! He had a great time. It gave his big sister a break, too. She even had fun playing in the creek with Mason.

Everything you could want (and more) was supplied, complete with inflated inner tubes for floating in the creek. All you need is yourself, clothes, beach towels, paper goods, and food if you are eating in!

I am glad this was a positive experience for us, as it is the first time we have done a VRBO. We are already thinking about coming back again in another season!
