Come Enjoy Our SummerHouse Villa By the Sea!

Bedrooms 2
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-6)

* Note that a beach refurbishment will be taking place along the beaches of Wild Dunes sometime between October of 2017 and March of 2018. The beach in front of our place has luckily stayed in very good shape, but I don't know whether this project will impact our area of beach. The latest I've heard is that they plan to start the project in October. Google Isle of Palms beach refurbishment 2017 for updated information. . .We love our view! The lush green of the grass, palms, and tropical foliage that surround the Summer House pool are below us, and then straight out is the huge beach and ocean! The pool and beach are just a short elevator ride down and then a few steps away!! So convenient when you're dealing with little ones! And, for extra convenience, SummerHouse has a restroom located in the pool area! The pool is officially open for swimming from April 1 to October 1, and the open season may be extended if the weather allows.

This large two-bedroom condo is in the gated resort community of Wild Dunes, at the northern end of Isle of Palms. We are in a less crowded area of the beach, and yet we are close enough to walk or ride our bikes down to the Wild Dunes Village and Grand Pavilion area, where you will enjoy shopping, restaurants and often live entertainment. The resort offers two Tom Fazio golf courses ** and 17 Har-Tru tennis courts. The villa's SportsCard also gives you the option of accessing (for a fee) the resort's fitness center, a heated activity pool down near the tennis courts, and some children's programs in the high season. (You can also take a short 25 minute trip and be in downtown Charleston with its museums, aquarium, historic tours, carriage rides, ghost tours and gourmet restaurants.)

We hope that the layout of our condo will make it feel more like a home to you, as it does for us. With a separate laundry room in the back, a hall closet, and a pantry in the kitchen, the ample storage space helps it feel more like a home away from home. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed and walk in closet, and its bath has been redone with double vanities and a large shower. The second bedroom has queen and twin beds with plenty of storage space, right next to a nice sized second bath.

The well-equipped kitchen feels open and airy, and has wonderful views of the beach and ocean. Gather at the large dining table for family mealtime, or just pull one of the stools up to the bar for a quick bite. The family room is a great spot to cool down and relax after playing outdoors, with a large TV, DVD-VCR combo, and a Stereo/CD Player with an IPOD DOCKING STATION. (We also have TVs and DVD players in both bedrooms!) We also offer FREE LONG DISTANCE and HIGH SPEED WIRELESS INTERNET access. We feel right at home here, and we want you to as well! And the best part for us is our spacious balcony, where we love to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of ocean living.

Our aim is that you'll feel warm and comfortable, with some little touches to make your stay more relaxing and enjoyable. We hope that you will come and enjoy our villa by the sea, and want to keep coming back year after year!

About Sharon

We live just north of Atlanta, Georgia, and we've enjoyed family beach vacations for years. When we purchased our villa, our 4 children ranged in age from 10 to 24. With such a range of ages, we've always enjoyed going to the beach, where we can all find things to do that we enjoy. We are still pinching ourselves, trying to believe that we now actually have a beachfront condo! We plan to get over there as much as possible, and we are also excited about sharing it with others! We know the things that made condos we rented stand out for us, and we hope to make ours feel as comfortable and friendly as we can. We feel truly blessed.

Sharon purchased this condo in 2009

Why Sharon chose Isle of Palms

We love Wild Dunes!! The drive time from our home is only 5 hours and 15 minutes (not counting potty breaks), so it's very do-able even for a long weekend. We love the fact that there are no high rise condos on the resort (ours is tall, at just 5 stories.) The golf courses, tennis courts, and bike paths are all very well manicured and beautifully landscaped. We also like the fact that it's a gated community - this gives us extra peace of mind when our two younger kids want to go off exploring on their own. The Grand Pavilion area is awesome on a summer evening - a quick bike ride and we can have ice cream as a reward! Nearby we have many different nature tours and fishing options, superb restaurants, and then of course Charleston being right around the corner is awesome! We also love that even though we feel very relaxed and 'away from it all' when we're at the condo, we are only 15 minutes from a huge, upscale shopping center and movie theaters. So much to explore...a week at a time is hardly long enough!

What makes this condo unique

We have decided to pay so that our guests will have a Sports Card available to them. The Sports Card is free to you. It provides you free access to the Grand Pavilion area and its pools (after 6pm), and also gives you the opportunity (for a fee) to access the resort fitness center, seasonally heated activity pool, and kids programs. The golf courses and tennis courts are also available to you, and of course, the Summer House pool is exclusively for the owners and guests of Summer House villas. We have stocked the villa with some books, and with some of our family's DVDs and VHS tapes, and we also placed some sand toys and 2+ beach chairs in the hall closet. (We don't want to guarantee that all this is still there, but our awesome guests have taken wonderful care with everything so far, and we expect that this will definitely continue to be the case!!) We also have the Free Long Distance, High Speed Wireless Internet, and our kids LOVE that our stereo in the family room has an IPod Docking station. We'd love to hear your ideas on ways to make it even more welcoming for you!

Wonderful Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, 12 month old grandson and I stayed at this wonderful property for 5 nights. It was roomy, nicely decorated, and most importantly, included anything you could want or need. The kitchen was stocked with all appliances, glasses, dishware, cookware, you name it. It was nice to have a washer and dryer, and although we were provided with plenty of nice towels, we were able to throw in a load instead of having to reuse all week. There was starter dishsoap, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, TP, paper towels, and other things I can't even think of now! Much of it got us through the week without having to buy more. There was even a first aid kit. The only thing I couldn't find was a bottle of floor cleaning for the one time I would have loved to mop the kitchen floor. The closet included beach toys and games, nice beach chairs, and most importantly, a great cart for hauling it all! The pool is really nice, although the water was too cold for us during our stay. The location is perfect, such easy access to the beach. The patio is much larger than we expected, and the view was perfect! It was nice having enough comfy porch furniture for all of us!

Sharon was so helpful with all of the information she sent to us about the area. I would stay here again without hesitation!

BEST Family trip ever! Wonderful condo:)

  • 5 of 5

We visited Isle of Palms in May and stayed in this lovely condo for a family beach week. So many wonderful things to share, but not enough space to write. Ha! Isle of Palms is a fabulous beach, super family friendly, and this was just the best condo! Perfect location, excellent views of the pool and beach, convenient to the best restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, and downtown Charleston. The owners of this condo are the sweetest people I've "never" met;) They answered all of our questions promptly, gave us suggestions on places to go and eat and we're just all around helpful and courteous. The building is easy to locate on the island, parking was never an issue with us, just hop on the elevator and head on up. It's very clean, updated, and stocked with everything you need for vacation. Enjoy coffee on the deck in the mornings and anticipate the day spent on the beach and relax with a glass of wine at night and listen to the ocean. The only complaint I have is that we can't live there. But, we will most certainly be back.

Wonderful condo

  • 5 of 5

My BFF and I just spent several days in this wonderful condo. It was furnished so nice and had everything you would need. I love this less crowded beach area. Met lots of nice people while out walking on the beach. The pool is so nice and clean and having a bathhouse next to the pool is very handy. This is a condo I hope to come back to in the future and will recommend it to anyone interested in Isle of Palms.

Just as the pictures show!! Beautiful!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a full week in this lovely condo; two couples, plenty of room and we had everything we needed. The owner, Sharon, went out of her way to ensure we had tons of information and knew a lot about the area before we ever arrived. She was also helpful with restaurants and places to see. It was a very short walk to the beach and the pool was immaculate! We ate at Sea Biscuit Café (fav place for breakfast, get the shrimp gravy, my husband is still talking about it!) We also ate at Morgan Creek Mill Restaurant and if the sun had been out, we would have had a great view of the sunset at dinner. :( But we heard nice stories about how pretty it was! We also ate at Shem Creek Grill for lunch, and thoroughly enjoyed that and Poe's at Sullivan's Island for lunch one day. (sounds like all we did was eat....) Also wanted to say for those interested, we took the Schooner Pride Sailboat on a sunset and wine tasting cruise. We had a great time and I would highly recommend it to anyone. They only have them twice a month, on Wed. so check the dates. The drive to Charleston is a quick and easy 20-25 minutes. We took the Palmetto Carriage Ride through town and found the guide to be very entertaining and knowledgeable. Fort Sumter was nice and a must for history buffs. but mostly, just the nice long walks on the beach. Very nice and relaxing!! Thanks again Sharon for making our stay so lovely.

Beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

There were 4 of us on our yearly girl vacation. The view from the balcony is exactly as it is pictured. The condo is very clean. Beach chairs and umbrellas, cooler for beach, paper products, sand toys for the kids, etc. were provided. We have never had a condo that provided so many things to use for the beach. The balcony has a table and 4 chairs and is so comfortable. The pool is nice and it is a flat walk out to the beach. Chairs and umbrellas can also be rented on the beach if you do not want to carry chairs and umbrellas out there. There were a lot of local restaurants to eat at on Isle of Palms. We ate at a different place each night. You do need a car as this unit is about 2 miles from the main gate and several miles from restaurants. I would definitely stay at this condo again.

Perfect get-away!

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented this unit for a winter break. We were VERY pleased with this unit. Even in January the view is amazing! I spoke with the owner, Sharon , in making the arrangements. What a delightful and gracious southern lady!

This unit is one of the best equipped units that we have ever rented. The kitchen had anything we needed.

We had the most amazing walk on the beach while we were there. I have vacationed on the beach all my life , and have never found 1 starfish. While on our morning walk we found 22 intact starfish on the beach! I am in the process of drying them now .

Thank you for allowing us to share this beautiful property .
