About Susan Shay
Our primary residence is in Virginia. We met at a small ski slope while attending college in New York. Our family of 5 all love to ski. After visiting many Rocky Mountain western states, we liked Park City the best for its skiing quality, town living, and convenience to Salt Lake City. We also stay in the summer for biking, hiking, fishing and rafting, and find it a great place to recreate all year-round. We chose this home because we like its location, its layout which is private but part of a community, and the Red Pine amenities. It has been very easy to get from the East Coast to Park City; we can even get in a half-day of skiing on the day of arrival or departure.

Spent 4 nights with family of 5, all adults. One person slept on pull down bed. Lots room for everyone. We did not prepare meals other than breakfast. Kitchen is cozy but well equipped. Easily walkable, about 7 minutes to aloha ski shop and chair lift. Slightly uphill on the way to the slopes.
We had groceries delivered beforehand. It was so easy to setup with Grocery Girls.
Susan is very helpful and responsive to emails and voicemails
We would stay at this location next time we are in Park City.
Top Notch Lodging, Location, Convenience
Overall outstanding experience from location to service to conveniences. Especially enjoyed en suite separate bathrooms for all 3 bedrooms, indoor hottub, additional separate bathroom for hottub, outside deck, and proximity to lift for Canyons ski area. Really remomarable experience for Park City!
Great location for family/group Canyons/Park City skiing.
Our group - a mix of family and good friends - enjoyed a great week of skiing at Canyons. The biggest bonus was 15" of fresh powder The house is fully equipped for a ski trip with a secure exterior ski closet, interior closet with open shelving to store/dry helmets and gloves, large closet for ski jackets and boot warmers. The separation of lower level bedrooms/bathrooms, middle level living area with kitchen/dining/living room, and upper level master suite provides good flexibility for groups on different schedules. Plus the middle level includes a great interior hot tub (nice and hot and great jets for full recuperation after a long day of skiing) and a full Murphy bed if needed. There is also washer and dryer for mid-week laundry of base layer ski gear. The open kitchen is well equipped and there is a large dining room table to accommodate a large group meal or a breakfast bar for those on the move. Dad baked muffins every morning using the mixing bowls and muffin pans which was followed by custom omelettes. Wifi and cable TV are easy to access but our focus was on skiing.
There is also a community center about two blocks away with large hot tubs (interior and exterior), sauna and pool. Great opportunity to relax after skiing and meet other people on holiday.
You can either walk up to the main gondola area or down to the Cabriolet gondola to access the mountain each day. It is an ideal location for off-season activities like road cycling, mountain biking, golf, etc... We may come back over the summer.
Park City town center is about a ten minute drive/shuttle bus ride making the house convenient to activity of the town.
Though we had no issues, the owner/property manager was responsive to any questions or needs. Our group definitely plans to rent the house for our next Canyons ski trip. We really enjoyed skiing Canyons and can't wait to do it again.
Comfy Space and Walking Distance to Canyons Base
The property itself is very comfortable and clean - the carper in the living room seemed new and the couch was clean as well. Plenty of dishes and pots / pans for cooking. The cabin has a hot tub inside the unit which is pretty great after a long day of skiing. Overall, the cabin you can expect to stay in is represented accurately in the photos.
Location is also great - a short walk up the hill to the Canyons base area (7 min walk). If you have ski gear, walk down the hill to the gondola, which will bring you up to the Canyons base area (also a 7 min walk). If you want to go to Park City, a short walk down the hill to 7/11 (where the gondola is) will get you to the bus stop. A 10 minute bus ride into downtown or the Park City ski area is extremely convenient and buses run frequently.
The host (Susan) was also very kind and accomodating. Since no one had stayed in the Cabin the day before, it was ready for an early check in. She was flexible and allowed us to check in early given the situation. Also, she is responsive, picks up the phone when you call, and even had 2 hair dryers brought in for my girlfriend and her friend. Overall, great experience and would recommend!
The condo was great. Two minor issues, not the fault of the condo. First, garbage collection is just inadequate over the long weekend. By Sunday the 31st the bins were full so people were leaving garbage bags in front of the bins. Not good! Second, we couldn't get the barbecue to work and the instructions in the guidebook about who to call were misleading. But these are quibbles. Great property great stay. Indoor hot tub very welcome indeed!
Great condo in a great location
Well stocked kitchen, hot tub was clean and awesome to have after a day on the slopes. Everyone had their own bathroom, even the person on the Murphy bed, which was huge. Gas fireplace was cozy and couch super comfortable! Easy to get up to the slopes. My only complaint was the combo lock on the door was known to be broken but we weren't told, so one member of our group who arrived later couldn't get in; but one phone call and they sent someone over within minutes to let him in. Overall a great stay!
