Guestbook comments from the owner

"We enjoy the Roscoe Hillside cabins so much that it has become our Annual "sisters" retreat. We have come to enjoy the relaxing picturesque view from the front porch. It is conveniently located near Historic Roscoe Village and close to Amish Country .A nice get- away from the big city life. Caring staff that is just a telephone call away. Looking forward to year number seven."

Beautiful cabin and Property

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautiful and the land was awesome. We rode bikes, walked the path, had fires and used the pond. Close to attractions. Best cabin we have stayed in and we camp every Labor Day!

An Awesome Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a great time; the house was gorgeous; the grounds were amazing and felt very secluded. This house is also close enough to anything you may need. We did a lot of fishing; caught a lot of LARGE bluegill; a few bass and a perch. Would recommend stocking more bass though. We will definitely be back for another stay and honestly cannot wait. If you want a relaxing getaway this place will not disappoint.

a quiet, restful retreat

  • 4 of 5

cabin was large enough to accommodate all six of us adults comfortably and yet had different porches and decks where you could enjoy some privacy. a serene, quiet & beautiful setting. cabin has all the amenities you'll need. it rained almost the whole time we were there so we didn't get to use the paddle or row boat, but we had a dry night around the fire pit which was lovely. we took all our food and wine with us, but there is a store called Unusual Junction nearby that has great grocery & deli items as well as a diner and soda fountain you should not miss. plus, there are some great restaurants & bars in roscoe village.

only minor issues were communication with caretaker (when called with question, recd voice mail full message) & dishwasher was broken (glad we took extra paper towels, paper plates and cutlery which we used for breakfast and lunch). we enjoyed appetizers on the back deck overlooking the lake (under cover) and

dinners around the big farmhouse table with good food, wine, and conversation.

in short, don't hesitate to rent. take extra towels (1 per guest), paper towels, plates etc, unplug, RELAX AND ENJOY!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying with us! We are so happy that you enjoyed the house and property. Our caretaker Doug did have an issue with his voicemail that weekend and I apologize! I will put a note in the welcome letter that you can also text his number (so if his voicemail is full he will call you right back) and that if you cannot reach him, of course you can call or text me- Charlene. We have a brand new Bosch dishwasher and it is workig great but if you're not familiar with that brand/style it can be a little tricky. I will add instructions on using it.....I hope it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer as well as laundry detergent providing for our guests use as well. We provide plenty of towels for use inside and just a couple of misc. towels for outside use. Please come back and stay with us again! Charlene Roscoe Hillside Cabins

Tranquil long weekend off the grid

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I, and our two dogs stayed four days at this spacious log cabin house. It is on a large gated piece of property and was completely private. We did a few activities in the Coshocton area, like a canal boat ride, but spent most of our time on the property relaxing and walking the dogs. The grounds are very well maintained with many mowed walking paths through the woods and fields. The back porch overlooks the pond below and it was a great place to take in the birds and enjoy the fine weather. Deer and turkey were common sightings on walks. I tried my luck catching fish in the long, skinny pond with little success. A paddle boat and an aluminum row boat (only one oar) were available for our use. There was no cell or wi-fi so we were off the grid (not a bad thing). It is a very comfortable abode, with comfortable beds and couches, etc. We would consider going back again.

Stunning property inside and out!

  • 5 of 5

We throughly enjoyed the beautiful property, and especially watching all of the different birds outside of the living room windows. Most of all, we loved the gorgeous white oak floors in the kitchen from wood from the 1800's. Everything on the property has been thought out, and a wonderful break from everyday life. We also were able to watch Game 7 of the Stanley finals while there, tv is set up perfect for everyone's enjoyment. Our Penguins won - Back to Back. We all had a wonderful time!

Green Briar Ridge - Absolutely Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just stayed at Green Briar Ridge for several days and loved our experience there (some of our kids joined us for the last night of our stay). This home is very private, sitting on 25 acres well off the road. The serene setting was perfect for a little quiet relaxation. We used both the row boat and paddle boat on the lake behind the home, walked the driveway loop around the lake as well as some of the mown paths through the meadows and woods. It is really a stunning place inside and out.

The home was more spacious that I anticipated, and was decorated tastefully. The furniture throughout the home appears to have been lovingly chosen; it is gorgeous to look at and very solid, especially the bedroom set in the master and the great room furniture. There are many details the owner has thought of in this home, including the well stocked kitchen, nightlights in appropriate places for kids who might be nervous away from home, bikes for the kids to ride, fans on the porches which help keep the humid air and bugs at bay, and benches to sit on in the bedroom to dress.

Typically we find this kind of place way out away from all conveniences, but not Green Briar. It is within 8 minutes of a super Walmart, so getting groceries and finding places to eat is no problem. We had great fun in Roscoe Village, the Raven's Glen Winery, riding the historic Canal Boat, and playing with the kids at the Lake Park Aquatic Center and playground.

We would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a peaceful retreat and spending time with nature, but with the necessary creature comforts of a lovely home.
