About Terri Tozer

My name is Terri. I'm from Sarasota, Florida. I've been a local abstract/collage artist in the area for over 30 years. I've been married for 27 years now. And we have two beautiful daughter's in college now. Our family has been vacationing in East TN for over 25 years. We all absolutely love it! We decided to purchase a second home in 2008 in the Pigeon Forge,TN area, and in 2009 we decided to share our home with everyone who would like to rent. Here we are now, sharing our beautiful cabin, giving so many families like ours, enjoyable vacations year after year!

Terri Tozer purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Terri Tozer chose East

We've lived in Florida all of our life and we love it, however we do enjoy the change of seasons and the beautiful scenery the Smokies have to offer. It's a great change of scenery and the 'perfect' place to relax and spend time with family and friends. We feel we have the best of both worlds! Beautiful Sarasota, Florida, and East Tennessee!!! You couldn't ask for more than that. It's amazing how beautiful the Smoky Mountains really are. One day we would love to make East Tennessee our permanent home.

What makes this cabin unique

Whether you want to relax high in the mountain tops of our secluded cabin or go shopping in downtown Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg; they're just minutes from one another. There is so much to do with all areas offering endless amount of entertainment. Truly a relaxing experience. It makes you feel like your in a different world. This has been by far our favorite form of therapy. Whatever you're looking for in a vacation getaway, East Tennessee has it! Definitely a place to make memories!

Great cabin, unfortunately we had some problems.

  • 3 of 5

We stayed in early April for Spring Break. This is not our first time to the Shagbark neighborhood, we love the beauty of the hills and woods and the steep and curvy roads. I am going to provide an honest review. I hope it is helpful to the owners and future guests.

This cabin sits on a great piece of property. The driveway is gravel and steep but it switches back and forth and our crossover AWD had no trouble at all, even in the rain. The cabin is extremely private. There is land for sale next door and a nice trail to walk through too. The layout of the cabin is great too, 2 private bedrooms with adjoining baths. The beds are all comfortable with lots of blankets (and spares). There is a very nice Weber gas grill on the deck with a spare gas tank. All of the furniture was nice and the dishes (cups, plates, bowls) were plentiful. There are plenty of clean towels and a washer/dryer if you like to keep them fresh (bring your own soap).

Upon our arrival at the guard shack we were informed that the hot tub was not working and that the repairman was on his way back. We went out to get groceries and came back to a drained and taken apart hot tub. That was the last we heard of a repairman for our 4 night stay. There was no working hot tub for the entire trip.

The kitchen was dirty and dusty and I know that Terri was not happy about this. The lower cabinets were cluttered and it was hard to find useable pans that weren’t in need of replacement. I had to scrub down the counters and clean some sticky substance off of the floor before we used the kitchen. There was also a large “hairball” on the couch right when we walked in and beer cans off the deck on one side. The ceiling fan in the great room was so dusty we didn’t turn it on. Bring your own salt, pepper,

There are several “stuffed” animals and animal skins throughout, more than was pictured – just a warning to any animal lovers.

Bathrooms – nice Jacuzzi tubes (only lower level tub jets worked). Bring additional toilet paper if staying more than 2 days. The showers are small with poor shower heads.

Terri was very nice when we were booking and trying to address the hot tub problem. She did offer us a free night if we stay again, but we will not stay again.

We loved every minute of our stay in this beautiful cabin. Our 2 kids (ages 7 & 9) loved being able to sleep in the adorable wooden bunk beds! The cabin was clean and provided us with almost everything that we needed. Only thing we couldn't find was a pizza pan and pizza cutter. But other than that most all other kitchen items were available. I would recommend bringing your own napkins and paper plates. View was AMAZING!!! The first trip up to the cabin was adventurous but we made it just fine in our diesel Jetta. I recommend following the directions given to you by Terri and not whatever your phone tells you. Great distance from the Parkway and easy to find. Loved that it was very secluded. Visited the pool one day and the kids loved every minute of it. We were the only ones there which made it even better. Will definitely use Terri and her amazing cabin again! Wished we could have stayed longer. So relaxing and beautiful. Terri was great to work with and provided us with quick responses. Would recommend her and her cabin to anyone who wants a gorgeous view and a relaxing environment.

Stress Relief

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect hideaway to escape the clutches of a stressful job. It is isolated. There are some homes in the area but you cannot see another structure from the house. It sits above most of the trees so the view is fantastic, and there are very few insects to spoil stargazing on the deck or time in the hot tub. The house sits well above the road and the driveway is steep with two switchbacks. My '14 Honda Accord had problems climbing it on my first try. I figured out, turn off Traction Control and it will make it up no problem. The house is very well appointed and has all modern amenities like satellite TV and internet although I never turned the TV on in the 10 days we were there. The kitchen has all the appliances and utensils but if you plan on cooking, bring spices/salt/pepper or plan on buying them. There is a washer/dryer in the master bath which was great to freshen things up during these hot July days. Terri was very responsive to my inquiries and made the whole experience a breeze. It's an amazing location and was the perfect getaway to melt away the stresses of home and job.

Amazing Cabin Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time on our Family Vacation and staying in this amazing cabin made it so much better. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was all very accomodating. Our kids enjoyed the loft bedroom and the Christmas decorations that were added to the cabin decor for the holiday season. Although, the first night the drive up the mountain was quite challenging due to fog but once the fog cleared we were able to see the Beautiful View from the porch and tall windows. The pictures above are just how the cabin is but so much better in person. The cabin is located in a great location but still convenient to all the attractions that the area offers. It was so easy to arrive but so, so hard to leave! We would definitely consider staying/renting this cabin again.

Thank you for you sharing your beautiful moutain home!

Lovely cabin

  • 5 of 5

I surprised my wife with a pre-holiday getaway to the mountains, and couldn't have picked a better cabin. We both loved the cabin design and decoration. It rained one entire day of our stay and it was still great to sit in front of the fire and watch movies all day. The view out the front is great. It is extremely private, I have stayed in many different cabins, and this one takes first place in that regard. We didn't mind having the hot tub in the back, as it was nice to be under a roof if raining. The kitchen was very well equipped (minus a strainer, I couldn't find that), and we cooked several meals there. King bed was awesome! I think we might be shopping for one now. Location was nice for avoiding traffic, although we lucked out and missed getting stuck in both Gatlinburg and Sevierville Christmas parades. I will offer a word of warning: if you are skittish about driving on steep windy roads with no guardrails, this cabin is not for you!
