Visit Paris as a Parisian-great place to for your visit!!!

  • 5 of 5

If you are going to Paris and want to experience this wonderful city as a Parisian and not as tourist this is the perfect place for your stay. You are nestled quietly within the Place des Vogues with all the amenities of a home and access to the city of Paris. The apartment itself while located in the historical Place des Vosges district provides 21st century amenities and connections via internet, Wi-Fi, and access to free connections by phone to US . The associates are available to assist you with any problems or challenges that may arise during your stay. The apartment is well laid out with sufficient space for relaxation, conversation, and reflection of your daily adventures in the city itself. The apartment makes you feel like your home- it helps you to just enjoy the present moment -the gift of Paris.

Outside the walls of the courtyard are the many interesting and historical places to see while visiting: the Bastille, the Opera, many art galleries, wonderful local restaurants all near three Metro stations. You can walk to the Metro, change to the RER, walk to Seine, the Rue des Rosier, the Opera Bastille, Notre Dame -enjoy the concerts at St Paul's and visit the MonoPrix for your necessities. Your next visit to the city of lights should be as a visitor not a tourist -you will accomplish this by staying at 48 Rue des Tournelles. Thanks for a wonderful experience-hope to return for another visit! Great place to be!!!

A Home Away from Home in Paris

  • 5 of 5

We can't say enough about our week long experience in this apartment. If there is a more perfect location in Paris for walking and access to public transportation, we don't know of it. Only a block from the Place Des Vosges in Le Marais, we were in comfortable walking distance to shopping, to two metro stations, to a variety of restaurants, bistros, and cafes, to several museums, and to a glorious open air market near the Bastille. The well-renovated apartment was furnished with everything to make for a really comfortable stay: on the first floor was a living room with sleeper sofas and tv/a nicely equipped kitchen and dining area/and a washer-dryer/and a half-bath. A spiral staircase led to an alcove with a built-in single bed and the bedroom with a very comfortable queen-sized bed. A very nice bathroom was accessed from the master bedroom. Internet service was dependably available and the signal was strong. Free telephone service to the US was a huge, unexpected bonus. There is something special about staying in a home, not a hotel. It made us feel like we owned the experience in Paris, not that we were tourists.

There is only one caveat and that is for anyone with a mobility-impairment. The spiral stairs might be challenging and upstairs there is a raised-beam across the floor to go into the master bedroom. The apartment has been carved out creatively of what you can see is a very old, historic building. The beam is part of the charm, but it would be a barrier for some with mobility issues.

In addition to the wonderful location and the lovely apartment itself, there was a safety-net of good security measures in place. Plus, there is a local contact to address any questions or issues.

We look forward to returning to Paris and when we do, we hope to return to this wonderful, welcoming apartment.

We are friends with the wonderful owner of this property, so we knew we would be in good hands. The property is a two story in the Marais. It could NOT be better located. Steps to the Place des Vosges, across the street from a wonderful bakery. Near everything: great shops, restaurants, the Metro, an AMAZING weekend food market. On the ground floor, there is a living room/kitchen/dining room--all one space. A spiral staircase leads to a balcony with a small bed on which a child could sleep. Upstairs there is a full bath and bedroom; there's another bath downstairs. Because this is a historic maison, there are interesting curiosities (as in where the massive beams of the apartment are placed). I fantasize about returning to eat "une figue," an amazing pastry I got at a bakery down the road. Even though this is in the middle of everything, the apartment is off a courtyard, so it feels completely quiet. I would return here in a heartbeat. For me, the only downside was no shower (since I don't like baths) but that is just my oddball preference. I couldn't have liked staying here better. Very comfortable and clean. I very much hope I have a chance to return.

Fabulous stay just off Place de Vosges

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment in the middle of old Paris. We recommend it to anyone. The location is perfect, just around the corner from Place de la Bastille, and the apartment is modern and convenient.

The date above is wrong. We were in this apartment in 2012. We loved it. The owner is a friend of ours, so we knew we'd be in good hands, as she is a lovely and responsible person. It was a very comfortable apartment in a historic building, and it couldn't be better located, just steps from the Place des Vosges, across the street from a great bakery and near many, many other great shops and restaurants. The apartment is off a courtyard. There are big old beams in the apartment that must be 100s of years old. There is a small downstairs with the living room/dining room/kitchen/bathroom and an upstairs balcony (where our son slept) and a bedroom and bath. We like showers, so that was the only down side, but it was a very comfortable tub. The Metro is close by. We'd come back here in a heartbeat, if we had a chance.

Well-located, well-equipped, quiet, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Several things that are in short supply in Paris -- quiet, space, and air conditioning (in the bedroom) are in abundance here. Everything works, and the apartment is well-equipped. Many fine boulangeries, salons du the and bistros in the area, and despite the calm of the immediate neighborhood you are only 200 metres from the Bastille Metro

Car: not necessary

Tasteful, bright, spacious apartment in a 17th century building on a small quiet street only steps from the Place des Vosges, near Opera Bastille and Musee Picasso. The 'quartier' is paradise for gallery-hoppers and serious collectors. Charming boutiques and restaurants of the Marais. Romantic stroll to the Seine bookstalls and Notre Dame.
