House, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)
Our beautiful, large five bedroom home sleeps 12 comfortably at night, with plenty of room for everyone to eat, sleep, play, etc, even on the occasional rainy day.
Only a 5 minute walk or 2 minute bike ride to the Acapesket Association Beach (private beach!), which overlooks Martha's Vineyard. As the photos show, the beach has a volleyball court, jetty for fishing and crabbing, great shelling and rock collecting and beautiful sand dunes. The front of the beach is on the ocean facing Martha’s Vineyard. The back of the beach is on Green Pond and is perfect for younger children with warm, shallow water and lots of little ocean creatures to keep them occupied. In the opposite direction, it is a 5 minute walk to Great Pond with awesome sunset views. Note that the beach limits the total # of people from this house to TEN, as that is the official occupancy. But also note that there are lots of town beaches mere minutes away if you want to check them out!
The house has hardwood floors throughout (tile in the kitchen and bathrooms).
40' Flat panel HDTV in the very large living room, plus 4 other TVs throughout, including one in the finished basement game room, one in the bedroom with a king bed, and one in the bedroom with a queen bed (all of course have cable TV). WiFi throughout the house. The living room has plenty of couch space to fit everyone staying at the house, and is a very large room and a highlight of the house.
The game room in the finished basement gives added space, too. Several couches, cable TV, and a 6' (slightly smaller than usual) pool table. New carpet and repainted in 2011. This is a great overflow room, maybe for the kids at night or on the occasional rainy day. Both the kids and the adults will appreciate this separation!
A/C units in all five bedrooms really take the edge off on those hot summer nights! The exact bed configurations is:
BR 1 (first floor) Queen (TV)
BR 2 (first floor) 2 twins
BR 3 (second floor) King & pull out couch (TV)
BR 4 (second floor) Queen and 1 twin
BR 5 (second floor) Full and 1 twin
The sun room is perfect for eating, sitting, reading, relaxing! This room is a big hit with our guests.
The large kitchen has a large dining table, with several leafs for expansion to sit everyone!
The kitchen is in great shape. Electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, and a side-by-side refrigerator.
Nice gas grill in the back yard, we also keep an extra propane tank full on site, so you don't have any 'out of gas' emergencies in the middle of cooking up the fish you just caught.
The shed in the yard makes great storage for your bikes, should you bring them. And we have an enclosed outdoor shower off the shed. It even has a light if you want to shower at night. The large backyard has plenty of tables & chairs.
We truly believe we have provided for EVERY need you might have! This is the absolute perfect vacation home. We sincerely hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!
While we do not provide linens or towels, we can recommend several companies that can rent them to you for short cost.
Please note that while we allow up to 12 to stay in our home, the Acapesket Association Beach limits the number of people using the beach from this house to a strict 10 people (2 per bedroom). However, the town beaches do not restrict the # of people. Call me if you want me to clarify this. Thanks.

Why Dennis Murphy chose Mara Vista
We simply love this location. The Acapesket Beach Association's beach is only a 5 minute walk away. It is a great beach! It overlooks Martha's Vineyard. Plus, there is so much space in the house, the LR is so large it can hold everyone, and the sun porch is great!
What makes this House unique
The sun porch is so wonderful... take breakfast out there (or any meal!). The backyard is nice and spacious. And all 5 bedrooms are very good sized - one is so large we have set 1/2 of it up as a living area with a futon couch and TV! The finished basement allows the kids (of all ages) to enjoy their evenings in the game room, or watch a different movie or TV show than the people upstairs. In all, we believe we have thought of everything you will need to have a wonderful week on Cape Cod!

Thank you Dennis. We had a great time on our vacation. The house was spacious and comfortable. Close to the beach, nice yard and grill. We hope to do it again next year. Thanks .
no-frills home near beach
This Falmouth house was a fun place that might be no-frills but makes up for it with its location.
It has an eclectic collection of furniture you'd find in your typical Cape home shared by multiple families and generations (think a variety of couches and chairs).
The pluses: The bedrooms were enormous. The bonus basement room with a pool table was a lovely addition. The yard was spacious. The beach was just a quick walk away and a nice 30 minute stroll down the street, The British Beer Company and The Casino Wharf FX. They welcomed our dogs!!!!
The minuses: The wifi didn’t work well. The outdoor shower didn’t have water because they don’t turn it on until after Memorial Day! When we first turned on the hot water in the home, it came out brown. It wasn’t a huge deal, we ran it and it cleared up. One room had two twins we intended to push together for a couple but the beds were two different heights so that didn't work.
Dennis at Donohue Realty was quite responsive and even held onto a doll that he thought we’d forget in the house so he could mail back to us.
Hi Joe, I'm so sorry about the WiFi. Comcast still has not given me an acceptable explanation, as it was working great for months leading up to your rental, even the day before your rental. I found out after you left that the town was flushing the fire hydrants in the area, and the town said to expect some brown water. Glad that cleared up right away and glad you enjoyed your stay!
Excellent home for family reunions and gatherings. Conveniently located within walking distance from the beach with close shopping for food and other items.
Came to the Cape with some friends for a pre-spring/summer getaway and we had a blast. The house was huge. Slept us all comfortably. The kitchen was nice and the living room area was large enough for all of us to sit comfortably and watch the NCAA basketball tournament. The back yard is huge which Im sure pays off in the summer. The pool table in the finished basement was awesome. So close to the beach too. Looking forward to fighting for this place come summer time. I imagine it will be hard to get!
Andrew you and your friends were great tenants! You are welcome back any time!
Great Family Stay in Falmouth
Our three generational family (10 people) had a great week's stay in this roomy, comfortable house in East Falmouth, only a short walk to a private beach. The house was clean with spacious bedrooms nicely decorated, and comfortable beds. The living room couches accommodated many people, and the kitchen was well equipped. The pool table in the finished basement was a bonus, and even the youngest enjoyed playing (rolling the balls into pockets). The screened porch provided a great place for storing beach gear helping to keep sand out of the house, and also provided an extra place for eating and various arts and crafts projects. Although there is a little traffic noise from the street in front during the busiest part of the day, it is not audible inside the house, and the big backyard (with a brand new gas grille) provided space and privacy. Drivers were also very courteous about stopping to allow safe street crossing to go to the beach. We didn't need to contact the owner during our stay, but knew where he was and how to reach him.
Downtown Falmouth is a very pretty town, with nice shops and restaurants, a playground and carousel for kids, a weekly farmers market, and an occasional concert on the green. More commercial shopping (supermarkets, etc.) is easily accessible. Driving into town along the beach seeing the many Cape Cod "cottages" contributes to the feeling of being "away". As an added bonus, the Barnstable County Fair which happened to coincide with the week that we were there, and on another day we took the ferry to Oak Bluffs, in Martha's Vineyard. All in all we had a wonderful time and would strongly recommend both Falmouth and this property.
An amazing Guys weekend!
First i would like to start by saying that finding a house on the Cape on short notice to accommodate 12 men is not an easy task! However, the team at Donahue Real Estate, particularly Dennis, were up to the challenge. Dennis sent me multiple houses until we were able to find one that suited all our needs. The house was awesome! Everyone slept comfortably. The yard was perfect for backyard games and the Weber grill kept us fed all weekend. The best part about the house was it came with everything we needed. There was plenty of outdoor furniture to relax, The game room was a great addition too after spending a beautiful day in the yard to settle in for a game of pool and to watch a game! Also, we were never too far from the action! We took a quick ride down the street and spent the afternoon at The British Beer Company and also fit in 18 holes at a nearby course. Some of the guys took advantage of the beach passes too and took the paddles boards down to the water. Overall this weekend was perfect. I look forward to spending another weekend in Falmouth! I highly recommend not only this property, but working with the Donahue Real Estate Team. Top Notch!!
Thanks, so glad you guys had a great stay! Other potential tenants please note, the paddle boards and kayaks in the basement are not normally part of the rental. I own this house with a friend, they are his that he stores in the basement and not included in the rental. But similar equipment can be rented in town!
Falmouth is great! So close to everything. 20 minutes from the Bourne Bridge, 1.5 hour drive from Boston or Providence, RI. Falmouth's Main St, just 2 miles from the house, has tons of shops, restaurants and bars. Falmouth also has 3 ferries to Martha's Vineyard. The association beach for this house overlooks MV. Hyannis (great town, ferry to Nantucket) is 1/2 hour drive away. Provincetown (great town too!) is 1.5 hours away or less. Whale watching out of Barnstable (1/2 hour) is great too. Falmouth also is home to the world famous Woods Hole, the Titanic was first discovered out of ships based here. We also have an amazing 11 mile bike path, much of it goes right by the sea. So much to do. I've lived here most of my life, feel free to ask me what is best!
