Anniversary Get away

  • 5 of 5

Me & my husband stayed here for our 25th anniversary and we had a great time. The place was very nice and clean and was exactly what the pictures looked like. The view on the balcony over looking the mountains was breath taking! We really liked the door code instead of having to deal with a key to the room it made it so much easier. It was definitely on the top of the mountain, but we loved it and even though it took about 10 mins to get downtown it was nice seeing the view of the mountains going down. We will definitely stay here again.

Cozy getaway

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our three nights at Heaven Sent. It had everything we needed for just the two of us. A family of four would be close quarters. It should be noted that the "wood burning fireplace" identified in the listing has an electric insert (and we could not get it to turn on with the attached remote). We emailed the realty company, and they responded, but we were not able to get any use of the fireplace in our short stay. The view was nice (including sunrise over the mountain) and would be even better when the Ober Gatlinburg ski trails are covered in snow and lit up at night (still too warm for that). This is a first floor condo, so it was nice to not have to go up steps with luggage, but anyone walking behind the building can see in the window/door when the shades are open. The key-code made check-in easy. The drive up the mountain in a foggy mist at night was a little harrowing, so take it slow. Using the Gatlinburg bypass made it convenient to the Park. HVAC, hot water, appliances, were in good working order with decent water pressure. We were a little concerned that there was clear tape covering the entire smoke detector(!) which was perhaps put in place to disable it (?!). I have alerted the realty company, so hopefully this is remedied. Decor could be updated, but the furnishings and bathroom were in good shape and clean. Overall, it was cozy, definitely economical, and a quiet place to get away from the hustle/bustle.

Welcoming Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We made the long drive up the mountain to stay at Heaven Sent, and it looked exactly as it did in the photos! The condo was very clean, and the door code (instead of a key) made it easy to open. Dish soap, dishwasher packets, and linens were all waiting. I only cooked one meal since we were out visiting the national park, but everything I needed was there. The air conditioning was welcome on our summer visit! We also used the sofa bed for our child, who slept well each night. My family enjoyed the pool area, and said it was also clean and comfortable.

The condo was quiet, even though there were many people in the area. We had no trouble with water temperature or pressure, and making reservations and check-out were quick and easy. This condo was close to Gatlinburg, but away from the traffic and hustle and bustle of the town. By taking the bypass to the national park, we could avoid town and the traffic altogether.

As long as you don't mind the drive up the mountain, this condo is a great value for couples or a small family.

Heaven Sent - Review

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I are 25 years old and we traveled to Gatlinburg for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary.

This rental is almost at the top of the mountain, so there's quite a view! The downside, it takes about 15 minutes to get up or down the mountain into the town due to the twisting winding roads.

The unit reminded me of a studio-style apartment. Yes, the decor may not be for a young/hip couple, but it worked just fine for us. We never spent much time there, we were out sight-seeing most of our stay. This just served as a place to sleep mainly. We did use the kitchen to cook a few meals, it was fully stocked with supplies, we just picked up the food in town.

Price was definitely affordable for the location and quality of the unit. Very nice place! Fire place is just for looks, doesn't produce any heat FYI.

Communication was great, via email and phone. We never used the hot tub or any of the facilities.

Booked because of the reviews...

  • 1 of 5

I looked through many places to stay in Gatlinburg. I chose this condo because of the awesome reviews and the great price. I should have looked at the ages of the reviewers, because unfortunately, when we, the couple in our mid-20's, arrived, we soon realized the only nice thing about the condo was the view of the mountains. Everything is very outdated and almost tacky-looking. The furniture is older and there was wallpaper peeling off the wall in the bathroom. There are nail holes in the vanity where there used to be a toilet paper holder, and dirt along the inside of the vanity. On the first night, we slept on top of the comforter on the bed because there were dead bugs and hair in the bed sheets. The tub was also dirty and there were cobwebs throughout the condo. I emailed the manager and house keeping came out the next day. We didn't realize they had been there, however, because they didn't make the bed. They just left us new sheets in a bag on a chair. The did clean up the condo a bit, though. There is a kitchen with supplies needed to cook meals, but not many materials for cleaning up after meals. The sponges were dirty and there was no dish soap. There were 2 dishwasher cleaning packs, though. The condo has a cute porch to sit on, but we unfortunately spent little to no time out on it. The chairs were chained together facing a window, not the view, and there were again, dead bugs and spider webs all over. I mainly went out in the mornings for about 3 minutes to take a picture of the sunrise-that's it. The outside of the condo didn't seem to be taken care of as well. I understand that we are on a mountain with bugs and in a forest of trees, but the large amount of spiders, huge webs, and bees outside of the doorway was a little overwhelming for me. I would have loved to enjoy my stay here, but I should have bitten the bullet and spent more money someplace else.

The Best Vacation Ever

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from Tennessee and had the best time. This condo was above our expectations. The view was amazing, we couldn't have asked for a better view. We spent many nights on the patio looking at the mountains. The pool and hot tubs were also a very nice feature. The proximity to Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains was great. The condo was absolutely perfect and you can't beat the price.
