About Deborah Blum
I am a documentary writer/director and my husband Dale Herd is a screenwriter. We have three children and have lived in Beverly Hills for twenty years. This Rodeo Drive property has been in my family for two generations. The house has a happy and peaceful vibe.

Why Deborah Blum chose The Flats
Historic property located on one of the most exclusive streets in the world. Safe, beautiful and tranquil neighborhood but centrally located and within walking distance to downtown Beverly Hills. This house has been in Deborah's family since 1941. Deborah's father was a Hollywood screenwriter who wrote STALAG 17 with Billy Wilder. We bought it from her parents 22 years ago. It's a well known house in Beverly Hills because it's one of two examples of the Craftsman style in the city. People often tell us it's their favorite house in Beverly Hills.

Deb & Dale were so welcoming and accommodating. Their studio is in the heart of the lovely Beverly Hills neighborhood within walking distance to Rodeo Drive and the fabulous Beverly Hills Hotel. . The studio is comfortable... the kitchen is well equipped with appliances ... the bathroom/dressing room had plenty of towels ,hangers and supplies.... on site washer/dryer very convenient. Overall our stay was 5 stars ! Thanks !

We cannot say enough good things about Deborah and her lovely apartment. We actually were able to stay in the upstairs 1 bedroom apartment and it is PERFECT! I am a clean freak - and this apartment was very clean. It is also so comfortable. From the coach to the bed everything was not only comfortable, but i really enjoyed the sheets and the towels. The windows let in a lot of light and fresh air if you wish to open them. The location is in the most beautiful area of Beverly Hills where you walk the streets lined with gorgeous homes. Thank you Deborah we loved staying at your Rodeo Drive VRBO!
I rented the studio for a week with my daughter and son in law and it was perfect for our needs. I would not hesitate to rent again. Very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Location was very good! Near everything we wanted to visit. Deborah was very easy to get ahold of if we needed anything or had questions. Hope to rent again in future.
Hidden gem in The Flats
Highly recommended, 10 minutes to major business centers. Who wants a boring,high priced hole in the wall, when you can have clean, quiet, comfy Studio flat right off the pool, and a million miles a way from conventional. Whole Foods, Gelsons, and everyone else will deliver supper, or you can have them deliver your groceries and whip up whatever your heart desires in the convenient studio kitchen, complete with Microwave, frig, 4 burner stove, and oven, and the best breeze floating through the windows...the room is equipped with a/c but you will not need it in the wintertime.... Awesome set up....even better Hosts... I hope to return....

We spent 6 nights in this condo and could have easily planned to stay longer! The Perfect getaway in LA ~ The unit was very clean and nicely decorated, with everything we could have wished for. A beautiful stone patio & pool were outside the glass doors. We had the luxury of bringing our "wonderfully behaved dog" who enjoyed meeting Tookie & Jack the resident pups...
Debbie could not have been a more gracious hostess we had the pleasure of meeting her the day of our arrival .. she was busy in her garden ~ "Thank you for the bag of coffee" ~ Debbie it was a nice surprise!!!

Within walking distance of ColdWater Canyon Park which has good play structures for young children. An easy drive to many places: 5 minutes to Cedars Sinai Hospital; 7 minutes to UCLA. Convenient to visiting the Santa Monica beaches, the Venice Boardwalk, the UCLA campus, downtown Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, including Universal Studios.

Check-In: after 4 PM Checkout: by 11 am PAYMENT: The first half of your payment is due within one week of booking;once received, the unit will be reserved. Guests are responsible for all transaction fees. Paypal and credit cards add 2.5% to the total for domestic transactions; 3.75% to the total for international transactions. This fee will be deducted from the deposit upon departure. PARKING – Parking is limited to one vehicle (small or midsize). Please be aware that the house is a historic property, the driveway is narrow and the parking area is tight. CANCELLATION by Guest – Cancellations forfeit whatever payments have been have been received at the time of the cancellation. If we are able to rent the apartment during the same period we will return the rental amount for the nights we are able to fill, less the amount of the deposit. CANCELLATION By Owner – The Owner reserves the right to cancel the agreement at any time prior to Guest taking possession of the property, due to a family emergency or emergencies that may arise due to a plumbing, electrical or heating malfunction. In such event, all payments made by the Guest to the Owner will be fully refunded, and the Owner will not be held be liable for any damages of any sort incurred by Guest as a result of such cancellation. INDEMNIFICATION - The apartment is privately owned; the Owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. Guest agrees to release and indemnify Owner from and against all liability should anyone be injured upon the premises during the the term of occupancy, resulting from any cause whatsoever, except in the case of personal injury cause by willful gross negligence on the part of the owner. The Owners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the Guest. By accepting this reservation, all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises.
