Escape to your own romantic, vintage Hawaiian style beach house located within walking distance to Kailua-Kona in a private, gated enclave of fabulous homes. This Kona Bay Estates oceanfront home offers comfort and a warm welcome in a spectacular setting.

With 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, a 50 foot solar heated lap pool and 3 separate lanais, it is the perfect place for a gathering of family and friends with spaces to come together to enjoy each other and other spaces to relax in private. A small 5th sleeping area with one twin bed located off the kitchen is perfect for one person and expands the maximum number of adult guests to 9. A pack and play crib is also available along with a twin airbed to expand options for children.

Open up the doors to take advantage of cooling ocean breezes and that indoor-outdoor lifestyle that is synonymous with Hawaiian living. Redwood, cedar, and lava rock walls seem to magically grow out of the surroundings in an interesting counterpoint to the clear aquamarine ocean and frothy white of the waves.

The sun sparkles on the water and then provides a breathtaking kaleidoscope of color with every unique sunset. But don't go in yet! The stars and planets are coming out to provide their own inspiring dance across the heavens. Carole and Chelsea were wonderful to work with - very responsive and detailed in our communications. The home is in a beautiful location, well stocked (more beach towels than I could count) and also games and books, bikes, kayaks, beach chairs to take to the beach, boogie boards and coolers. There were six chaise lounges, and ample chairs and tables by the pool. I wish the master bedroom had air conditioning (but we knew in advance that it didn't, and there were fans which cooled it down at night). Seeing the manta rays at night was a highlight!

The rental property was a very pretty location, quiet and perfect for our combined families. We found mouse droppings in the bedding of one of the twin beds. Washed the bedding so our grandson could feel comfortable sleeping there. The cover to the pool filter cover was cracked and eventually broke. Fortunately no one was hurt. Overall, though, we enjoyed the property and would likely come again.

Its a nice home in a very good location and Carole and Chelsea are great to deal with, all communication timely and accurate. Unfortunately the property is tired and in need of maintenance, too much is broken or just doesn't work, power points, lights, half the toaster etc. The fridge in the kitchen shouldn't be held together by duck tape. There shouldn't be a sign taped to an outside door saying don't use. the pool filter should work. The property is in need of some TLC. Unless you are acclimatised to warm nights, don't expect to sleep well, there isn't much air-con and what there is struggles. Having said that we enjoyed our stay, the location as mentioned is great, and the owners good to deal with.

We are back in snowy, cold Winnipeg...and already missing the beauty of Kona and the house! My family and I spend Christmas in this oceanfront is exactly as depicted in the photos. What a magnificent view from the lanai out over the Pacific! With the many walls of louvered windows, this truly opens the whole house to the outside. The master bedroom has similar sliding windows onto a private lanai...what a view to wake up to! Excellent location and just a few minutes drive into Kailua-Kona. Located in a gated community, it's secure and quiet. Beds were very comfortable; lots of hot water and good water pressure. We appreciated the well stocked items of toilet paper, paper towels and general pantry items. Washer and dryer worked just fine. There was an ample supply of kitchen linens, bath and beach towels. 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, huge living room and terrace...plenty of space for everyone. While not every bedroom has A/C, it was not needed. With the terrific outside space, we didn't use the living room. Kitchen is well-laid out with all the mod cons. We even had a pair of red-headed brazilian birds pop into the kitchen/dining room looking for treats :). The gas grill on the lanai was put to excellent use. Watching the amazing sunsets from the lanai was an extra special part of each day. One small suggestion? As the lanai faces SW, an umbrella or awning would be a terrific addition for those who cannot sit out in the direct, hot afternoon sun. While we did not have the pleasure of meeting Carole or Chelsea, communication was very prompt and efficient. Overall, this house more than met our expectations and would highly recommend.
