About owner/manager

My wife and I own several full time Rentals in the San Bernadino Mtns. This is our first 'weekend' rental. We don't rent this cabin full time because we want to share this place with our family, friends and the general public. This cabin is located in a special mountain oasis

owner/manager purchased this cabin in 2008

Why owner/manager chose Green Valley Lake

We love the mountains and this area is one of the most beautiful areas in Southern California.

What makes this cabin unique

I love to 4x4, hike, fish and ski and all of these activities are less than 10 minutes away.

Nice cabin

  • 4 of 5

Plus side - Beds were nice, bathrooms clean, cable TV, Kitchen well stocked with cooking/eating supplies - "dated" but everything worked.

Minus - a bit run down, water dripping from ceiling (in downstairs bathroom), door (downstairs) to outside didn't seal so air comes in. Kitchen is small, difficult for 2 people to be in together.

Overall - comfortable for a weekend trip.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We did discover, after your visit, that the bathtub above the downstairs bathroom had an issue with the calking around it. That has been fixed. It would be nice if our guests would inform us of any issues while they are their as we would like to fix anything wrong immediately. Or at least, upon their departure. Never had a complaint about a draft downstairs. This is a very old cabin and we do advertise it as "rustic". The more modern central heating keeps everyone warm. We do our best to keep the cabin in good condition.

Great cozy cabin for a family snow weekend

  • 4 of 5

I stayed the weekend in this wonderful cabin with my family of 5 (kids ages 1, 6 & 7) and my brother and his 14 year old. There was plenty of sleeping room and the living space was great to have a meal together, play games and watch tv. We were able to do some kid-friendly sledding right outside the cabin and the kids could play in the snow without leaving the property. It was only a short drive (could be walked if it weren't for the baby) to a great sledding area. If it weren't for the old tobacco smoke smell I would have given this property 5 stars, if you are sensitive to that smell you might be bothered.

Note 1: to parents of small children, there is a steep staircase down to the lower bedroom that was a bit of a challenge to keep the baby away from.

Note 2: there is no washer/dryer or dishwasher

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I just want to clarify that we have owned this cabin for 10 years and do not and never have allowed smoking at the cabin. Their can be a very slight smokiness that is caused by guests building large fires in the fire place in the winter time. We also leave some ashes in the fireplace. This makes fires easier to start and keep a fire started. This bit of smoky smell is typical of cabins in the mountains.

Everything was perfect :)! We wished it had snowed .. but that is out of our control. Super easy check in/out. The kids love the table to play board games all night. Great WiFi .. the cabin was clean and cozy. We plan to come back and visit :).

Comfy, clean and a great size

  • 5 of 5

My husband and our 3 kids stayed for 3 night and the place is great. The downstairs rooms was perfect for our kids to play and sleep. We also liked the outside backyard, my kids loved playing back there. Having the upstairs and downstairs gave us some privacy to hang out just my husband and I and we loved it. Most cabins up here don’t have good cable, this cabin does and we were able to watch a couple of games which we love! GVL is a home away from home for us and this was one of the better cabins we have stayed in. Thank you Chris!
