About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This cozy third floor condo sits at the top of Big Sky's Mountain Village. A quiet back unit, it overlooks a mountain lake where visitors frequently spot moose and black bear from the unit's over-sized window. Occasionally the Big Horn Sheep come up from the hillside into the area, too. Otherwise, look for them on the Lone Peak Trail, on the way up the hill to the units.

Only a 10 minute walk to Big Sky Resort's ski lifts, restaurants, shopping and the Huntley Lodge which offers a fitness center, day spa, outdoor pool and hot tub and Wi-Fi throughout.

The condo has been recently remodeled with beautiful slate floors and shower, a state-of-the-art kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, stove, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cooking utensils, pots, pans and dishes.

The condo has a separated bedroom area with a queen-sized bed and a trundle bed, making it perfect for a family of 4. Find a TV and DVD player in the living room with a wide variety of movies and books for the whole family.

A free shuttle runs from the condo's parking lot to the lifts approximately every 30 minutes. Big Sky has a wide variety of year-round activities to choose from and world-class downhill and cross country skiing, hiking, boating, kayaking and biking are all just moments away.

Or, choose from golfing, fishing, horseback riding. Don't forget that Big Sky is also perfectly located between Bozeman and Yellowstone Park.

About Danielle Kraus

Our family of four uses our cozy condo as a getaway from town. Friday nights up there, we make popcorn and watch movies and spend our days on the ski hill in the winter or biking, hiking, golfing or on the beautiful Gallatin river: rafting, fishing, or just picnicking on the banks.

Because we are up there so much, the unit has all the amenities of home, including a blender, good pans and baking dishes, a cuisinart and lots of books and games.

We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes this condo unique

Our unit is really a second home for us so it has all the amenities we want when we are there. That makes it feel more like a home than a rental. That is what we love about going there, and we think you will too.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just returned from Big Sky. The condo was perfect, I love the tile in the kitchen and bath, I felt like I was in a fancy hotel in the shower. We did not rent a car and just used the shuttles and the trail to get around and it was fine, in fact I was glad that we did not have to drive on snowy windy mountain roads. Thanks for the rental!

As someone else said OK-Really a 2 1/2

  • 3 of 5

On the positive the location and price were great and the correspondence with the owner was most pleasant. However, we should have read the review that was not as complementary-it was spot on. We are frequent VRBO users and found this unit to need some TLC both inside and out. Outside, the location was in bad need of paint and the location was not ski in as advertised. After a few days we found easier ways to get to the resort but some hints would have been useful. The inside of the unit seemed tired. The bed, bath linens, as well as bathroom rug and carpet were very old and should be replaced. As the other review said there is NO internet, it didn't state there was so that is on us. The television needs to be replaced, you cannot see the picture and it is ancient. The Direct TV went out tens of times, sometimes it would work if you reset it but others it would just be out. Not good during the NCAA tournament after a long day of skiing. The skiing was great and we look forward to going back to Big Sky.

Great getaway place!

  • 5 of 5

Condo had everything we needed. Danielle was very responsive and helpful. It is about a 5 minute brisk walk to mountain village if you take the cool trail through the woods. Loved the mountain and loved the condo. Very quiet neighbors too. Can't beat this at this price.

I will start with the positive. The bed was very comfortable and the condo was plenty warm on winter nights. The owner was great at communicating before our stay, and was very accommodating in allowing us to leave our luggage in the unit until our shuttle arrived, even though that was after check out time. However, this was a pretty bare-bones condo. There is no wi-fi, and to be fair, it was my fault for not noticing when I booked the place. Cell coverage is pretty spotty at Big Sky, so even 4G didn't work too well. It would've been helpful to have a binder with information on shuttles, restaurants, and resort maps, since looking these things up without Wi-Fi was next to impossible. There are lots of quirks in this condo, like the drippy shower that is supposed to stop dripping if you turn the faucet handle to the red mark on the wall (it didn't), the lock on the door knob that can't be locked and has sticky black tape all over it, the ancient tv in the living room that has such a faded out picture that watching tv is not worth the effort, and the other ancient tv in the bedroom that is located in a place that would make it difficult to watch (I didn't even try). There also isn't a lot of privacy. The only door in the place is a pocket door on the shower/toilet room. There is a window- type cutout between the bedroom and living room. I can't imagine more than two people or a couple with a small child being comfortable there. As for getting around,

you can walk to the Mountain Village, however, it is an 8 - 12 minute hike through woods, parking lots, and streets that would be tough if you were wearing ski boots and hauling equipment. We elected to ride the shuttle every day, which was very punctual and a nice option. We figured out how to (mostly) ski home, so that was a plus. The complex itself is old and in need of a paint job. Some of the buildings have peeling paint and look shabby. Most of our days were spent skiing, so luckily we didn't spend a ton of time indoors. However, it would've been nice at night to relax in the unit and watch a movie or enjoy the Dish satellite. Next time, I'll probably spend more money to stay somewhere a little more comfortable.

This is a very clean and comfortable condo. Skyline free bus gets you to base of mountain or down below to

City Center/Meadow. The bus is only a couple of minutes walk from unit or you can take path to base of mountain - an easy walk. The kitchen is so well equipped with plenty of counter space, pans, pots & knives so it's easy to fix meals if you wish. Whether it's the shower or kitchen sink hot water is literally seconds away. The unit is located on 3rd floor so it's quiet and the sunrises are spectacular. Finally Danielle is so helpful and cooperative to work with. Returning guests - Ben & Shirley
