Surfers Paradise on the Beach at Costa Azul

Bedrooms 1
Half Baths1
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Sleeping Porch, 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 2)

Mykonos Bay Resort is renowned for its location right on the beach at the famous surf breaks of Costa Azul. Zippers is almost right in front, and The Rock and Old Mans are a short walk up the beach with board rentals and lessons along the way. There are 7 miles of white sand beach with a wonderland of sights to see – whales spouting, seabirds zooming over the waves, and uncountable fish and manta rays breaching.

The Resort is beautifully designed with the main buildings surrounding three pools (a rock waterfall flows into one and another has a swim-up bar), three hot tubs and a sunken barbecue pit, all fringed in lush tropical landscaping. Add the full-featured gym and tennis court and Mykonos is considered one of the top resorts in Baja.

My building, Helios, is the newest of the three in the resort, with by far the largest units and the best views of unobstructed coastline - from Punta Gorda to Punta Palmilla, over 10 miles apart. We get no highway noise at all.

Renting a car is an option, but you can walk to several restaurants, stores and even a shopping mall. Buses stop outside the resort and taxis are plentiful as well.

My own unit, 404C is stylishly decorated and upgraded with your enjoyment in mind. From the new gas barbecue and LCD TV to the divan on the spacious deck decorated with plants, you will find just the right appointments to enhance your stay.

About Susan Frazar

I am a California native and have spent many years traveling to Mexico via cars, boats and planes. I love the people, food, music and language, although, I do not speak much Spanish. I never tire of Mexico and live here most of the year. Being a water person, I have all the toys; Snorkel gear, boogie board, stand-up paddle board, kayak, and surf board. The lifestyle fits me well, being casual and laid back, but with plenty to do when I need to.

Susan Frazar purchased this condo in 2004

Why Susan Frazar chose San José del Cabo

I came for a week visit to Mykonos Bay and I left owning a one-bedroom unit. I said one week is not enough and I had always wanted to buy something here in Cabo. Mykonos Bay is perfectly situated on the bay.

What makes this condo unique

Mykonos Bay has all the amenities you will need, plus being in walking distance to the 3 great surf spots: Zippers, The Rock and Old Man's. And you WILL see Mike Doyle at Old Man's surfing. There is also a great hike just across the street.

Thank you Susan!! What can we say...we had an amazing time Thanks for sharing your lovely condo!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! The condo balcony was our favorite place to be when we were not taking in the sites of San Jose del Cabo. We enjoyed many spectacular sunrises while sipping our morning coffee, after a restful night’s sleep (the bed is very comfy). We stayed 5 days, and literally had to drag ourselves away from this oasis! I could go on and on about all of this condo’s lovely attributes, but the balcony stole our hearts...the view was mesmerizing! Bring binoculars!

As for the condo owner, Susan, she played an integral part in helping me make my partner’s 50th celebration a huge success! Thanks again Susan!

Susan’s condo can be summed up in one word…Lovely. It is well appointed with quality decorating and a killer view for whale watching in season. If you treasure tranquility for decompressing and enjoy long walks on the beach, this may be the place for you. We have stayed in this condo several times and look forward to coming back in the future.

Manhattan Beach, California

Paradise awaits you!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to Susan's professionally decorated condo, upgraded with every detail, twice a year. It is a retreat for rest, relaxation, meditation, I love reading on the huge balcony on my lounge in the corner while my husband sits around a table for four at the other end doing his thing. I dream of the wonderful parties I could have but we prefer to visit all of the restaurants with our many friends we have living in the area. Costco is not far up the road and across the street from our first stop, The Trailer Park! It is truly a locals place with killer margaritas and fresh daily fish, if you are on a budget, this is a place to visit.

Sardina Cantina and Habaneros are our favorite breakfast places and Sunday brunch at organic Flora Farms.

Thursday night Art walk is a fun event, make sure you have a dinner reservation on that night. For a reasonable dinner, check out La Marina for the fish caught that day, across from the El Gonzo. The new owner has upgraded from the old plastic chairs, it's a lovely motel patio bar and grill around the pool.

El Wine Shop has our favorite red, Piccolo and also serve organic coffee and expresso. For a special occasion, visit El Matador, a restaurant in a private home.

Check out the local farmers markets for arts, crafts, organic food stuff. I am gluten free and have found markets, shops and restaurants that have everything I need. The Seven Seas is a beautiful setting for any meal, we love to watch the surfers, Mike Doyle's surf school is there. Now if you are guessing we probably do nothing but eat, drink and take naps, you are correct! A beach walk is nice to collect sea glass and shells, for hikers, walk the arroyo, access up the beach a short way.

One visit and I promise, you will come back to this condo I consider my own. Get in touch with Susan, she lives within walking distance and will take great care of you.

Our Favorite Condo in San Jose del Cabo

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in Susan's condo 3 times, and have already booked our 4th vacation for later this year. We enjoy this condo because it is quiet, well-maintained, and relaxing. Susan has it decorated in a tastefully pleasing "rustic Mexico" theme, which really works well. Each year we notice improvements and additions to the condo. The huge balcony is our favorite spot, whether it is to read, watch the waves, or just chill out.

There are restaurants, convenience stores, and a grocery, all within walking distance. No car is needed.

Susan is easy to work with, and all communication has been quick and efficient. One year she even offered us an extra night because our flight to SJD was cancelled due to weather conditions.

perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here. I really think I could have spent all of my time on the beautiful balcony. But we also enjoyed exploring the area and lounging by the pool. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming here. Susan is wonderful to work with. The bed is especially comfortable and overall the decor is beautiful. We truly hope to come back.

Best Beach vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

This was the best beach vacation ever! The things we loved: miles of sandy beach without many people, the crashing surf, watching the whales, watching the sunrise every morning, the coconut ice cream at La Dolce Villa (near the side door of Mega) watching the surfers, boogie boarding (just buy them at Mega for $10), the coconut shrimp at Zippers, sitting on the comfortable furniture on the condo baclony, breakfast at the cafe at the little 5 story hotel, dinner at Mi Casa, downtown San Jose del Cabo, the friendly people and the relaxation! The condo, the people and the surrounding area exceeded all of our expectations. We plan to come back again next year for 2 weeks.
