Guestbook comments from the owner

I am a native of Maggie Valley. I have always loved riding by your cabin dreaming that I would someday have a 'Rock' cabin to call my own. We were so excited to find your cabin available. We had a great time relaxing in your very cozy cabin. The kitchen is fabulous, all the comforts of home - you thought of every detail. Thanks for phone & wireless service. My son loved the creek, red bridge and throwing stones in the water. We enjoyed the peacefullness of Eagles Rest. Thank you, again.

Our family has made memories here that we will never forget! We can't wait to go back!!

  • 5 of 5

My family has been coming to Maggie Valley for many years now, staying at various motels and cabins each year. Several years ago, we were out just riding and I saw this little cabin from the road. My heart literally skipped a beat. It was obvious that someone lived there. I jumped out and took a picture and placed the picture in a frame beside my bed where it stayed for years. When I needed to "get away" in my mind, I would stare at my picture and pretend like I was there. Years later, I was scrolling through places to stay in Maggie Valley and low and behold the picture of this cabin popped up for vacation rental! I was beside myself! We called and booked the cabin and the rest is history. We have stayed here for at least a half dozen times and each time we stay is even better than the time before. It truly feels like our home away from home. The first year we stayed here, I had a pot of chili simmering on the stove, my husband had a fire going in the wood fireplace, my mama was napping, and all was peaceful. When I thought it couldn't get any better, I looked out the window and it was snowing! In October! This year as we stood on the porch, watching the rain, listening to the rushing stream and seeing the colorful leaves fall like snow from the trees, I knew that I had made another memory for times when I needed one. And the most exciting thing that happened this time was looking out and seeing a huge beautiful elk right across the street from us eating apples from an apple tree! It was a magnificent sight! We are making precious memories here for our children and grandchildren. That brings me peace. We see and feel our Creator here. There is something Spiritual about this place and we all feel it. The Bible says that He is preparing a mansion in heaven for us. I wonder if He will just give me a little cabin just like this one.......I'd be perfectly satisfied. :)

Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Eagles Rest Creekside! The yard was amazing and our kids loved that there was a creek right in the front yard. The cabin was awesome with everything you could possibly need. We had a wonderful vacation and would definitely stay again. Very relaxing! - K. Martin

Nice place to stay

  • 4 of 5

This was a very nice place for us. Older kids loved the loft area. Our baby had his own room and we had a large master suite. It is well appointed, has plenty of spices, cookware and towels. We stayed during spring break and had 60 degree days and snowy 7 degree days! The creek was fun to play in and to watch and listen to. The house sits close to the road, but there was not much traffic and all noise is drowned out by the creek sounds. It is conveniently located a few miles from the ski area and is close to Maggie Valley. Maggie Valley did not have much to offer this time of year, but this is a good base to visit Asheville/Great Smokies from. I would recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: Thank you for kind review. March does tend to be quiet between winter and spring/summer. Cold temperatures were lower than usual, however. So happy you were pleased with cabin. Come, again soon.

Storybook vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to experience as much of NC as we could in a week, and we got our wish. Being in Maggie Valley, we were never more than an hour from everything we wanted to do, except perhaps Biltmore, which wasn't much farther really. And it was always a beautiful welcome when we returned from our adventures.

The house and property are simply lovely and a delight for both kids and adults. We have four children, but there was plenty of room for everyone. My youngest couldn't stay away from the creek running through the yard, and we enjoyed smores and fireflies nearly every evening by the fire pit. The adults appreciated the hot tub to soak away tired muscles in the evening.

The owners were very nice and everything was well thought out and easy to find and use. We are hoping to return next year during the winter if we can, and see what the skiing and other winter activities are like!

Like a fairy tale

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was absolutely amazing. It truly felt like a home away from home. We were on a multigenerational family vacation, and everyone loved the cottage. The kitchen was fully equipped, including spices and condiments, which is not something you always find. The property was picture-perfect, with beautiful flowers, birds, chipmunks and bunnies. My favorite thing was to sit outside on the front porch in the early morning with a cup of coffee, and enjoy nature. We spent the week hiking the Smokys, so the hot tub most definitely came in handy to ease sore muscles in the evenings. Extremely close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and close to amenities like restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We will definitely be coming back.
