What a blessing to stay in this home and enjoy a family vacation. We have 3 boys ages 6, 8, and 10 and it’s our third time to stay here. It’s right down the road from skiing and the best place to come home to after the slopes. The boys spend hours playing in the creek and it’s a lovely set up for family rest relaxation and fun together! Thank you to the owners for offering your home and allowing us to make precious memories here to last a lifetime! Can’t wait to return!
Thank you for your kind words. Come back soon!
Cozy, cute and great location!!!
This place was especially nice since we were going up there for snowboarding. The owners think of everything so that you don’t have to leave to shop for basics like trash bags, laundry detergent, etc. We highly recommended the Organic Coffee shop on Soco Rd. The staff there is extremely helpful with finding local attractions and nearby hiking. We only wished we had stopped by earlier in our stay. This is especially helpful in the winter time since so many things are closed it can be challenging to find things to do. Elevation Distillery is also fun stop and very educational.
The yard is full of fresh water springs and animal footprints. So cool!!! They have done some updates inside the cabin since the last pictures were posted that look very nice.
Suggestions: we had no idea how to operate the hot tub. Instructions would have helped but we did figured it out enough to use. It was wonderful. Having to take your garbage to the dump is not something we wanted to deal with while on vacation. We managed. But, this should probably be listed in the description.
The owners were great. We had a couple of questions while we were there for them and they couldn’t have been nicer. Much thanks Pat!!
Our family has made memories here that we will never forget! We can't wait to go back!!
My family has been coming to Maggie Valley for many years now, staying at various motels and cabins each year. Several years ago, we were out just riding and I saw this little cabin from the road. My heart literally skipped a beat. It was obvious that someone lived there. I jumped out and took a picture and placed the picture in a frame beside my bed where it stayed for years. When I needed to "get away" in my mind, I would stare at my picture and pretend like I was there. Years later, I was scrolling through places to stay in Maggie Valley and low and behold the picture of this cabin popped up for vacation rental! I was beside myself! We called and booked the cabin and the rest is history. We have stayed here for at least a half dozen times and each time we stay is even better than the time before. It truly feels like our home away from home. The first year we stayed here, I had a pot of chili simmering on the stove, my husband had a fire going in the wood fireplace, my mama was napping, and all was peaceful. When I thought it couldn't get any better, I looked out the window and it was snowing! In October! This year as we stood on the porch, watching the rain, listening to the rushing stream and seeing the colorful leaves fall like snow from the trees, I knew that I had made another memory for times when I needed one. And the most exciting thing that happened this time was looking out and seeing a huge beautiful elk right across the street from us eating apples from an apple tree! It was a magnificent sight! We are making precious memories here for our children and grandchildren. That brings me peace. We see and feel our Creator here. There is something Spiritual about this place and we all feel it. The Bible says that He is preparing a mansion in heaven for us. I wonder if He will just give me a little cabin just like this one.......I'd be perfectly satisfied. :)
Thank you for your return visit. It is a blessing to share our cabin and God's Creation. Many blessings!
We loved our stay at Eagles Rest Creekside! The yard was amazing and our kids loved that there was a creek right in the front yard. The cabin was awesome with everything you could possibly need. We had a wonderful vacation and would definitely stay again. Very relaxing! - K. Martin
Thank you for your review of our property. It is much appreciated!
Nice place to stay
This was a very nice place for us. Older kids loved the loft area. Our baby had his own room and we had a large master suite. It is well appointed, has plenty of spices, cookware and towels. We stayed during spring break and had 60 degree days and snowy 7 degree days! The creek was fun to play in and to watch and listen to. The house sits close to the road, but there was not much traffic and all noise is drowned out by the creek sounds. It is conveniently located a few miles from the ski area and is close to Maggie Valley. Maggie Valley did not have much to offer this time of year, but this is a good base to visit Asheville/Great Smokies from. I would recommend staying here.
Thank you for kind review. March does tend to be quiet between winter and spring/summer. Cold temperatures were lower than usual, however. So happy you were pleased with cabin. Come, again soon.
We wanted to experience as much of NC as we could in a week, and we got our wish. Being in Maggie Valley, we were never more than an hour from everything we wanted to do, except perhaps Biltmore, which wasn't much farther really. And it was always a beautiful welcome when we returned from our adventures.
The house and property are simply lovely and a delight for both kids and adults. We have four children, but there was plenty of room for everyone. My youngest couldn't stay away from the creek running through the yard, and we enjoyed smores and fireflies nearly every evening by the fire pit. The adults appreciated the hot tub to soak away tired muscles in the evening.
The owners were very nice and everything was well thought out and easy to find and use. We are hoping to return next year during the winter if we can, and see what the skiing and other winter activities are like!
