Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-7)

'Fleming~O' is a relaxing beach house located in Morgantown with beautiful and private beaches.

You can enjoy the views from the upper or lower deck. Listen to the ocean waves or watch the children swim in one of the two pools located near the house.

You may also look for the Sea Turtles' nests as you look for shells. Ride your bicycle, play tennis or just walk along the beach. Do as much or as little as you want as you enjoy our home.

Fort Morgan is a peninsula surrounded by Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. There are many area attractions that the family will love to experience.

Favorite spots include Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge for wildlife watching, teeing it up at the world class golf courses (Kiva or Peninsula and Plantation) located within a few miles, sitting on the bay watching the boats come in while enjoying the local atmosphere and delicious food at Tacky Jack's, which is located at the beautiful new marina.

Your family will also love learning about the adventures of Fort Morgan as they roam the old fort grounds. Take the ferry to Dauphin Island for a day trip. Other area activities include shopping at Tanger Outlet Mall, Waterville USA, Gulf Shores Zoo, riding go carts and playing miniature golf.

There are many excellent restaurants in the Fort Morgan/Gulf Shores area. One of our favorites- Tin Top- is located in Bon Secour and is the perfect stop after a day of shopping in nearby Fairhope.

'Fleming~O' has a newly remodled kitchen and open floor plan to the living area. The Master Suite is privately located upstairs and includes a large bedroom, bathroom, sitting/reading room and private balcony.

This area is perfect to take in the views of the stars with the telescope! Two bedrooms are located downstairs- one with a private exit to the deck for ocean views.

Sit around the dining table for dinner or family games. The outside shower will cool you off after a day on the beach. Dogs and children are welcome.

The Perfect Place To Celebrate

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this roomy, comfortable, cozy home on Sawgrass Drive. We found everything we needed for a relaxing nearly 2-week stay to celebrate the arrival of 2017. The layout works well with one bedroom with tv and bath upstairs with a small private balcony for enjoying the night sky. There's even a telescope if you're so inclined. Downstairs two additional bedrooms share a bath and the covered porch has a pair of adirondacks perfect for curling up with a good book and listening to the surf, which is only a two-minute walk away. The kitchen was well stocked and made preparing our fresh catch easy. Covered parking worked well for our small fishing boat and trailer and there was an easy hook up for recharging batteries at the end of each day's fishing. Our golden retriever, Gabe, loved the dog friendly section of beach nearby and made several new friends in the peaceful, very pet-friendly Morgantown neighborhood. We appreciated the gate at the top of the stairs leading down from the porch to the fenced-in yard. The outdoor shower and hose worked well for rinsing fishing rods, reels and our pup's sandy paws. When the fishing slowed down, Scrabble and other games were in the closet while Tacky Jack's and Sassy Bass were nearby for dinner. After a trip to Rouses for groceries and a couple of carryout Redneck Rubens from Fish River Grill at the corner of Highway 59 and Fort Morgan Road, we found very little need to drive into town since there is a neighborhood market complete with deli items, veggies and craft beer as well as a liquor store next to Sassy Bass Grille that filled most human and dog needs. Ask if they have grouper cheeks on the menu for some seriously tasty, delicate white fish. If you'd like to recycle, the fire station next door to Sassy Bass has a couple of bins for plastic and aluminum. Down the road a few miles, The Pines had plenty of fishing bait and supplies. If you're interested in history, bird watching, fishing or a ferry ride, Fort Morgan is well worth the short drive to the end of the peninsula. We've only been home a couple of weeks and are already looking forward to a return trip!

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Visited last year for a women's retreat. This home was great. Comfortable and very clean. Beautiful porch with amazing view. Just a short walk to the beach. All immunities you would need- laundry room, kitchen supplies, 3 nice size bedrooms, central air conditioning, lovely living room. Definitely felt like home away from home. Thank you Rachel for your generosity and allowing us to enjoy our trip and make memories for a lifetime. Looking forward to visiting the area again.

Love Morgantown

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful community and wonderful rental - very clean! The fenced back yard was a life saver for our two pups. Beds are comfy and air conditioner worked great. Even though not beach front, it's just a short walk to the beach. Enjoyed Reading on the front porch and appreciated the porch gate. Take time to visit Sassy Bass ( down the street) for good food and live music - a fun relaxing meal. A wonderful visit and would rent again. Thank you Rachel!

First vacation in 5 years...

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I haven't been on vacation in 5 years and we just so happened to luck up with FlemingO. We also took our 3 year old for his first time and he loved it. The house was immaculate and decorated nicely. We had everything we needed there. We loved sitting on the porch and up top on the private balcony looking at the stars. I haven't seen anyone else mention this, so I will...Bring some type of mosquito repellant and anything with citronelle in it, cause you WILL need it. They are pretty bad at night. As other reviews stated, it is a few minutes away from all the attractions and things , but we preferred that. Especially if you like wildlife. For those who really want to get up close and personal with nature, The Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge is also on Fort Morgan Road. If you like hiking, wildlife, and nature, I highly recommend trying the Pine Beach Trail out. There's no telling what you might come across out there. There are 2 really good places we liked to eat on Fort Morgan Road...The Pines Bar and Grill is a neat little hidden place behind The Pines Grocery store. Good food and good specials for lunch. The other place is Tacky Jacks at almost the end of Fort Morgan Road, next to the Fort itself. Really good seafood and a view if you sit outside. It overlooks the dock and the bay where fishing boats come in with their catches. Really cool place to eat and visit. Also, if you like to cook, there is a Fresh Seafood Market next to the Dollar General on Fort Morgan Road, that has excellent fresh seafood. They also make homemade crab cakes that are out of this world. We visited there at least 3 times during the trip. Blalocks Seafood Market is also another good place, located back in town that has excellent fresh seafood. The neighborhood was very safe, quiet, and family oriented. We could not have been more pleased with this rental and our time there. Also, the owners were very nice people and willing to help with anything. Give this rental a try, I'm sure you'll be just as pleased as we were.
