Our favorite Nantucket house

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 2 children, black lab and I stayed at Lunasea for a week in August 2015. We've been to Nantucket four times and this was far and away our best trip. The house is in a quiet, kid friendly neighborhood. We always started the day with a bike ride around the neighborhood or on the excellent Nantucket bike paths to Madaket beach. Easy access to town and beaches. The house itself is very spacious and comfortable with an impressive kitchen. We settled right in and didn't feel like we were staying in a vacation home. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and could not do enough to make it a memorable and hassle free stay. I highly recommend Lunasea. Great house, great location.

Perfect Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 beautiful weeks at Lunasea this summer. The house was immaculate when we arrived and the kitchen was a cook's dream. We enjoyed the proximity of Madaket's bike path, the community tennis courts and the beach path just steps from the house. We hope to return again next year. Thank you Ted and Martha for a wonderful summer vacation

A delightful week at Lunasea

  • 5 of 5

There is an aphorism in real estate that says value is all about location location location. Lunasea was no exception to this rule. Nestled in a quaint and quiet neighborhood Lunasea was never far from all that Nantucket has to offer. The home easily accommodated our party of four and could absorb another couple without people feeling crammed into a box. The bedrooms and living spaces were nicely appointed and more importantly we slept well in the beds. Bathrooms were located near each bedroom and located on different floors to ensure privacy.

My son last year took a cooking class in Paris and he told us the kitchen had all the necessary accessories to prepare a wide spectrum of meals from a simple breakfast to a gourmet meal for dinner. We were delighted to have the option to eat outside on a deck that was enclosed by a very tall dense hedge that ensured privacy for eating and other activities!

For recreation we were able to walk or cycle to Madket beach on the bike path which was conveniently located to the house as was the bus line which made travel a breeze on the island. Millie's, a moderately price restaurant, serves excellent Mexican fare for lunch and dinner and is just a stone’s throw from the house or Madaket beach. Our group consisted of avid cyclists and we often cycled from Madaket beach to Sconset beach. A nice 24 mile ride on mostly flat terrain.

The close location of Lunasea to the beach bike path and bus route made all that we wanted to do very convenient with little drama. The home has a good price performance and we plan to stay at Lunasea next summer.

Lovely home in a quiet, safe, neighborhood setting, convenient to beaches and activities.

  • 5 of 5

We have rented this home twice, and look forward to returning next year. We have rented several different homes on the island over the past 27 years, and this is one of our favorites. The house is among a group of homes in a quiet area just off Madaket Road. There is a feel of a friendly, safe neighborhood. One could walk to a north shore beach in 10 minutes via a path nearby. Tennis courts are available. A car is recommended, although there are buses and bike paths. We find the location to be quite convenient to our favorite beaches and to the bike path.

The house itself is very comfortable, with spacious bedrooms with plenty of space for belongings, 2 good sized bathrooms, and an excellent kitchen. We usually alternate eating out and cooking in, and find the kitchen to be well-appointed and very functional. There's an outdoor grille, a delightful outdoor shower and deck, and the grounds are kept up very nicely. The home is air-conditioned, and pet-friendly.

The owners are a lovely couple, who are proud of their home and make every effort for their guests to enjoy a pleasant stay.

We highly recommend this property.

Lunasea/Madaket Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I were excited to stay at Lunasea based on VRBO information. Once we saw the house, our expectations were more than met. everyone in our family enjoyed the house, including our 6 month old grandson.

And the owners are friendly, helpful and very easy to work with. They are a very nice family.

This was one of our best years in Nantucket, thanks in part to this home and its owners. We hope to be back often.
