Overview

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

This little brown cabin was built in 1946 and sets on the slopes of Eagle Cliff Mountain. It has been in the Brown family for 50 years and has been very well maintained. The cabin is in a quiet area with the other cabins at a very comfortable distance. You can enjoy the views of Longs Peak from the front porch or watch the deer and elk who are frequent visitors. With its knotty wood enterior and rustic charm it makes for a great Rocky mountain getaway.

The bedroom, kitchen, bathroom (shower only), an all window dining porch, and living room are all on one level. In the loft it has 3 single beds which is perfect for children. Also if the full bed in the bedroom is not big enough it has a very comfortable queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.

This cabin is perfect for couples that are looking to honeymoon in Estes, anniversaries, birthdays, or any other special occasion. It also has plenty of room for another couple in the loft area.

This cabin is to be enjoyed during the summer season.

Best location

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our family of five. We could hardly get the kids out of the loft. The loft had very low ceilings, so I wouldn't recommend adults try to sleep there. The bathroom was also tiny, but worked ok for us. Overall, this cabin has a lot of space. The location cannot be beat...only 5 minutes to RMNP entrance and 5 minutes to Estes Park, and felt very private, with neighbors nearby, but not extremely close. I loved browsing the book collection and the board games that I recognized from my childhood. We were delighted to wake up one morning and look out the windows to discover we were surrounded on three sides by a herd of grazing elk! They remained there most of the day...we left for a hike and came back that afternoon to find them still hanging out. The wi-fi worked perfectly. There is no A/C and it did get hot during the day, but there were several box fans that we were able to use to improve the temperature. I did a lot of research for this trip...I'm pretty sure I priced every hotel and cabin in the area and this is a great deal for what you get!

Just Like Coming Home!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely love the Little Brown Cabin. It feels like we are coming home when we walk in the door. The cabin is very clean and tidy. We love the little sunroom where you can eat breakfast and watch elk and deer roam around the cabin. The living room has a large picture window with a great view of Long's Peak. My wife loves to plop down in one of the chairs in the living room and read a book. I appreciate the great internet connection there. It is super for posting pictures that you took during a hike. There is a nice little desk to put your computer on. The upstairs is really cool for kids. It has 3 single beds up there with books and games and other things to keep kids occupied. The location of the cabin is excellent. You can be in RMNP in minutes and the downtown area is not far away either. Plus the cabin is a little off the beaten path so the nights are nice and quiet. The owners are great people who do the utmost to make sure everything is in tip top condition for your stay. I highly recommend the Little Brown Cabin for your vacation stay and we look forward to coming back again soon.

always great!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying at the little Brown cabin, it was just as great as the first! Is always so clean and well kept. We loved the addition of wifi! Again, we had multiple wildlife "friends" come and visit, making it extra special for our daughter (who has named one of the mule deer Geoffrey :) the location is also perfect, close enough to downtown but far enough away to feel tenor and just mere minutes from RMNP.

Cute, vintage, clean, nice location. Very comfortable but this is not a place for tall people as the loft is tricky with slanted roof lines and the bathroom is tiny. Check out time needs to be later as 10:00 is too early.

Little Brown Cabin - Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I spent 4 nights at the “Little Brown Cabin” and loved it. It was very clean and comfortable with mountain views from the living room. A nice feature was the closed-in sun porch where we had dinner some evenings. While having dinner in the sun porch one evening, 3 deer walked by our window.

The cabin seemed bigger than the pictures on the website show. We had plenty of luggage as we were traveling for 3 weeks and didn’t feel crowded at all.

The bathroom is rather small, but the shower area wasn’t.

We totally enjoyed our stay in this cute cabin with the entrance of RMNP being so close as well as visiting downtown Estes Park.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

The little brown cabin was perfect for me. I stayed alone so I had plenty of room. The location made it very easy to get to town and trail heads. It had everything I needed and was very comfortable. I would highly recommend it.
