We welcome you to our one bedroom condo in beautiful Kamaole Beach Royale #408, located on Maui's Sunshine Coast, just a short walk from one of Maui's most beautiful sugar sand beaches, Kamaole Beach #1.

The unit is fully equipped for all your vacation needs from baking pans to beach towels. Just bring your swimming suit and get ready to relax. You will find all the comforts of home with a wide screen TV, CD player and free Wi-fi. Our condo is located on the fourth floor with a fantastic view of the ocean to watch the neighbor islands of Kahoolawe, Molokini, and Lanai brighten up with each new day, watch the whales play and enjoy romantic sunsets.

KBR features a pool, fantastic roof top barbecues with eating area, and lush gardens.

Excellent snorkeling and swimming is just a short walk down to the beach. A few blocks north you can take a surfing lesson and rent a Kayak. A few blocks south is the Kihei boat launch where boats can take you out for a SCUBA dive, swim with the dolphins or snorkel with the turtles. A little further south is Wailea for your Golfing fun.

'Everything under the sun' kind of outdoor activity is nearby as well as great restaurants and world class golf. Fine dining and up scale shopping will be found in Wailea, only minutes away.

Or, more moderately priced restaurants and shops are found right in Kihei.

About Laurie or Nancy (when mom is unavailable)

We are the Holmstrom's. Steve and Laurie, and Linnea. Our parents were original owners of our condo when Kihei was still a dirt road in the country. They have passed on and we continue to enjoy our little corner of paradise.

Steve and Laurie live in San Pedro Calif Where Steve is retired from Veterinary Dentistry and keeps busy training our border collie, Hana Hou, and Laurie retired from Dental Hygiene. She manages our rental properties and keeps busy with clubs and friends. We have two children that live nearby and one grandchild that is the best grandchild ever!

Linnea lives in Westminster and works for a medical computer company and has a long haired dachshund, Gracie to share her home.

Why Laurie or Nancy (when mom is unavailable) chose Kihei

The property was purchased pre-construction in 1973, by Steve's parents. His father had trained for the Pacific Campaign in WWll on the beaches in Kihei, and vowed to come back after the war. As they approached retirement they no longer wanted to handle the rentals and upkeep of the Kamole Beach Royale and handed it over to Steve and Linnea. We have been the owners since 1986. We come every year to enjoy the beautiful Maui beach and waters and relax from our busy lives.

What makes this condo unique

We enjoy Scuba diving as you can see from the photos that decorate our space. We also enjoy the upcountry areas for organic dining and the artists tucked up in the hills The island style is also a favorite and the spectacular views from almost anywhere on the island can vary from a goat farm to watching wind surfers or whales, to deep tropical forests, all in the same day.

Location cannot be beat!

Nice little condo, well equipped, great ocean view, 3 mins. from the beach. A couple of deficits - the shag carpet must go! It’s just never feels clean - laminate hardwood would be so much better. Also the sofa bed is barely a sofa & not even close to a bed. It has 3 or 4 broken springs - we actually took the mattress off and slept on it on the floor. Annoying. However, if those two things were fixed, I would be back in a second.

Perfect location next to beach, shops and restaurants. Super clean with everything you need. The view from the lanai was gorgeous, a very relaxing place to sip wine at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

Another Perfect Stay

Our second stay in 408 with no disappointments. The unit is well equipped with amazing views and everything you could need is within walking distance. We never used the a/c, as opening the windows and letting the breeze through was plenty to cool us down. Can’t wait to return. Thanks again!

Met All Expectations, no Disappointments

Property was as described and met all my expectations. The trade winds were very light or non-existent during the week I visited, which made for a warm stay. The air-conditioning was a welcome amenity. It did not cool the bedroom as much as I would like, but it was enough for sleeping.

I ended up barely using my car rental since I was happy walking to the four nearby beaches and all the dining nearby. Although personal belongings are fairly safe while unattended at the beaches, I liked that I didn't have to worry about leaving valuables or keys on the beach as I could leave all in the condo. All I needed to worry about was not getting sunburned. Snorkeling was great along all the rocky points separating each beach (Charlie Young Beach, and Kamaole Beaches I, II, and III). I saw turtles, tons of fishes and eels. The best sighting I had was of an eel with fluorescent green stripes.

It was great to doze off on the balcony listening to the sound of the surf. The ocean view was much appreciated, especially under a full moon. It was also great to listen to the morning birdsong at dawn. I could make out the sounds of doves, mynahs birds, love birds, and the grey francolins. You can't mistake the call of the grey francolins . . . they are the loudest in the morning, but they're such quiet birds at all other times during the day.

Do be aware that you'll need to provide for most bathroom toiletries but liquid hand soap was available. Fortunately this unit was available in January when I plan to return to Kihei and I've already re-booked for a second stay.

Close to beach with amazing views

Loved staying here. Within walking distance of beach, shops and food in all directions. Rooftop was beautiful to view. The A/C unit was in the living room so for my husband and I the bedroom didn't get cold enough to sleep at night so we slept in the living room all week. We still loved our stay and had an amazing time.

The beach is one of the best in Maui and it's just across the street. The trip to the top of Haleakala is best done the mooring of the first day because you are awake early anyway. The sunrise is worth the 2 hr drive. Scuba and snorkeling trips are easy to arrange with Scuba Shack that just around the corner from the condo(gas station). A Luau is a unique Hawaiian experience that is very popular. Old Lahaina Luau is very good and make reservations before you come if possible!
