We love the North Shore of Oahu, magical, peaceful and spectacular! I think you will love it too. This particular house truly has an amazing mana. 'Mana' is the Hawaiian word for energy. I know you might think it sounds weird, however, once you experience it, you will know what I mean.
I used to deliver yachts around the world and this is truly one of the most incredible places on this planet. Come see for yourself!
Ocean breeze, world class surfing, diving, swimming, snorkeling, beaches, restaurants, turtles, dolphins, whales, beautiful people.......we have it all!
Not to mention our tiki bar, whoa! This is one of Hawaii's true blessings.
Thank you so much for this amazing stay! It was a perfect location for us between Haleiwa and Kahuku! We only wish we could have enjoyed the house (and the killer tiki bar) for longer! We'll be back soon. All the best, Meredith and Alpine Stars Team
Large Indonesian-style house. We got slightly lost trying to find it due to the address not being on our printed-out material when we had no internet and had foreign phones with expensive data.We then had a bit of trouble with opening the key-safe but got in OK in the end. Large spacious house with high rafters (some of the high bolts looked pretty loose!). The low wall partitions between the rooms meant that every small noise (think bathrooms and bedrooms) could be heard throughout the house. No air-conditioning made the house very hot in the late afternoon and the roosters started at about 4.00am (a bit later when it was raining). Other than that, the house was comfortable and fairly well supplied (a vacuum cleaner for the glass my daughter broke may have prevented 3 of us getting tiny glass fragments in our feet. There may have been one but we couldn't find it.) Took a couple of days to find the kitchen sink plug and detergent (they were outside!) and there was no dish brush or pot scourer. The kitchen area was spacious and well equipped with crockery and glassware. It was a pity that a kitchen that size didn't have a dishwasher. The bedrooms and bathrooms were well presented, clean and well made up. There was some snorkelling gear, beach umbrella and chairs and boogie boards there for use (which we availed ourselves of). The local beaches were great... Three Tables Beach very handy, Shark's Cove about 500m north had good snorkelling with lots of fish( as in fact did Three Tables) and Waimea Bay had beautiful sand and clear water (and rock jumping for some). The Foodland Pupukea shop was also handy for getting groceries.
We had a really good stay and while some things were unable to be resolved (the roosters), an airconditioner and dishwasher would certainly have helped. Overall we still give it 4 stars as it was a great base.
Our family of 6 (4 teenagers) loved our recent stay at Luana II and were sorry to leave. The house was spacious, clean and close to all that the north shore has to offer. Samuel gave us some helpful tips which added to our enjoyment. We managed to see some of the Banzai pipeline competition which was awesome! We had a couple of rainy days which didn't stop us from doing anything. Waimea Bay is beautiful but make sure you are surf aware before jumping in - the waves have a lot of power behind them (perhaps this is a winter thing though)! We went horseriding at Gunstock Ranch, swimming with the sharks through North Shore Shark Adventures, snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking, and shopping at Haleiwa and did our own amazing race around the maze at the Dole plantation. We had a few drives and had a great half day at the Polynesian Cultural Centre in Laie - more fun than I thought it was going to be. Make sure you try the food trucks (Souvaly at Haleiwa was stunning) and had a beautiful meal at Jameson's on our last evening. While we were there Samuel brought around new mattress toppers for the beds which made them even more comfortable. He cares about his visitors! I highly recommend this lovely house and can testify that the photos are accurate. We are dreaming of a return visit.
Even thinking about your home now makes me relax and kind of makes me feel like crying. It was so serene, the bed sheets were so soft, the home was so peaceful, smells of wood and sea air, like home but more relaxed, the stones in the shower were majestic, the proximity to the shops was so convenient, the three choices of beaches added so much variety. I only wish we had had a few or many more days. My favorite of our three stops this trip.
This was definately a gem. We were looking for a vacation rental to ease our move transition from the mainland and wanted to stay in a place that met our needs of a home, and was child friendly. This place was it. The northshore is such a pleasant place to stay at in Hawaii, we enjoyed the snorkling, surf, beaches, and the local eateries in town. Fabulous! You are also within walking distance to the grocery store around the corner. We stayed for 2 weeks, and it felt like home. It had everything we needed. We also had two little kids (2.5 years, and 1 year) and it was child friendly. The owners Samuel and Vanessa were wonderful, and if we needed anything they were quick to respond via text or calling us back promptly during our stay. Wifi was great, along with the other amenities. Very big plus to have a washer and dryer too! Very Safe and Secure location, cause it is within a gated area. Very comforting to go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the ocean. Would definately stay here again, or refer to friends if they come visit Oahu. The pictures do not do it justice, you have to see for yourself, but I can bet you will not be disappointed.
We really enjoyed staying at this property. What we enjoyed most was that it was so quiet and out of the way compared to most places on the island. It wasn't too quiet as you're right across the street from the ocean and it's an easy walk to the beach, but there is a lot less traffic and people around. The tiki bar area was fun for hanging out at or just sitting on the porch looking at the waves was great. The property itself was great - bedrooms were large; bathrooms were very nice; kitchen was great. Would recommend to anyone just wanting to get away to a more quiet, secludwed area.
The electronic gate that keeps you and your valuables safe and secluded opens to reveal the crashing waves of Three Tables Beach. The owners are personable and demonstrate true Hawaiian hospitality. If you want to avoid the busy, large-city feel of Honolulu and truly enjoy the beautiful island of Oahu this is the area to do it in, and why not have a beautiful home just outside of Haleiwa town to use as home base?
My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights (extended our original stay) and we both have nothing but good to say about the property. Spacious accommodations, ample storage, well stocked kitchenware but in Hawaii its all about the lanai, and this one is exceptionally comfortable, served us well as a planning point for our activities:
Day 1, we sat beach-side for a sunset at Three Tables beach, which is literally across the street. Gorgeous, warm water, and surf friendly it is smaller and more private than our favorite beach in Pupukea (North Haleiwa) Waimea Bay Beach. We spent copious amounts of time soaking in the sun in this picturesque bay. Farther away from the property, the walk carrying chairs and a sun umbrella takes under 5 minutes. By day you can snorkel, cliff-dive, body surf, people-watch or just absorb the Hawaiian sun, but as evening approaches find a spot to enjoy a remarkable sunset experience. One of ours included a sun setting on the water while a remote sailboat passed on the horizon, local fisherman cast their nets behind us, a sea kayaker came ashore, while a silhouetted hula dancer ceremoniously bid adieu to the sun from the cliffs lining the bay.
Practicality should never be overlooked on any successful vacation plan and the property is less than 1/2 block from a large (by Hawaiian standards) grocery, surf/snorkel rentals, food trucks. Historic Haleiwa town is a 5-10 min drive for the North Shore tourist experience, and what is more practical for beach-goers than being centrally located on the 7-mile miracle (you'll find out!).
We spent another beach day and watched a leg of the Triple Crown Professional Surf Contest at world-famous Sunset Beach (5 min drive). The most recognizable wave in the world is slightly closer (3 min drive) and will host another leg of the event. The Bonsai Pipeline is something surfers and site seers alike should experience.
Lastly the owners of property were easy to work with and very hospitable while honoring our privacy and making sure we had all of the information we needed to enjoy our stay
