Great Locations

  • 4 of 5

After a couple contacts with Leilani, we came to an agreed amount to rent this property. It is in a great location from town, the water and other cities to explore. Leilani was mixed up with our check in date and the procedure for getting in wasn't in place, but I contacted Leilani and she was very accommodating to make sure we were able to get in the house and everything was set.

Although we knew about the 10am check out time, we didn't know that we would be required to start the laundry (sheets/towels)which was on the welcome sheet and not included in the contract. If not started, we would be charged $25 per load for any time the cleaning crew was over their 4 hour schedule. We did a couple loads to make sure we wouldn't lose any of security deposit. This made our departure feel rushed and limited our time with our kids before going our separate ways.

My only suggestion would be, if you still want renters to start laundry, offer them a later departure time. Other than that, it was a great stay and a very enjoyable house/location!!

Castle Farms is a must to go to.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. I am so glad you enjoyed your location and all that the surrounding area has to offer. Charlevoix, offering a variety of enjoyable venues, is truly a beautiful spot to visit. I am sorry your were inconvenienced by the stipulation that laundry be started prior to departure. In an effort to ensure that all guests are greeted with fresh, clean linens, it is necessary to expedite the laundry process. I hope you will find another opportunity to visit Charlevoix. Visitors are always welcome!

5 stars- Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This Charlevoix cottage was a great alternative to staying in a hotel. It was spacious, quiet and well equipped. My family has been traveling to Northern Michigan on Labor day weekend for the last 16 yrs and this was by far the best place to stay. My only suggestion is to have a laminated TV channel listing to find the weather channel so we could plan our daily adventures.

A Treasure!!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a fabulous vacation in Charlevoix made possible by Leilani and her well appointed cottage. Conveniently located on a quiet street within walking distance to Bridge Street, we enjoyed the grill and outdoor patios as well as the cottage itself. You will not be disappointed. Thank you again for a great week.

We loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

This comfortable, extremely clean and quiet house allowed our extended family of 6 plenty of space to spread out. It is located on a quiet, residential street within walking distance of downtown and the beach. There is also a pretty, quaint backyard which includes lawn furniture and a fire pit. My two college-aged kids enjoyed making s'mores at the fire pit.

We would definitely stay here again. There is a homey feel to this place!

Tip: There is a nice grocery store near the K-Mart just outside of downtown (too far to walk).

Clean, Quiet & Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son, daughter-in-law, grandson and I recently spent a delightful week at Burns Street Cottage. The cottage is just as it appears in the pictures-spacious and clean. The backyard is very pretty with perennials, a picnic table, and a nice fire pit. The owner was prompt in answering our queries, available if needed, and also prompt in returning our damage deposit.

The cottage is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of both downtown and Depot Beach on Lake Charlevoix. We also drove about 2 miles to the McSauba recreation area where there are nature trails, dunes and a beach on Lake Michigan (no lifeguard, lightly populated). It’s also easy to bicycle to the Little Traverse Wheelway trail which runs between Charlevoix and Harbor Springs. My husband and I biked to and from Petoskey one day – 36 miles in all on an awesome trail.

Among its offerings, we enjoyed Charlevoix’s wonderful library, interesting “mushroom houses”, good restaurants, and friendly people. We can definitely recommend both visiting the town and staying at this cottage.

A great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have been to Charlevoix many times and rented different homes and condos, this home was one of our favorites. It is very clean and plenty of room for 6 adults. We loved the fire pit in the large back yard. The owner Leilani was very easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again.
