Situated on a 105-acre working organic farm this renovated farmhouse is a perfect home away from home with all of the amenities you'd expect. Our farm, a tranquil setting with amazing views in every season, is located in Walpole, New Hampshire, a quaint Currier and Ives village, said to be one of the most picturesque towns in all of New England. Walpole is located along the Connecticut River Scenic Byway on the Vermont border creating the ideal location to explore all that southern New Hampshire and Vermont have to offer.
We’ve operated as a bed and breakfast known as the Inn at Valley Farms for 17 years and have won numerous awards for our accommodations and hospitality. Visit our website and Facebook page for more pictures, details and links to area attractions and be sure to check out all of our excellent reviews on Trip Advisor.
Our rates are based on a 7 night (week-long) stay. A minimum stay of 3 nights is required for a reservation, but is charged at a higher rate/night than a week-long stay. Rates per night between 3 and 7 nights decrease based on length of stay (please inquire) and long term rentals are possible January – May.
On the first floor of the Farmhouse there is a large kitchen, a living room, a full bathroom, and one bedroom with a king-sized bed. On the second floor are two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with two twin beds, as well as a bathroom with a shower. There is a sofa bed in the living room on the first floor which could sleep two additional guests. With southern exposure the rooms are always bright and airy with beautiful original, wide hardwood floors and braided rugs throughout.
This is a self-catering accommodation so breakfast is not included as it is for our B&B guests, but we stock the farmhouse's kitchen with breakfast basics like local glass bottle milk, premium OJ, organic coffee/tea, and a dozen of our own farm fresh eggs to get you started. Farmhouse guests have access to the bounty of our extensive organically managed gardens which include small fruits and a wide variety of herbs, edible flowers and vegetables. Our own pasture-raised meats (100% grass-fed steak, burger, hot dogs, heritage pork chops, sausages, nitrate free bacon and sausage, pasture raised chicken and turkey, homemade jams and locally made maple syrup and honey, etc.) and additional farm fresh eggs are available for purchase from our farm store.
Guests are encouraged to follow along and help with daily farm chores if they like to get a real taste of farm life and learn about our sustainable farming methods. Hike our woodland walking trail, walk to neighboring Alyson’s Orchard to pick 100+ varieties of fruit in season, visit Walpole’s world renown chocolatier, fine dining, unique shops, historic village, winery for wine tasting and amazing views, farm stands, farmers markets, petting farms, and hidden natural swimming holes. Relax in the rocking chairs on the farmer's porch in the late afternoon sun overlooking the grazing fields before you. Play horse shoes or use the wood provided to build a fire in our great stone fire pit while you wait for the amazing night sky to reveal a beautiful display of stars. Gas grill with propane and picnic table provided. Swing set/jungle gym, sand box, child toys, pack and plays, baby gates and booster chairs available at no extra cost. About Owner/Property Manager
I grew up in Walpole, moved away and never thought I'd be back to this rural community, but now that I'm here raising my family I couldn't imagine a better place to live. Lots of open space, fresh air, starlit skies, interaction with animals and nature and all things 'real'.
Owner/Property Manager purchased this Farmhouse in 1998
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Walpole
Along with my brother and sister-in-law and my parents we as a family have worked together since 1998 to bring this defunct dairy farm back to it's former glory. We're passionate about caring for this historic property, raising real food sustainably, providing you with as clean and comfortable a stay as possible and sharing a glimpse of farm life with you during your stay. Just a short walk from the Farmhouse is our B&B where we rent 3 Inn guest rooms and also 2 cottages. Should your party exceed the maximum sleeping number of the farmhouse or your friends plan to visit during your stay you have additional separate sleeping capacity right on site. Since we also operate a B&B on the property we have additional amenities such as a fully stocked rental (not only linens and towels, but milk, juice, farm fresh eggs upon arrival too) and concierge services to help make your stay perfect. Being a grass-based sustainable farm with more than 100 acres the surroundings are clean and quiet with no light pollution to spoil the amazing night skies. Our location is rural yet just minutes to downtown Walpole - the best of both worlds. Walpole has been a draw for centuries for notable visual and literary artists and is now home to a world renown chocolatier, fine dining, a local tavern, a winery with the most amazing views, cheese makers, farm stands, locally made ice cream, an art cooperative, several unique shops and more.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We're a grass based organically managed farm raising 100% grass-fed beef, heritage breeds of pork, pasture raised chickens, turkeys and eggs. Our meat products are for sale right from the farm and we encourage our guests to pick from our extensive organic vegetable and flower gardens during their stay (with permission) to create a true one-of-a-kind farm-to-table meal. Follow along and help with daily morning farm chores to learn about sustainable farming, collect your own still warm farm fresh eggs for breakfast, visit the farm animals, hike our on site woodland trails or walk to neighboring orchard to pick nearly 100 varieties of fruit including raspberries, blueberries, peaches, pears, sweet cherries, sour cherries, nectarines and nearly a 100 varieties of apples. If you wish for a simpler time and love fresh, clean food there's no better place to get a taste. If you're looking to explore the region, being on the border of Vermont and just north of Massachusetts our farmhouse is ideally located to explore all the other magnificent little 'gems' this region has to offer - explore high class museums, fine dining, petting farms, amazing views, hiking, awesome natural swimming holes, golf, hang gliding, zip lining and more.

Beautiful house and property. We loved it!
We're so glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us Hannah! We hope to welcome you back to the farm again real soon! Take good care, Jackie
We stayed at the Sunnyside farmhouse with our 2 kids ages 2 and 5 and the grandparents, and had a great time! We really enjoyed being close up with the animals (I especially loved waking up to see the cows grazing just outside our window, and our kids especially loved the pigs). I liked teaching them where our food comes from and we all learned more about sustainable farming. As a family run inn and farm, we felt very welcomed. Thank you, Jackie and Caitlin! The farmhouse was clean and it was nice to cook most of our meals in the kitchen. We bought chickens and beef raised there on the farm to cook and enjoy! A specialty local market and a bigger supermarket are close by. Our kids also really liked the little playground. The view from the farmhouse of the hills dotted with color and the pastures was beautiful. Alyson's apples being right next door was fantastic. We did a lot of apple picking.
Location wise, I was so pleased. Being from the west coast, I had no idea what to expect, but Walpole is such a cute, quintessential New England town and the Monadnock region is just ideal for viewing fall foliage. Though we were told it wasn't a great year for colors, it was still so beautiful. We didn't have to travel very far to see covered bridges, visit an organic dairy farm or go hiking. You can go on a beautiful hike right on the farm's property, in fact! In addition, you have easy access to VT as Walpole lies right along the Connecticut river. If we had more time and the hurricaine hadn't taken out some of the roads, we definitely would've spent more time in VT as well.
Bottom line, I highly recommend Inn at Valley Farms if you want to relax, enjoy nature and organic farming and explore the surrounding areas.
Our picture-perfect farm is an easy 20 minute drive from Keene, NH and on the border of Vermont making Walpole a perfect choice to explore all our beautiful region has to offer. As part of our bed and breakfast our accommodations include three individual rooms and two 3-bedroom cottages collectively capable of sleeping up to 28 guests if you need additional overflow lodging. Visit the farm animals and help with morning chores while you tour our organically managed pasture-based farm to learn where real food comes from. Our farm raises 100% grass-fed beef, pasture-raised heritage pork, chickens, turkeys and eggs which are available for purchase from our farm store. We also raise a wide variety of produce, herbs, edible and cut flowers, and small fruits (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries) and we invite guests to share in the bounty of our extensive gardens during the growing season. If cooking is not your thing we suggest visiting our new family venture, the Hungry Diner. A farm-to-table restaurant Hike our interpretive woodland trail or cross country ski right out the front door. Walk to nearby orchard that grows nearly 200 varieties of fruit to Pick-Your-Own raspberries, blueberries, peaches, plums, pears, apples, pumpkins, winter squash and more in season. Don't miss a trip to world renown Burdick Chocolates for a taste of some of the world's best chocolates, fine European pastries or enjoy lunch or dinner in their French inspired bistro which uses many locally sourced foods from neighboring farms. A tavern, diner, pizza parlor, and local grocery all in town as well. Be sure to visit Walpole Mountain View Winery which offers tours and tastings and breathtaking views from its hilltop location. Premium ice cream, locally produced cheese, farmers' markets, free Sunday concerts on the town common, an art cooperative, several unique shops, one of the U.S.'s top rated 9-hole golf courses, 17 conservation areas, swimming holes and more all located right in our quaint New England village. Covered bridges, antique shops, tax-free shopping, unique museums, and more swimming holes abound nearby. We've lived in the area for more than 35 years and are happy to help you plan your stay based on your interests, just ask.
