Property description

If you're looking for a comfortable apartment right in the middle of Seattle, St. John's is a great choice. We're in a very central location and the building is loaded with character. We've kept the original 1910 woodwork and hardwood floors and decorated with good taste and comfort in mind. This apartment is a one bedroom with a large living room with queen sized sleeper. The sleeper is one of those new types that is all foam, quite comfortable even for adults, and it makes a queen sized bed. The bedroom has a queen bed. Both the living room and the bedroom have LCD TV's with DVD players. The living room also has a writing desk and a couple of very comfortable stuffed chairs. The bath has a five foot shower. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials and includes a full sized gas range.

This is a great location to walk to all of Seattle's sights. And it's a great place to be when you want to come home and relax. We're a 10 minute walk from the convention center, 15 minute walk from the downtown shopping district, 20 minute walk from Pike Place Market - but we think you never need to leave Capitol Hill, which is the heart of the action for incredible dining, music, entertainment and more!

Lastly, please be aware that this is an urban environment! In any urban core, you can expect to hear street noise, often late into the evening. If a silent outdoor environment is important to you, downtown Seattle (or any big city for that matter) may not be the best place for you to stay. That being said, we think St. John's is an incredible place to experience the city from, and we've installed triple-pane windows to reduce the noise as well as put white noise machines in the bedroom to make sure you sleep easy. This unit is our quietest in the whole building, with the bedroom window going into a light well that is protected from the street.

We're in the middle of the Pike/Pine Corridor. Pike St. and Pine St. run parallel to each other from downtown up onto Capitol Hill. This area is currently enjoying a lively trend in business, with many new restaurants, bars, night spots, boutiques and specialty shops.

About: St. John's is owned by Oda Egeland. The short term apartments are her home away from home and she stays in them regularly when they are available. Bryce manages the short term rentals, he handles all of the booking, correspondence, and check ins. Johnny is our live-in building manager and resident handyman. We keep trying to improve the apartments and make them more like a home, super comfy and with all the conveniences you could possibly want.

Why Downtown, Seattle, WA, USA:
St. John's is in the middle of Seattle, on Pike Street, right next to a large grocery store and surrounded by interesting shops and restaurants. It's in the middle of the most happening of all neighborhoods! There are three restaurants in the building, two more on our block, and dozens in the surrounding blocks. Plus there are lots of small stores and shops, lots of fun stuff. Two blocks away, for book lovers, is Seattle's oldest and best bookstore, Elliott Bay Books. It's a must see--a wonderful old building with a tremendous selection. And if you're into music, right next door to Elliot Bay Books is EveryDay Music, which is a huge music and video store. Got kids? Right across the street is Cal Anderson Park, jammed full of playing fields, sport courts and play areas with swings and such for the young ones. All in all ours is a great location!
