Gulf front townhouse in right on the beach of Florida's beautiful Forgotten Coast. This cozy unit comfortably sleeps six and provides a screened porch and patio that overlooks the large community pool and beach.

The townhouse is located on Highway C-30 between Cape San Blas and Indian Pass where the beaches are wide and very child and pet friendly. This remote area does not have any high rises or crowded beaches like Panama City and Destin.

Gulf County offers great fishing in the Gulf and St. Joe Bay, access to water sports and activities, and boasts of the fabulous St. Joseph State Park and the award winning beaches of Cape San Blas.

Come and enjoy a relaxing vacation at the beach where you can put your toes in the sand and escape .... you may even catch sight of some dolphin.

Why Dawn Adams chose Port St. Joe

We truly enjoy the wide beaches and uncrowded beaches of this great location. We have several rental units in Gulf County and plan to eventually retire in the area. The great fishing in both the Bay and Gulf was definitely an attraction for one of us! The beautiful beaches and small-town friendly atmosphere certainly added to the charm of the area as well!

What makes this townhome unique

We love to scallop during the summer months and eat oysters all year long!! The fishing is good at all different times of the year too. The beach is great for long walks and we can often do so without ever seeing another person. We like to catch crabs in the bayou and take a sea kayak out in the bay.

As far as the place it is nice. I wish I could have seen the ocean from downstairs though. The view upstairs was great. The only thing is there is not alot of amenties in the apartment. Dryer did not work, so we couldn't wash anything. One thing I wish they would fix is the way to get to the beach. My dad fell trying to get down on beach. Not a good entrance to beach if you are older. Also, a good idea would be to put a rail all the way up the stairs on the inside of the house. My husband almost fell down them when he had to carry the luggage down the stairs. It was not easy for me to get down them had to hold on to the wall upstairs and take the steps sideways to go down. Location was great between Port st Joe and Applachcola. Only other thing is that it was avertized to have a King size bed and a Queen size bed upstairs. There is a King size bed and two twins. My mom and dad had to sleep in twin beds. Internet connection did not work. However, we did have a great time and enjoyed our time together at the house. The dogs had plenty of room to go outside. My mom and dad had a great time. Thanksgiving turned out to be great this year.

Beach was Great

We do not take a vacation every year so we were very excited. 1st morning we woke to noise outside our townhouse.. workers hammering on OUR town house .Since we were awake we decided to go to the beach.. We had to ask them to move their ladder so we could get out the door. Came back after a hour .. workers still at OUR townhouse.

The screened in porch was filthy . some one had taken hooks off their fishing lines and left them on the floor. I am so glad I found them before my dog stepped on one of them.

Next day workers still there.. this day pressure washing buildings.. I tried to enjoy the pool .. the noise from the machine prevented hearing the oceans waves.. I did not need to get in the pool to cool off ... the water from the machine took care of that.

Well the televisions were terrible. Downstairs the TV was so old,, the one upstairs was so dark you could not see the programs.

The other guests did not pick up after their dogs .. and let their dogs use the grass outside our Townhouse. I picked up dog poop everyday.

The sheets on the Master bed where not clean. I washed and replaced them.

I loved the beach and the area ,. not the Townhouse.

I understand you need to keep up the building .. but I think it could have waited until we checked out..

The workers were there everyday of our vacation..

Owner's Response: I am so sorry that this guest had a negative experience. I was not aware that work was scheduled for the exterior of the building during their stay. Actually, this review was the first I heard about it. I wish the guests had contacted me or my local property manager; we would have done our best to rectify their issues immediately. I have other rental units in the area and our property manager has over 250. We would have been happy to move them or compensate for their inconvenience. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do after the fact. The televisions are scheduled for replacement next month. Again, any other issues would have been addressed by the Property Manager had they been given the opportunity. We want all our guests to have a wonderful, restful vacation and strive to make their stay in our unit a happy one. It is disappointing that we did not achieve our goal with this guest.

Awesome Beach Getaway!

My husband & I stayed here and fell in love with the place. After the recent remodel I must say the contractor did a great job on bringing this unit up to a modern, clean, & comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed the pool, but the beach was fantastic. We had beautiful views, & took many pictures to remember our stay. Modern kitchen, beautiful furnishings, & decor was quite pleasant to us & our guests. Love the kitchen ceiling, & the white cabinets, reminding us of a beachside cottage. Plenty of dinnerware, cooking utensils, & glassware. The entire unit was sparkling clean upon our arrival. We had previously stayed here last spring, & were very impressed with the whole condo makeover since our last stay. The new staircase was a very nice and modern touch, better than the carpet from years before. the white railings really opening and brightened the room and hallway. We are looking forward to another stay at 'Cape Destiny' later this summer! My friends are now wanting to come stay and enjoy the great location. I would definitely say this is a gem waiting to be seen!

Had an blast!

What a great vacation spot! My family and I really enjoyed the uncrowded beach and pool. The condo was nice and very clean. We got a lot of use out of the screened porches and even saw dolphins swimming by on a couple of mornings. We also had great luck fishing right on the beach and even tried our hand at crabbing. Our dog had better luck with the crabs then us. We still had a blast! Especially being able to drop in a kayak right off the beach, and getting to explore all the back water ways and canals. We will definately return to this area and hope to stay at the same rental if possible. Thank you!

Repairs and Updating Needed

The beach here is very nice and wide. There is plenty of space and privacy. The pool is not usually crowded and is nice and close to the unit. The pictures are accurate as shown. WHAT YOU DON'T SEE is the front window of the unit that is duct taped, a toilet that is taped up with SCOTCH tape where it is broken, broken sliding screen doors on the master balcony, loose tiles in the main entryway and kitchen, majorly old school tvs, a VCR player (no dvd), a really loud microwave, and general disrepair almost everywhere you look. It needs some serious repair and updating. The light switches for the bathroom in the master are outside of the bathroom. You need to bring your own cookware and utensils because most of the stuff in this unit are unusable-pans aren't even flat on the bottom so you can cook with them. I would never have paid this kind of money to stay here had I known. We own 7 rental houses ourselves and this is NOT acceptable. We are disappointed to say the least. I would not recommend this property. We are looking elsewhere to come back to this area.

Owner's Response: We are very concerned about this harsh review for numerous reasons. Firstly, the kitchen of this unit was renovated less than seven months ago so the tile and microwave mentioned are both brand new. We have contacted the installer of the tile to have them repair any problems and we appreciate the opportunity to correct this problem. It is unclear why a new microwave is noisy and probably can’t really do anything about that issue. Secondly, we have a great local property manager who is always available to rectify any problems that arise with our guests. It is unfortunate that this guest did not contact us or the property manager since things like pots, pans, broken coffee pots, etc. can easily and quickly be replaced. I will make an effort to inform our future guests that this service is available. In fact, the property management team was on site to investigate these complaints in less than 24 hours. The screen doors were damaged during the recent storms and are also a quick fix that will be completed within the next few days. Lastly, this is an older building on a beautiful area of the beach with a few quirks (light switch placement), but is in good condition. We do not have state of the art electronic equipment but there are two perfectly fine tv’s with cable and a dvd player (maybe reviewer was confused since it is a dvd/vcr combo). Nonetheless, most of our guests find this condo to be a CLEAN, comfortable and cozy unit right on a great beach and fabulous place for a family vacation.

Great Place to Stay

My husband and I stayed here and loved it. The condo was very well kept and everything worked great. It was wonderful to sleep and hear the gulf. The location is on the Gulf, but also near a river mouth. We collected some great pieces of driftwood, along with our seashells. It was quiet and just a short drive to everything we needed.
