About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

DISCOUNT WILL BE APPLIED TOWARDS ONE WEEK (SATURDAY TO SATURDAY) JUNE AND JULY RENTALS. 10 PERSON MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY. RENTERS OVER AGE 25 ONLY.

Consider a spacious, comfortable beach house instead of a crowded condo. Not your average rental, our home is newly decorated with a classy and contemporary beach casual style. Escape to your own private paradise since every bedroom has access to its own decks. There are 4 bedrooms: two of which are master suites! One master suite has a king, and the other a queen bed with its own bathroom. The 3rd bedroom is a 'kids room' with queen, full bunk bottom, and single bunk top beds - enough for 5 kids max in this room alone. The 4th bedroom is small and cozy, with its own balcony and closet - perfect for the lone single adult/teen who wants a bit of privacy.

There is a separate laundry room with full-size washer and dryer for renters. We know how wet/dirty clothes can pile up on a beach vacation.

The house is fully equipped for families to relax and enjoy a home away from home.

New stainless steel kitchen suite has top of the line WHIRLPOOL GOLD brand matching stainless steel appliances. There is a fridge ice-maker, and water filter for sparkling cold water. The counter-tops are fully new granite. The gourmet chef of the party knows that our fast convection oven cooking can prepare a full meal in no time. Even equipped with a warming mode, it is a true joy for the hungry vacationer. All matching appliances - easy on the eye and a pleasure for cooks.

Enjoy your morning coffee off the dining room balcony with a sunrise lagoon water-view enhanced by the sounds and smells of the beach; or stroll to the private sub-division dock to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. The 5 amazing decks makes it a pleasure to laze the afternoon watching the lowering sun, or just people-watching the neighboring vacationers.

There is a clean and private community pool with umbrellas and chairs just steps away. Floats are provided in the front door closet for guests. Maybe you will choose a swim in the surf, sunbathe on the sandy beaches, or take a slow walk searching for beach treasures. The beach has a boardwalk entrance over the dunes, with a outdoor shower right there for afterwards.

Try fishing, crabbing, canoeing, or kayaking from the sub-division pier steps away from our house. Kids particularly love the abundant crabs, plentiful fish or occasional shrimp caught off the pier. A state park is just three blocks west where the fishermen gather at sunrise and fish until their coolers are full. The spot under the bridge (called the 'Pass') is especially favorable for angling. Ask locals for the latest hot-spot and best bait reports.

Few homes in the area offer the luxury and ambiance for this price. Adults can eat or relax on the many decks and balconies, while children play or watch TV. Everyone can get together for meals, play games, or watch a movie in the combined kitchen and living great room. Or you may choose to dine on the covered deck off the kitchen. Fully equipped tasteful furnishings, and all tile floors provide clean contemporary living to enhance every moment you spend indoors. But on sunny days, activities abound just steps from the house in every direction.

The floor plan is perfectly designed for two families on vacation (2 couples with kids). Also popular, are older retired couples that use the house for themselves during winter. This is our dream beach house and can be yours. We picked this house because it is located on the west side of Gulf Shores - quiet streets safe for bike riding, children playing, or slow strolls. And yet, it's a 2 minute drive to the busy shopping centers, restaurants, and tourist spots that families seek as a change of pace to the beach or rainy day. The memories we have will last a lifetime, and we want to share this wonderful experience with your families.

We value responsible adults who share the same family values. The house sustained routine damage when rented out by the Big Box rental companies. Under our direct care, damage is almost non-existent. We screen and seek adult renters who want maximal enjoyment and appreciate all our fine house offers.

ATTENTION: partyers, alcoholics, druggies, habitual damage to rentals - are not welcomed. We don't need your money, and don't welcome your type. If you try to sneak by the book our house, we will evict you and come after you in court. Don't try it. Save yourself grief and rent from the Big Box.

Also, don't bottom fish here. The price is fair as listed, if you want to haggle - don't bother.

If you have legitimate questions, please call.

About Charles

We are a happy family with 3 kids who love traveling. Special times we spent at the beach in Gulf Shores are lifetime memories - walks on the beach, sunsets on the dock, and fishing with the kids. The look on my son's face the first time he caught a crab is precious. The home is ideal for family gatherings, reunions, and friends to share. We are offering our house to families who want to create the same memories.

Charles purchased this house in 2004

Why Charles chose Gulf Shores West

2017 Dates to Remember:

Music Festival May 19th to 21st @ Hangout, 2 miles.

Memorial weekend: May 27th to 29th

Shrimp Festival: Oct 13th to 16th

We bought a house in Gulf Shores on the west side, because it is more reminiscent of beach vacations of years past. It's slower on the west side, with slow traffic safe for bike riding, and the beaches are never crowded. Yet, is a short 2 minute drive to the busy stores, restaurants, movies theaters, and fun parks.

What makes this house unique

This home transports you back to yesterday, when beach walks, sunset conversations on the dock, and riding bikes along the Gulf were summer-time family activities. You will enjoy a family beach vacation like in the old days.

'SPACIOUS YET COZY' is how one guest describes it.

We do not rent to college kids or spring breakers. Families will thoroughly enjoy this beautiful home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family usually stay at Destin if we have a beach vacation. This spring break, we met with my sister's family from Louisiana - and Gulf Shores was closer. After one rental reservation was screwed up because the owner was selling the house, we called this property last minute. And we are glad we did.

The drive is always long from Atlanta. But even though we were tired, once we crossed the Intercoastal waterway - we can smell the ocean. The kids woke up from napping and were excited to see where we were staying. The house was very clean, kitchen had everything for cooking, and the small boys loved the separate kids' bedroom with bunk-beds. There were plenty of towels, although we had to do 2 washes mid-week (it is not a hotel). The location was on a quiet cul-de-sac but did not have the isolated feeling like some vacation homes. We liked that you can walk out, and meet a few other families/kids on the neighborhood dock. One the neighbors had crab traps out, and the kids enjoyed watching the crabs being caught. Everyone was very friendly.

The beach was expansive and very clean. We liked that we didn't have to walk far: the owner said it is one block, but actually it's more like 1.5 blocks. You have to make a quick left and right at the cul-de-sac entrance, then cross Beach Blvd. Once there, a public pier made it very convenient to wash off sand and directly access beach. We noticed other families actually driving and parking along the public access parking on the road to the beach from our house. So obviously, other renters actually had to drive and park to get to the beach - from the same street we walk from. Bring plenty of beach toys; we played frisbee, kites, and the teens in our group boogie boarded. The adults enjoyed walking early morning when it's that magical morning time on the beach before the rest of the world wakes up - and you get your feet wet in the surf with rolled up pants. The evening was equally wonderful. My husband is a photographer, and caught some wonderful shots of a thunderstorm over the ocean at night.

Overall, it was an idyllic home and we were happy to go out of our comfort zone and stay somewhere new. We would definitely rent from this owner again. The rental process was easy, he took a personal check even though we called last minute; and didn't have to pay credit card fees.

We have great memories from our 2015 spring break in Gulf Shores.

This house is a great value, clean and well kept. The location was perfect for a relaxing quiet vacation, yet close enough to restaurants, entertainment, etc.

We will book this property again!

winter escape

  • 4 of 5

Unfortunately very cold month. The tile floor provided no protection from cold wind. House was adequate and spacious. Kitchen well stocked for cooking. There was no grill as it was all rusted. Nice neighborhood.

The beach was only desirable three days due to weather.

Great Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home!! The grandchildren loved being able to fish off the pier and swim in the pool. We were close enough to the beach that we could walk back for lunch and then return. It was also not too crowded to find a place to set up on the beach which has been a problem in the past. There were plenty of dishes for all of our cooking and enough linens for all 11 of us! Definitely will try to get this place again next year!!!

Perfect reunion

  • 5 of 5

We are 3 generations visiting from Arizona, and meeting family from Texas and Atlanta. Rooms were described accurately, size of house ideal for 5 adults and 3 kids. The best room in the house has gotta be the gourmet kitchen. We don't like to eat out a lot to maximize time spent together. (We hate the long waits in resort town restaurants also) the kitchen had so many cookware, utensils, and even basic spices. Someone left sesame seeds and oil; perfect for salads! We noticed guests ( maybe owners) leave a lot behind for others to use; pool floats, unopened breakfast food in boxes, even a beach chair. We decided to leave behind some charcoal and lighters we didn't use: pass it forward.

The house, pool, dock, and beach were perfect for grandparents to toddlers. Thanks for the memories!

Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Spacious and cozy at the same time! Quiet neighborhood full of friendly people from all over. Very comfortable accomodations, easy access to the pool, lagoon, pier, and beach. Beautiful sunsets, cooling sea breezes, and the balconies made for full enjoyment of morning/evening mockingbird serenades. We had a wonderful time!!

Owner's Response: "Spacious and cozy at the same time!": Nice way to sum it up. The kitchen/dining/living room is connected for together time. The great room has balconies and lots of windows for a sunny happy feeling. But lots of rooms and the single room to escape for some quiet time for reading. The separate balconies are great for that too. The friendly neighbors are accidental and money can't buy it. We are blessed to have a great cul-de-sac with friends who look out for each-other without being intrusive. Steps away from the pool, lagoon, and beach - never bored for things to do. Your family will surely enjoy this home as ours have over the years. Thank you for the review and we are glad you had a great time!

Lagoon is perfect for fishing. Beach is popular for kite-flying. Please bring own gear.

Water-park, outlet shopping, local amusement rides nearby. Bike lane spans 20+ miles on Beach Blvd scenic route. Bird, nature, and wildlife preserves within biking distance.

There are so many things to do and see, I still discover something new each visit. Last summer, I discovered a great local library stocked with children's books. Also found a great New Orleans style beignet cafe just minutes from our house. The natural surroundings are a photographer's delight.

We provide high speed internet and Wifi access, so bring your laptop or ipad and google local activities during your stay. 200+ cable tv channels: tv in every room. Cell and air signals are also strong, ie. the popular Verizon 4G service.
