About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Office, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

In 1939, the Maas Family built this historic tudor house adjacent to Adolf Coors Company property. Today, the house (renovated in 2007) with fenced yard is conveniently located in a quiet block in downtown historic Golden, where a 3-minute walk along the Clear Creek nature trail will take you to galleries, coffee shops and boutiques. Golden was the first capitol of the Colorado Territory, founded in 1859. Easy access to the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, world-class ski areas, Casinos in Black Hawk, Denver and Boulder, makes Golden an ideal location for travelers.

The house is comfortably furnished with new and historic decor. Sleeping accommodations include two queen beds, two twin-size beds, as well as a sleeper sofa in the office. Views include rim rocks of North Table Mountain, Historic Castle Rock of South Table Mountain, Lookout Mountain and overlooks the Coors Brewery. Natural-style landscaping create a restful, mountain-cabin atmosphere with easy access to all the modern and historical attractions of the former Gold Rush-era town center.

Spend a few days, a week, or more as you discover Golden, Colorado, 'Where the West Lives' Nestled at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Golden has something for everyone- nature walks, museums, shopping, skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, fly fishing, riverboarding, amusement park, farmers market, outdoor concerts, art festivals and more! Tours are available at the Coors Brewery as well as at numerous historic sites dating from pioneer days.

About John

Longtime Denver metro area residents, native Coloradoans.

John purchased this house in 2008

Why John chose Denver Metro

We love preserving historic properties. We noticed the limited accommodations in Downtown Golden and are aiming to make this a special and unique place for travelers to Golden. And we're hoping to set the standard for vacation rentals. Hey VRBO, come stay here!

What makes this house unique

Adjacent to Clear Creek and walking distance to all Golden has to offer. Cross the bridge behind house into Vanover Park at the end of the kayak course. Two blocks from the start of the Coors Brewery Tour. Two blocks to the Golden Hotel. Great for parents of Colorado School of Mines students and wedding parties. And you are only 20 minutes from Downtown Denver.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We totally agree with everything that has been said in this guestbook. Perfect location, perfect accommodations. It was wonderful to have the whole family stay in such a nice house.

Great location, comfortable place

  • 4 of 5

Booked the home for a stay for family at the holidays. The house was so comfortable and had everything we needed. Plus it was right by the bike path for morning walks and getting to downtown quickly. John and amy have done an excellent job of giving you a great info packet as well as the home having those little details supplied to make your stay enjoyable. Will book again.

Perfect for Golden

  • 4 of 5

Our family, parents with 2 grown sons and girlfriends, had a meet up in Denver and decided to stay in the town of Golden. The Brewmaster House was perfect. The house was comfortable and adequate for our needs. It would be even better in warm weather because of the nice backyard. Our favorite part was its location. We walked everywhere in town and took daily walks along the river. It was especially great because so much of the town was covered in lights because of the holiday. Highly recommended.

Miller family thanksgiving stay

  • 4 of 5

Hey, my family and I loved the place. They felt super comfortable in the home, the location was great and the furnishings were awesome especially the historical Golden pictures.

The only complaint was the bedding. The pillows were hard and the there was a blood stain on a pillow in the basement full size bed room.

Other than that, we had a great time and thanks again!

Easy Vacation!

  • 4 of 5

The Brewmaster House in Golden Colorado is a gorgeous, comfortable and clean home. I stayed in the home with 5 gals (annual family gal trip) and a baby and we had plenty of room to relax and enjoy each other's company without stumbling over each other. The open layout of the home was perfect and it was even nice to kick back and watch a movie together at the end of our busy days. I especially loved that the home owner was very organized in providing all of the info that we needed via text or email so I never had to ask questions.

The town of Golden is a very easy walk from the home and even picking up groceries at the Safeway took only moments. Hiking trails and access to other places of interest (Denver, Colorado Springs, Meyer Botanical Gardens, Red Rocks Ampitheater, Estes, Zoo, etc.) was beyond simple. Highways are also moments away so we could go wherever we wanted without worry of being lost. Very low-stress ;>

I wish I could say every little thing was totally perfect but there is one problem that should be fixed if at all possible. Two of us stayed in the downstairs bedroom that has two twin beds. The bathroom plumbing for the entire house goes thru the ceiling of this bedroom and every time anyone uses the water in the bathroom (toilet, shower, sink) it sounds like a freight train is running through this one bedroom. It was amazing (and good) that the second adjoining downstairs bedroom didn't have any noise at all. This issue was tough on two of us but still wouldn't deter me from recommending this home as a place to stay while visiting the Denver area.

Thanks for enhancing a great vacation with your beautiful home. Your hospitality was appreciated.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Yes, the incoming water line is somewhat loud in Bedroom #3 when anyone uses the downstairs bathroom. We might look to insulate those lines at some point. Quirks of a house built in 1937.
