About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms, 1 half bath, sleeps 6

This is an exceptionally lovely, spacious, and well-maintained 2000 sq. ft. home home with many special features, including killer sunset views of the salt marsh and First Encounter Beach on Cape Cod Bay. The house features 3 zone air conditioning, a large yard that is beautifully landscaped, spacious and private, yet only 2 miles from the Rotary, and 3 miles from Main Street in Orleans. It is very convenient to First Encounter Beach (8/10 mile), Wiley Park (about 1 mi.), Herring Pond (4/10 mile), the Cape Cod bike trail, and several Cape Cod beaches. The house is beautifully furnished and comfortable with updated designer kitchen, granite countertops, fresh new bedding, yet casual and large enough to relax and enjoy. We welcome families with children! Your family and friends will especially enjoy the spacious great room and dining area with beamed Cathedral ceiling, and open floor plan with gorgeous kitchen--all with spectacular views of Cape Cod Bay and First Encounter Beach!

***NEW improvements in 2016 included but are not pictured as of yet are beautiful new hardwood floors in the great room and halls, a brand new retractable sunsetter awning on the front deck, and comfortable new patio furniture on the front deck as well.

Comments from other guests: ' Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! It is so nicely furnished and well equipped! And the location can't be beat! We've stayed in Dennis and Harwich before, but this visit has converted us to Eastham people.'

'What a stunning location and beautiful home. Two weeks isn't enough!'

' The house is everything you could want!'

House Layout and Furnishings: The kitchen is bright, cheery, and well equipped--it even has a lobster pot for preparing lobster dinners at home! The dining room features a large dining table with room for everyone, including a high chair for the smallest member of the family. Or if you prefer dining al fresco, put some steaks or fish on the gas grill and enjoy a summer meal around the picnic table. At the end of a busy day your family will retire to well-appointed bedrooms with comfortable new bedding. On the second floor there are two delightful bedrooms and a spacious newly remodeled full bath. One bedroom is furnished with antiques and offers a queen size poster bed with matelasse comforter. The other bedroom has twin beds with quilts and matelasse pillow shams. On the first floor, the master bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed, color TV, and views of Cape Cod Bay. Its newly renovated bathroom has double marble sinks, and tile floors. A pocket door in the hall is handy to separate the den/master bedroom area from the great room, which makes separate private areas for multiple family activities or private lounging.

Kitchen towels are provided. Don't forget to bring your own linens, personal bath and beach towels!

Amenities: The house offers a variety of inviting and comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces for morning coffee, reading, or just relaxing. There is a screened porch at the back of the kitchen and a deck out the front with beautiful views. As a bonus, there is a first floor den with a 40 inch TV and a great sofa for afternoon naps. For evenings or rainy days, you may want to pack your favorite movies and video games and enjoy them in the den. Bring your laptop and take advantage of the high speed wireless connections. The house is equipped with central a/c, full house attic fan, screened windows to take advantage of Bay breezes, 5 paddle fans, and skylights. The house has an attached garage which makes it helpful to move your personal belongings in and out of the house with only 2 steps to the main living area. Full laundry facilities are in the basement. Extras include hammock, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, deck furniture, a Pac 'n Play, high chair, card table and chairs, outdoor shower with h/c water, gas grill, 3 additional cable TV's, picnic table, and two child size wood swings. Loved this house!

  • 5 of 5

This is our third summer coming up to the Cape and the first time in Eastham, and we loved this house! The house itself was very spacious and updated, with nice comfortable beds, a large kitchen, and two eating areas. The location is ideal -- we liked it better than our prior Orleans and Chatham locations. The view from the house is of marsh and then First Encounter Beach, which is a beautiful not-crowded bayside beach --like Skaket Beach -- where the tide goes way out at low tide, leaving behind hermit crabs and snails that the kids love to find. The sunsets are amazing over this beach, as you are facing west. Every night after dinner, we'd hop in the car and drive the 1.5 mile route to the beach (no parking fees after 4-4:30) and watch the sun set while the kids explored. You could also enjoy the sunset from the house. The house is only about 5 minutes from Coast Guard Beach, which is a beautiful National Seashore beach where you can see seals while you swim/boogie board. The house is also super close to the Cape Cod Bike trail -- maybe 3/4 mile away, so you can bike from town to town. Shopping in downtown Orleans and Eastham was only a few minutes away, and Provincetown was about 40 minutes away.

You can't find a better equipped rental -- it has everything you need: chairs, umbrellas, two nice adult bikes for your use, rafts for the placid water of First Encounter beach at high tide, and lots of house items like laundry detergent, tp, paper towels, coffee filters, trash bags, plastic wrap, etc. Really, the only thing you need to bring for the house are sheets and towels as those aren't included. And JoAnn is uber responsive too. This rental is a winner!

Great sunsets. Location, location! Perfect for the bike path and the beach.

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvelous stay at this wonderful home. It was spacious enough for our family of 5 to spread out and we enjoyed the proximity to the beaches and bike path. The special feature is the sunset view off the side porch which we really loved. The owner has this place so well organized complete with a welcome book which included places to eat and other tips. No hassles - all fun!

Loved this house!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 stayed at this beautiful home in May. The house was very comfortable and clean inside. The view of the marsh and First Encounter Beach is great from this house, as is the sunset in the evening. There are plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach toys for a nice day at the gorgeous beaches and kettle ponds in this area. This is one of the nicest homes we have stayed in during our many stays on the cape. We loved the deck and retractable awning. It is in a very central location which makes it easy to visit the places that we like to go. We cooked here a few nights and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and the grill worked great. The screened in porch was lovely for relaxing at night away from the insects. We all loved the outdoor shower. We are definitely coming back to stay at this house again!

Perfect home with superb amenities!

  • 5 of 5

Quiet location wouldn't know you are on a Main Street to Town beaches and local ponds. Immaculate accomodations.. plenty of room to spread out. From the porch facing the bay with the spectacular sunsets or to the screened in back porch off the kitchen to the backyard.. the dining room table has a leaf to add for dining and the board games at night(or during a rainy day spell). Bedding is very comfortable.. central air is a definite plus! Won't rent a home without it! This has the additional attic fan to use if Day is a scorcher you can flip this on for a few minutes to remove the excess heat befor turning the air on. Convenient location for shopping as well as for our extended family who live around the corner. Eastham is a quiet family oriented community if you wish to avoid the hustle and bustle of traffic. Stay on the bay side and bike run walk to the water. Landlord owner is very attentive and responds to inquiries quickly. Looking forward to continue our family vacations here.

review.

  • 5 of 5

All in all the house is very comfortable. Great view and deck overlooking the Marsh. Everything functioned well and it had all the comforts of home. We love Eastham so that is a given for 35 years of coming to the Cape. Only comment would be the furniture in living room not very functional. A sectional couch with a large flat screen TV would be my choice. The den however is quite comfy. Loved the Kitchen , Grill , Deck and screened in porch. The gardens are wonderful with all kind of bird and chippy activity. We picked up some teacups for new bird baths at home. All the toys you could want for use including beach chairs etc.

All in all a very nice home. Thanks.

Eastham is the best-kept secret on the Cape. It is equidistant from Provincetown and Barnstable, and less than 10 miles from Chatham or Wellfleet. Eastham is home to world class beaches on the Atlantic and the more tranquil beaches on Cape Cod Bay. The Cape Cod National Seashore Visitors Center, which is 2 miles from our house, offers daily-guided canoe trips, interpretive walks and talks, and great educational and recreational opportunities for all ages. Or, grab a bicycle and head to the Cape Cod Rail Trail which is less than a mile from our home. Fabulous dining and shopping opportunities are easily accessible, and without the heavy summer crowds found elsewhere on the Cape..

Other Activities: near Cape Cod Rail Trail, interpretive nature walks, sunset views, beaches
