Chalet, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Head down a secluded mountain road, cross a little bridge, and you'll end up at your own private hideaway - Wald Haus. Wald Haus is a mountain chalet style cabin nestled in the woods near a babbling, stocked trout stream in Western North Carolina.
You'll find an upgraded kitchen with granite countertops and all the items you'll need for cooking that gourmet meal. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom is huge! There's a comfy, king size bed, a walk-in closet, private bath with separate tub and shower, and a separate balcony.
Downstairs you'll find a bedroom with a queen size bed and another bedroom with two twins. The ground floor has another full bathroom. The great room has two sets of sliding glass doors letting the outside in. There's even a stone fireplace for those chilly nights. The cabin has a movie and book library at your disposal.
The large deck offers you a great place to enjoy the sound of the wind in the trees and the sound of the noisy trout stream. The property is along the stream, but the house itself is not directly on it. The stream is available for fishing or playing and there are trails to hike up the mountain. If you don't feel that adventurous, just chill out in the hammock!

About Erin Stambaugh
My husband and I recently moved back to the U.S. from Stuttgart, Germany, where Chris served in the military. We built 'Wald Haus' as we both love the mountains. We had anticipated that the Army would move us to North Carolina, but since we are now in Colorado, we decided to rent it out.
Erin Stambaugh purchased this Chalet in 2009
Why Erin Stambaugh chose Yellow Creek
My parents have cabins in this part of the Smokies. There's so much to do and 85% of the area is national forest.
What makes this Chalet unique
We love white water rafting, hiking, fishing, and boating. This part of the mountains has everything.

Just right for a weekend away
This is the 2nd time I've stayed in the cabin. We love the fact that we have NO internet or cell phone service (others may be deterred by this though). The stream on the property is beautiful and the porch is nice for little ones to run around on. Last time my group of friends rented the cabin, I slept in the king sized bed upstairs and it was very comfortable. This time, my husband and I drew the short straws and stayed in the twin beds. The mattresses on the twin beds are not very comfortable and could use a memory foam or pillow top mattress topper. The kitchen is perfectly adequate. We cook most of our meals out at this cabin because it is pretty far out from Robbinsville to go into town to eat. While there are coffee filters in the cabin, they are not the correct size for the coffee maker. You need the #4 cone coffee filters for 8-12 cup coffeemakers for the coffee maker at the cabin. When we first arrived, we had to run the water in the downstairs bathroom to make it run clear-- it initially was running a rust colored, I imagine due to water sitting in the well. We would rent again-- really enjoy the secluded environment of this cabin.
Thank you for your kind review. I will take a look at your suggestions on the twin beds and address the other concerns. As to the water, we had a new well dug last fall, so I think that contributed to the sediment. Please visit us again if your travels bring you back this way!
Nice and quiet!
I didn’t have enough time to explore much but WILL definitely be renting again!

Wonderful Stay!
We really loved our time at the cabin - had everything and was very homely.
Great location. away from the tourist craziness - we went to Joyce Kilmer National Forest, Fontana Dam , walked a bit of the Appalachian Trail and went to Bryson City. Would love to come back.
