We purchased the Lodge in July 2014. The Lodge is a great place to make your family vacation getaway, group retreat, or family reunion an unforgettable adventure.
There is an outdoor fire pit. Great for Smores!
Steve purchased this cabin in 2014
Location, location, a view of Flat Top Mountain where the Benton McCaye trail runs, this retreat lodge is a slice of paradise.
The Lodge sits on 4 acres facing Flat Top Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Visitors also have access to a 7 acre field across the road complete with trout pond and catch and release fishing.
Thank you very much...we had such a wonderful time ...the lodge was a beautiful place ...we had deer and turkey running around the yard ....and had a wonderful dog "hank" that came over everyday to visit us every day.
The main house was large. The two master bedrooms had a Jack and Jill bathroom, which was a little difficult to share with 4 adults. There was plenty of seating and table space. The kitchen was well stocked with bowls, utensils and coffee pot. There were only 2 wine glasses, you may want to bring extra. We did alert the owner, Steve, of a few items that concerned us and he replied promptly. Assuring us they would be fixed in the future. Hot tub was wonderful. The Sauna room is not usable do to wiring issues. The kids enjoyed the game room. As there was only one pool cue, more are needed. The views were amazing. Even though our trip was rainy, we were able to go on several hikes and enjoy the creek. Thank you for a memorable stay!

The Lodge was the perfect place to invite a diverse group from NC and GA to meet for a weekend. Our group loved the property and is already considering doing another weekend there in the future. The owners were responsive and easy to work with, and the property was equipped with just about everything you could need for a great vacation. Thank you!
Wonderful stay! You get so much for the money. We took our son and a group of his friends up for a few nights to celebrate his 14th birthday and we all had so much fun. Cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. It was a perfect spot for our purpose.
Only (slight drawback) is the neighbor lets his smaller, friendly dog run free and it was constantly at the property. We brought our lab, who is very content to stay by our side on or off the leash, but does not love other dogs if they approach her. We had to keep our dog on the leash (not able to play ball with her - even on the property) the entire time and constantly shoo the other dog away. Next time, we'll leave our dog home.
We'll definitely keep this place in mind for future trips!
It was everything it said it was! We had a great weekend.
Overall a very nice cabin. The pictures and description are very accurate. Hot tub was clean and operated well. Kitchen has everything you need, and the grill outside worked fine.
That being said, I wouldn't stay here if you're expecting a luxurious cabin with fine linens and a suede couch. (It's not a Sandels resort) This cabin is very basic, and is rough around the edges. It needs little repairs here and there but, for people like us none of this was an issue. When we rent a cabin we look for a nice hot tub, a clean cabin, well stocked kitchen, and a comfortable clean bed to sleep in. **This cabin had all of that.** We enjoyed our stay and will most likely rent this specific cabin again if its available.
Only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the light bulb in sauna was blown and the rec cabin is a bit rough. (Pool table was wobbly, and there are some specific instructions about leaving the heat alone in the rec cabin which is fine but, it was 100 degrees in there!)
The kids loved the game room and separate cabins with bunk beds! The kitchen was perfect for preparing and cooking for ten! We enjoyed the individual cabin accommodations and the hot tub! We couldn't have asked for any other amenity to make our stay more pleasurable. The girls enjoyed shopping the boutiques and ice cream shop in the quaint town of Ellijay! We will definitely be returning.
