Sedona Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms/1 bath sleeps 6. Retreat in privacy and comfort on 1/3 acre with VIEW

This cabin can sleep six: one bedroom with NEW firm mattress with European top queen bed, a carpeted loft with queen bed and stair access, and a futon (double bed, thick mattress) in great room. It comes with complete kitchen and bath, all linens and towels included, clothes washer and dryer, fireplace, firewood (I supply), as well as barbecue grill and patio set in backyard. Since the end of August 2015 it has been upgraded and remodeled so fantastically that I think you will fall in love with it! New lighting throughout and ceiling fan in the master bedroom; new laundry room with pantry and hot water (formerly the cabin had been in a screened patio so hot water could not be used); new dining room with custom alligator juniper breakfast bar pass through and magical lighting; new sleek refrigerator, 7' leather sofa; shelving and desk custom made of alligator juniper as is the breakfast bar and opening surrounds, new operable windows with views of Cathedral Rock and the native trees and wildlife, and more. The views at this 1/3 acre property are absolutely awesome, and you will also be provided the Grand Annual Red Rock Pass. You can walk to Crescent Moon Ranch Recreation Area to access Oak Creek from the cabin -- Google it for amazing images, esp. in the fall!

At the cabin there are games, c.d. player, books, and great hikes. We also have TV and DVD; hi-speed wireless internet, and free phone service all 50 states. I supply the Grand Annual Red Rock pass for free parking on trailheads and admission to Crescent Moon Recreation Area, the West Fork of Oak Creek (Zane Grey wrote about it in Call of the Canyon)! Check out the books detailing the hiking and biking trails and spend those gorgeous Sedona days in outdoor activities which you will never forget. Here is a piece that I wrote to a guest summer 2016, when asked about the "presence" she and guest who have commented in the guest book were aware of:

"I purchased this cabin in 1998 from the original builder/owner from 1960. He had been superintendent of schools in Glendale, AZ, and his family decided to sell it at the end of his life. He was not ill and did not die in the cabin. In fact, I spoke to my 97.5 year old neighbor who knew him and family, and she said she was sure noone had ever died there. That said, there was no evidence of a presence until 2006 when the cabin had work, esp. roof work, done, leaving it empty for a month. When next I returned, the former minor wind sounds became creaks and animal noises. I had my contractor go through the entire structure and seal or screen any openings.

Personally I have experienced a calming, friendly presence. Most of my guests have enjoyed good feelings and ease with that has been described as possibly a mother and young son. I don't know how to attribute the sometimes nearly alarming cracking sounds, except that she may be forcing out any spriits that would not be well intentioned. It seems their presence is beneficent; when new addition was built last summer and all electrical, etc. was brought up to code, I asked our spirits to please find other dwellings if ever they could not bring light and good ambience to the cabin's guests. In response I received a loving ray of sunshine across my body. And that's my experience.

Guests have been more involved, with New Year's family 2 years in a row knowing that the female allowed her lingerie robe to brush against them and the boy touching the foot of the youngster staying there. He woke mom up to ask if she knew the boy who did that! More recently I had guests who are paranormal/metaphysical spiritists and they had great feelings and experiences with them! May there ever be friendly exchanges and even protections from those whose "lives" intertwine at the cabin at 50 Zane Grey Lane!"

The back of property drops down to a dry creek wash where javelinas, quail and coyote often visit. With rains it becomes a creek which you will thrill to sit on our bank beside. Recently a guest specified three pages in my guest book of all the birds she spotted on the property!! It is a very short walk or drive to Crescent Moon Ranch Park with access to Oak Creek, an area open to hiking and creek access. Need I mention again that the cabin is incredibly scenic (full view of Cathedral Rock) and wooded as well Since the cabin is in a small neighborhood surrounded by National Forest, you can hike or mountain bike from our door.

Guest Comments: Marcia, we came home to find your nice note letting me know that we were back online with e-mail and telephone. Thank you so much for taking care of this problem for us. As you know, it was critical that I be able to communicate to my daughter.

We have enjoyed your cabin so very much along with the beautiful area of Sedona. You also have lovely neighbors. David and I look forward to seeing you on Whidbey Island or here in Sedona. Corinne 4/2009

We're from California (Marina County) so all my 'new age' friends will love that Cathedral Rock was majestically sitting at our front door! ...all that 'vortex' myth and magic.

Most magic for us were our 2 times daily hikes into the Oak Creek area. I have always wanted to walk forever in a creek bed and to then plunge into swimming holes! How glorious to find this dream right here! so much stream…so many swimming holes magically showing up along the walks...so little time! Though we did have a wonderful week, and so many quiet areas of delicious sanctuary where we just sat for hours falling into each moment. Thanks for this great spot!

Our last day -- Gentle wind chimes birdsong scent of Juniper, warm breeze fluttering, yellow and white butterflies

Our little family of quails scooting by (above the table is a rocky mountain juniper - can live up to 1500 years). Don't forget to sit out late with the stars...8/17/08

...and the full moon! Sandy

About Marcia Carey Caldwell

Moving from Puget Sound to the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ) in 1989, left my family longing for a cool, wooded getaway. I bought and renovated this cabin (built in 1960), in 1997 and have had hundreds of truly happy guests stay here, leaving us the occasional available weekend! I love sitting by a cool evening fireside with my dachshunds -- you will too!

Marcia Carey Caldwell purchased this cabin in 1998

Why Marcia Carey Caldwell chose Canyon Country & Northeast

We adored Sedona and the hikes, the creek, the activities and the year round great climate. We hike right from our background either into a box canyon leading to hills with magnificent views or to Crescent Moon Recreation Area where we can swim in Oak Creek, visit Stupas, photograph some of the best views and ecosystems Sedona offers. We also benefit from the VORTEX energy!

What makes this cabin unique

Direct vortex path from stunning Cathedral Rock and short walking distance to Oak Creek certainly affects energy and consciousness. I love sharing this amongst the other benefits of a genuine cabin on wooded acreage and a view that leaves me breathless. Here is a piece that I wrote to a 2016 guest, when asked about the "presence" she was aware of:

Cozy cabin perfect for exploring Red Rock country, great for kids

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely cabin the last week of 2012. It was perfect for our family with 3 kids - 7, 5, 2. The ample outside space allowed the kids to practice their soccer skills every day. The kitchen was well-stocked and the heater worked very well. We loved the breakfast table with the great view of Cathedral Rock. We saw a rather large coyote on our drive back to the cabin one evening. The owner Marcia recommended the Heartline Cafe where we had a delicious four course Christmas dinner. On the last day it snowed and was absolutely gorgeous. Nice selection of reading material and games. Sedona is a lovely town and a great base for exploring the area. We did several nearby hikes and went to the mining town of Jerome for a day. We also visited Walnut Canyon, Tuzigoot and Montezuma castle national monuments all of which have ancient Indian dwellings. The older kids were proud of the Junior Ranger park badges they earned. We never turned on the TV or used the iPad the whole week! We stayed in a few hotels following our stay in Sedona and we really missed the extra space and privacy the cabin provided.

Perfect Sedona Location

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for my husband and me. We enjoyed the comfy bed and furniture, and the artsy decor. Everything we needed was provided. The Red Rock Pass is a real bonus. The view while sitting on the front porch is worth it all! And we loved having a comfy house for our little dog, Joe. Trails all around the cabin, and close proximity to all locations we wanted to visit. Kitchen well stocked, and easy to use. Only wish there was a regular toaster in the kitchen. We did not figure out how to use the fancy toaster oven thingy. Great stove, and great coffee pot. We plan to return to Sedona and will definitely rent this cabin again.

Wonderful vacation in a cute, well stocked cabin

  • 4 of 5

Stayed in this cabin with a friend for 4 days. It's a perfect location for doing everything around Sedona/Cottonwood/Jerome. The view from the living room picture window of Cathedral Rock is beautiful. Loved opening the curtains in the morning and seeing that. The cabin is well stocked! Everything you could ever think of. Little cooler if you want to pack a lunch (which we did) umbrella, backpack, lots of sheets and towels. Condiments in the kitchen. The housekeeper leaves food left behind if it's something that won't spoil. Good thing. The bagels we'd bought on a Wednesday were moldy by Friday so we ate the instant oatmeal we found in the kitchen!! This cabin was very clean. The bed was super comfy. Neither of us felt comfortable sleeping in the loft because you have to duck when entering it so you don't hit your head on a beam. We both are up numerous times in the night so my friend slept on the futon which she said was very comfy. The loft is really cute though. We didn't have a chance to hike the dry creek bed behind the cabin but would have loved to. One of the neighbors was outside and we asked him how to get someplace and he went inside and printed us a map. Very friendly and helpful. Marcia, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful when we called her a couple of times. She is very nice! Our big tip is this: Make sure you know what the cabin looks like so you know which house it is. We arrived after dark and the house number isn't visible from the road. The front of the cabin actually faces the back, not the road. The house number is on the house but hidden by a tree. The number of the house next door is 30 so if you see that, the next one is the cabin. If you arrive after dark, have a flashlight or the light on your cell phone ready to use to unlock the door. And enjoy your stay in this peaceful place!!

Adorable!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin fit 4 adults perfectly. The location is so awesome with a gorgeous view of Cathedral Rock. We did not want to leave. Has a cute loft, interesting decor and comes with everything you need! The location cannot be beat! We love love this cabin and plan on renting again in future! Allows pets also! The only possibly negative is you may want to bring your own pillow. I am used to a feather pillow. 5 stars all the way!!
