Great location, great beach area, awesome balcony overlooking the ocean!

  • 5 of 5

Property is in an excellent area within walking distance to almost everything (we didn't rent a car). For the areas we couldn't walk to Cayman has a bus service that is easy to use and inexpensive. The condo has everything you need dishwasher, washer/dryer, air conditioning, all kitchen utensils and pots/pans. Balcony patio has a gas grill. The beach area in front of condo was the best we saw on seven mile- the rock barrier make a nice lagoon area for swimming especially because it gets quite windy on the island. The swim up bar was fantastic. Beds not the most comfortable but that was the only negative. We'd stay again so not a deal breaker. If you're planning a trip make sure to book a boat charter with Concorde Captain Vernon (345-321-4036) he was the BEST- took us to Stingray City, Starfish point, etc. Best excursion he really made it memorable- highly recommend going private versus the big tour groups. Crystal Caves is another excursion you should definitely check out- absolutely beautiful and awe inspiring. Skip turtle farm- wasn't that great. Grand Cayman was very safe - we walked several times at night. Our trip was the best one we've ever taken would love to go back one day. Jean was great working with- answered questions promptly and everything went smoothly.

Best Condo on Island - I agree!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time on Grand Cayman, but now I can say, we got so lucky in booking this amazing condo!! The location is absolutely ideal. It is immediately near all the excitement of 7 mile beach, Georgetown, Camana Bay but also has its own secluded feel. You are extremely intimate with the ocean - we spent so much time on the gorgeous balcony. The beach was ideal with soft sand and smooth surf with an easy entry into the water that made swimming perfect for the kids. The pool and hot tub were excellent as well with a swim up bar. The condo is spacious and perfectly maintained with all the amenities including a good functioning wifi. The host, Jean, is helpful, prompt and trustworthy. I particularly loved swimming to the nearby reef (200 yeards away) and a nearby wreck (wreck of the Gamma was an easy walk or great 20 min swim) that both had marvelous snorkelling. I would definitely return!

best condo on the island

  • 5 of 5

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at sunset cove. This time we stay in the Kings unit on the beach. Place was spotless great Caribbean feel to it. With in walking distance to tons of great restaurants. The pool with the swim up bar is tops! We will certainly stay here again and again!

excellent location in paradise

  • 4 of 5

This unit was a great size for our family of 6. We are two adults and 4 children(2 teens and 2 pre teens). We have stayed on the island four times. This location was by far the best. It is walking distance into town, nearby restaurants, grocery store, and liquor store. We rented a car but if we hadn't we could have gotten away with walking, taxi's and the bus. Within the complex, it is one of the best located units. It is right on the beach, with a large balcony. The sunsets are breathtaking and the view from the master bedroom is unbeatable. It was a great amount of space and kitchen was well equipped. In unit washer and dryer helped out immensely. The housekeeper who cleaned the condo(every 3rd day) was a delight. The owners where easy to communicate with and gave us everything we needed in a timely fashion( maps, directions, and keys). The condo itself has some minor maintenance issues that I just let the owners know about. The property is well maintained. The pools are great for adults and children of all ages. I loved the swim up bar and grill on the premise. The beach is clean, seating and umbrellas were easy to get. There is a protected area right off the beach that allows for easy snorkeling and swimming. This was great for the kids, I had never seen anything like this before, I loved it! Attractions that are a must are stingray city/starfish island( we always charter a boat, it's costs more but it is much more personal and worth it), the turtle farm, the dolphin exhibit,(on saturday and sunday's there is a cheap breakfast buffet that you can eat and watch them train the dolphins) and feeding the tarpon(large and friendly fish) at 7:30 every night at the restaurant/bar Rackams(walking distance, good food, and kids can snorkel and swim/dive right off the deck there, bring your towels and wear your swim suit!) Restaurants that are great are for casual dining are sunshine grill and Rackams, for nicer dining Aqua is great! Best new bar was Minus 5 ice bar( you are actually drinking in a giant ice room, warm clothes provided, among ice sculptures of lobsters and sea horses) go in the evening after the cruise ships have gone. With all the tropical islands to visit we still come back to Cayman every 3-4 years, you just can't beat it!!!! Relax and Enjoy!

Great family vacation for 5 adults and 3 small children

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time and this unit was perfectly suited for our needs. There were eight of us including 3 small children. Unit had a good supply of toys and we added to it by leaving behind 2 pool noodles. You literally walk out of your unit down one flight of stairs turn the corner and there is the beach and plenty of sand. The kids had a blast alternating between the well protected beach (huge breakwater which keeps the swimming area relatively calm regardless of how large the breakers were) and the wading pool and hot tub.

The unit itself is well set up with all the amenities (except a Keurig but we toughed it out, haha) We ate out literally every night, except for 1 where it was a little too windy. The sunsets from the balcony are spectacular. We were concerned about renting a car and driving on the other side of the road, but Sunset Cove is well situated as we were able to walk to the local grocery store and there are plenty of liquor stores reasonably close. Also the walk into Georgetown is not all that hard and we did it several times to watch the cruise ships unload, mingle with the people and shop.

Food was great and I personally recommend the Sunshine Grill, Cocoanut Joes, and Fidel Murphys. All in all we had a great time. The house keeper was extremely friendly and looked after us well.

We geocache and there were several in the area. Bus service is excellent as they stop for you literally in the middle of the road to pick you up. Cost is 2.50 u.s. or 2 dollars ci. As for attractions you must do the Stingray trip and the Turtle farm. Both well worth the money. A great condo, a great island and friendly people. You can't go wrong.

wonderful family condo

  • 5 of 5

We highly recommended this unit. My husband and I traveled with our two daughters, ages 13 and 9. We all loved it. It is perfectly located. Only a ten minute ride from the airport, walking distance to Kirk's grocery store and Georgetown (less then a mile) and liquor store on the premises. I have to admit, I am not able to walk long distances so we did take a taxi to Georgetown but it was not a bad price. The balcony is huge and has a wonderful view with plenty of seating. You will not believe the beautiful sunsets you will see sitting on the balcony each night. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The master bedroom has a beautiful view, especially to wake up to in the morning. The condo was very clean. The kitchen was fully equiped with everything we needed to make a meal. All appliances were operable and very nice. We really enjoyed our stay. The owners and manager were wonderful and available when needed. Our gas tank for the grill ran out of gas and it was filled the same day. Beach towels and beach toys were available which was a big plus for us not to pack. The cove was perfect for the girls. Snorkling was great. Plenty of beach lounge chairs were available. The pool was large with plenty of seating. We did take a tour with Six Senses (another recommendation) and had a great time. This condo was everything we imagined and more. We LOVED it!! Thanks so much for a great vacation!
