Lake Cowichan is the second largest body of fresh water on Vancouver Island, BC at over 30 km in length. The lake is located 20 minutes (31 kilometers) west of Duncan along Highway 18. The pristine blue waters and sun drenched beaches of Cowichan Lake offer water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, swimming, wind surfing and canoeing.

Our Lake House is located just 1 km outside of Youbou and offers you incredible lakefront living in this 3500 sq/ft six bedroom walkout.

Cowichan (Quw'utsun') means 'land warmed by the sun'.

In the Cowichan Valley rolling mountains, undulating rivers and pristine lakes come together to form the backdrop of the Cowichan; a place of incredible beauty, timeless traditions and tidal rhythms. Nestled between the bustling cities of Victoria to the South and Nanaimo to the North, the Cowichan Valley offers a wide choice of things to see and do throughout the year, from exploring the wine country trails, to unforgettable fishing, kayaking, hiking and golfing adventures.

Bedrooms

All of our beds have top quality plush mattresses to ensure a good nights sleep

Master bedroom has a king bed, walk in closet, iPod ready clock radio and master bathroom with double sinks. The master bedroom windows overlook the lake.

Three other bedrooms upstairs have queen beds and a shared full bathroom.

There are two bedrooms in the basement, one with a queen bed and a fabulous view of the lake and one with two double/single bunk beds.

About Tim Goshulak

My wife Brenda and I love being near water. We fell in love with this beautiful lake the first time we came here.

Tim Goshulak purchased this house in 2009

Why Tim Goshulak chose Vancouver Island

After vacationing in the area we realized we had found a hidden gem. The water is so clean and clear and compared to most lakes in the summer there is lots of room for water sports. We have the feeling of being secluded but are only an hour from Victoria.

What makes this house unique

We love spending time on the dock and the beach while the kids play in the water.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have just returned from a fabulous time staying at Tim & Brendas lovely house on Lake Cowichan. We were staying there with our friends so 9 of us lived very comfortably. The children enjoyed the canoe & rowing boatthat belonged to the house. They tried to catch fish off the deck while the adults enjoyed the sun. We had some great BBQs sitting around the firepit. We would like to thank Tim for allowing us to stay an extra 9 days while we were stuck due to the volcanic ash cloud. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this house & can't wait to return to see it in the summer.

What an amazing property. We came here for a family vacation and had a really great time. The house was spacious and the outdoor living space was beautiful.

A great venue for a family reuinion

  • 5 of 5

Our 9-member family has stayed in this property twice. It is beautiful, quiet and has everything a group could want to relax, cook and gather together. The owner (Tim) and property manager (Kim) are both a real pleasure to deal with. We hope to be back in this lovely setting again and can't recommend it highly enough. Definitely 5 stars.

A slice of heaven on Vancouver Island

  • 5 of 5

This property was very well maintained, very clean, had ample supply of ice, towels, dishes and cutlery. The kitchen had all small appliances you would need, even a roaster. It was perfectly safe for children and very manageable for seniors with limited mobility. Both the house and outdoors areas were large enough for people to enjoy conversation while others relaxed reading a book. The layout allowed both sun and shaded areas outdoors. It was wonderful having a nice quite beach and private wharf. The clean clear lake water was irresistible. Our family made some fun filled memories!

Top notch rental exceeded expectation

  • 5 of 5

Tim has made some incredible renovations to this rental that made our jaws drop upon entering- namely the gorgeous covered deck, sitting area, and built-in BBQ. The dock is well-maintained and in good shape and the place comes with a number of great little extras and our family came away with many good memories were made!

Locale for high school friends to reunite

  • 5 of 5

This beautifully appointed, spacious and fully equipped lakeside home was the perfect spot for a group of women (friends since school days) to get together as we have been doing annually for almost two decades. Throughout our three night stay, it seemed that everywhere we moved, whether inside or outside, there were comfortable places for us to be. Lots of beds and bedrooms meant minimal need for sharing, and with three bathrooms, wait times were insignificant! A couple of days into our stay, Tim called to see if all was going smoothly (which it was). Although the sun shone every day and the temperature shot up, it wasn't quite warm enough to get into the lake...perhaps we'll dip into that another time! Staying in this lovely home made for a stress free and truly fun gathering. Thank you!

Such a perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

We (7 adults + 3 kindergartners) had a wonderful getaway for the kids' spring break. Plenty of rooms in the house and all of them are nice and clean. The whole property is very well kept, renovated and the outside patio is just fabulous. The deck to Cowichan lake is a nice fishing spot for us and all the kids had great time there - even they caught nothing :D

Owner Tim is very nice and helpful on all kinds of information. The only downside is that we couldn't spend more time there!
