I was raised in France where I completed my medical degree. My husband is american from NYC and we have 3 children. We practice medicine in the hills of NH but we always wanted to have our own place in France. We acquired this charming apartment in 2007 to fulfill our needs. Comfortable, centrally located with easy access to airport , train station , metro and all activities that Paris has to offer.
David Rudolf purchased this apartment in 2007
I am French and I have known Paris my whole life , the Marais is my favorite spot.
Our building is located in a very quiet street , off the place des Vosges where you can relax in the gardens or have a cup of coffee . You can walk to cultural places or beautiful stores. The area is friendly on Sunday with the rue des Francs Bourgeois open only to pedestrians. For breakfast, lunch or dinner I have the choice of the best restaurants in the world.
"My mother and I stayed here for one week. The apartment was ideally located and we walked to most of our destinations. It was quiet and clean and simple, a nice respite from the busy streets of the Marais. At least as important as the place itself was the ease in the process. The owner is very friendly and reasonable. She responded to all inquiries quickly and I received prompt repayment of my deposit. Many thanks! "
We had a great stay here in the Marais! David and Sylvie provided some great recommendations for the area and this apartment is so close to many great restaurants. We spent our days in Paris roaming, eating, drinking, and seeing museums. The apartment was very cute and well-appointed (even had a washing machine!). It's nice and private, too, on the back side of the building. There was construction happening in a nearby apt, so it meant we couldn't sleep in after a late night out with a bottle of wine! :) Which is why my review is 4 stars instead of 5, but I'm sure that work will be finished soon. I would definitely look to stay here again and would recommend this place to others.
This two story walk up is a compact, well laid out apartment with everything one needs for a stay. The street is quiet at night, a big plus. The Place des Vosges is literally around the corner, the Picasso museum a few minutes walk as is the rest of the Marais! Lots of great shops all easily accessible. Our favorite food shopping street is rue de Bretagne, maybe 10-15 minutes away. We'd happily recommend this place to others and hope to stay again in the future.
This clean, comfortable, well-appointed quiet apartment is as described and in a perfect location for exploring the Marais and other areas of Paris. My husband and I have stayed in other apartments in the area, and this was our favorite--it's compact but large enough to move around in and be comfortable. (In the 55+ range, we did not find the two flights of stairs to be a problem.) Excellent restaurants and bakeries are minutes away, along with many attractive shops. The instructions about getting into the apartment were thorough, and we had no problems. We spent our days walking and eating.... We'd definitely recommend this apartment to others and would happily stay here again.
My husband, daughter and I spent a week in this great flat. We all thought the location was perfect. It was located in the Marais so walking distance to major sites, however, on a quiet side street. The flat was exactly how described, clean and very spacious compared to other Parisien hotel rooms rented during our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a cup of coffee and grab a pastry at the corner boulangerie. We met our daughter in Paris and had a miscommunication with her on the time of check in and she showed up early (our mistake). It was a bit of a mess but they were very accommodating in getting this fixed for us. Communication was very good. Oh also, the flat was very quiet, which was good. We were exhausted when we hit the bed (which was comfortable too!). I would highly recommend this flat for your stay in Paris!
I worked in the travel industry for many years and have always loved hotel stays. This time I decided to finally rent an apartment. I am so delighted I did. This apartment is absolutely charming, comfortable, clean and quiet. The location is in the heart of the Marais - pretty much walking distance to everywhere (and Paris is certainly a walking city). The metro is very closeby. We never cooked (with the best restaurants in the world just out the door, why would we?) but used the fridge to keep wine & cheese. The shower is amazing - great pressure and never-ending hot water. I now feel like I have a home in Paris and can return more often than I would have ever thought. Highly recommend this place. You will love it.
This place has it all. It is a true one bedroom with excellent beds plus long distance phone service as well as wifi. The size of the kitchen may surprise you but it is just big enough to make coffee in the morning, store your wine and cheese and even prepare a light meal but also has a dishwasher. The dining table seats four comfortably, and the couch/sitting area is very inviting. Top that with an amazing bakery just outside the door, Chez Janoud, down the street and the Place des Voges less than five minutes from the door. As an opera lover, I couldn't have been happier as I was able to walk to and from L'Opera de Bastille. I spent three weeks here last year, and two weeks this year. I look forward to staying there again.
the apartment is within walking distance to the Bastille,The Louvre, Musee Carnavalet et Picasso, Notre Dame Cathedral , the Seine and Gare de Lyon
