Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

You have found one of the BEST places in the NORTH GA MOUNTAINS! Tranquility Place will be even better in person. Our cabin is nestled in the woods on top of a gentle knoll with the mountains in the distance.

It is bordered by a couple of gentle ravines and a creek. We offer a wonderful flat approach (less than 2 miles from HWY 441), plentiful paved parking for 3-4 cars, much outdoor space for kids to play or grownups to enjoy the privacy of the wooded area. Inside, the kitchen is upscale and wonderfully stocked and can accommodate a large family.

We have a spacious family room with 2 living areas, a queen sleeper sofa, gas logs, a 50'' wall mounted flat screen TV with satellite TV/DVD and wireless internet. The all wood floors, tongue and groove heart pine walls and ceilings provide the extra warmth that only a mountain hideaway can provide. The bedrooms are so so spacious; the master offers a king bed and double bed. The queen bedroom has space for our electric inflatable queen bed.

Our furnishings are newer and nicer than most. We are offering you a stay in a very nice mountain home, not a rustic old cabin. We also have listing #100514 in Clayton on Screamer Mountain.

About The Owner

We are a family of 5 that have always loved the outdoors, especially the north Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains and Rabun County

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2009

Why The Owner chose Lake Rabun

There is no better place on earth to us than the mountains of north GA/Rabun Co. We will never have enough time to see all the waterfalls, visit all the trails, climb all the mountains, see all we can of the Chattooga River - but over the next so many years we will try. For us, Rabun County is so easy to get to from our home in northeast Atlanta. Once we are there, the worries of life in the city is so far away. We love the simplicity of life in Clayton but still enjoy the wonderful local restaurants and shops. We hope you will make it your vacation home with us too as much as you can!

What makes this cabin unique

Fabulous place to get away and refuel either as a couple, family, with friends, or alone. We offer most modern conveniences such as wireless wifi and satellite tv but also offer a most private setting to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is a great cabin! Betsy thought of everything you could possibly need, especially in the kitchen. A woman after my owner heart with plenty of linens for the bathroom. The cabin is very clean, spacious and cozy. We used it for a romantic week, but there's plenty of room for a family getaway. I especially loved to sit on the screen porch enjoying my coffee in the morning. We were just minutes away from Clayton and were within an hour to 90 minutes to lots of fun things to do including the Smokey Mountains. We went river rafting in South Carolina, zip lining in Georgia, horseback riding, jeep riding and a great train ride in the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. I highly recommend this cabin and this area!

Betsy goes above and beyond with the setup of her cabin. It is clean, comfortable, and in a great location. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. We are planning a trip back soon!

Our second home when in Clayton... Love this cabin and owner!

  • 5 of 5

My family has rented this cabin about 4 or more times and we love it. We also have rented owner's other cabin and can recommend it too. Tranquility is the perfect description of this cabin. So peaceful, so cozy, so well stocked with all the comforts of home and then some. I almost hate to write a review as dont want our secret let out :) The owner is terrific to work with and always makes sure you have the best experience.

Definitely a great cabin to rent... Just dont rent it when we want to come back :)

Wonder Romantic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I spent our first anniversary here and we both absolutely loved it. The cabin is very cozy with a rustic feel while still offering all the modern day conveniences we're used to(wifi, satellite tv,etc). The location is great with many good restaurants close by as well as numerous sightseeing opportunities! If ever back in the area I would stay here again and I highly recommend it to anyone. The homeowner was very easy to deal with through the entire booking process and made many great suggestions for places to eat. I was very satisfied with the overall experience.

Just what we needed to re-charge!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Tranquility Place. It was exactly what we needed... an escape from the city and the summer heat! It was so nice to come home to this fantastic cabin after some outdoor adventure at Tallulah Gorge State Park. We had everything we needed to rest our hiker feet and unwind. We enjoyed the cooler mountain temperatures by dining out on the screened porch for every meal during our stay. We would highly recommend this property and hope to go back someday!

Great Family Vacation Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this cabin over the week of 4th of July. My wife loved the cabin (she felt like she was at a B&B!) and let's just say she's a very "discerning" critic when it comes to vacation rentals. The cabin was clean, VERY well stocked, and a great fit for our family of four. The location was convenient (just a couple minutes off 441). Access to Tellulah Gorge was only 10 minutes to the south. Black Rock Mountain State Park is just 15-20 minutes to the north. We also found Chatooga Belle Farms in South Carolina which was a short 30 or so minutes away and a great place to take the kids to pick various fruits and enjoy an amazing view of the mountains in the distance. We would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Betsy was also very responsive and professional.
