Overview

About the property

Apartment, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This 120 m2, 3 bedroom apartment belongs to a movie producer. He travels most of his time.

It is a bright apartment (7 large windows) perfectly located, rue Nicolas Flamel, in a quiet and charming pedestrian district in “Le marais”. It is located on the 3rd floor (4th floor to US standards). Design is unique : a mix a glamorous decoration (living room, bedroom, bathroom), British style (office), French café (kitchen), and the classical French Haussmannian style of the original apartment style. Without being luxury, the mixed decoration gives the apartment a lot of charm.

If you are looking for charm, 3 bedrooms, an exceptional location, go for this apt which offers a great deal for money compared to apartments of similar size and locations.

It offers nice views over beautiful French style stone buildings and a suspended garden. The 2 bathrooms are a plus.

As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and australia are generaly free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. More over, calls to cell phones towards specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators.

Located in a calm and safe street, 1 mn walking distance from the Museum of Modern Art (Beaubourg), it is surrounded with middle age dated narrow streets full of restaurants and shops.

You will find a mix of cultural attractions, hype bars and night life, fancy clothes stores and traditional architecture. The “Seine” is 3 mn walking distance. In summer, enjoy the “Paris plage” attraction when the Seine banks are transformed in sand beaches and cultural attractions (music, sports , events …).

Located in the center of Paris, you will be at 10 mn of most of the interesting spots, using at will the following subway stations: Chatelet, Hotel de Ville, Les Halles.

Last but not least, it is a great deal for the money.

About The Owner

In Beau Paris is a Vacation Rental Agency operating in Paris for more than 10 years.

We manage close to 100 apartments in Paris, all of very good to luxury standard.

We take care of the advertising of apartments, the reservation process from payments to security deposit refund; and even the cleaning and the maintenance of the apartment.

We would be very happy to host you in one of our apartments that you will find on VRBO Listing #26870.

We do very little brand name advertisement. We focus on what matters: MAKING SURE OUR GUESTS ARE SATISFIED (check the reviews on any of our apts. Recent apts do not have reviews yet).

We believe it is the best way to develop our activities which have been growing steadily every year. You are welcome to try our service.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2000

Why The Owner chose Paris Arr. 4 (Marais, Hotel de Ville)

We selected this property because of its perfect location in a charming Marais area and the apartment unique design and brightness.

It is the main residence of the owner. He rents when going to his secondary residence. For a guest, renting a main residence is a warranty of high quality : it is always maintained at top level. Obvioulsy, the owner puts away personal belonging. There is more than enough space available for guests.

WE DO CARE ABOUT PROPERTIES WE MANAGE.

What makes this apartment unique

We know searching for an apartment can be a nightmare :

that is why, from beginning of your search to the end of your stay, you will have REAL PEOPLE INTERACTING WITH YOU, not automatic mailing or automatic booking.

WE ARE PROFESSIONALS.

We answer to each request and send a detailed quote & contract on each request. We believe the instant quote given on the site is not precise enough for a guest to book an apt.

We react fast, be it by mail (often in the hour, max 24h, we have evening shift), Immediatly by phone. Note we do not take booking on the phone nor discuss prices or availability, risk of mistake is too high. E-mail is much more secure & precise. We nevertheless are happy to answer specific questions.

During your stay, we are always available. We can advise you on how to use the apt. We run a night emergency line, for real emergencies :-). When problem arise, we do our best to solve them, quickly.

We want our guest to have the best memories of their stay. We have a high rate of returning guests : it seems they do.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Bonjour. Last year my family and I rented the Flamel apartment from you for the month of September. We all loved it so much! My girls, who are 19 and 17, have fallen in love with Paris and wish to continue to pursue their language study there. We are interested in renting a studio apartment for them for approximately 3 months so that they can attend language school. They would arrive approximately February 1 and stay for approximately 90 days. Our preferred location for them is in the Marais and second, in the Latin Quarter. The school they are planning to attend is in the Marais (actually just around the corner from the Flamel apartment on Blvd de Sebastopol). Would you have any studio apartments available during that time for them? If not, do you have any other ideas for us?

Thank you for your assistance.

Fantastic location for the major sites

  • 5 of 5

Family of 5, 3 children under 12 years old. An amazing location for this quirky, typical, old Parisienne apartment - walking distance to Louvre, Notre Dame and Pompidou centre and Chatelet Metro/RER within 5 minutes walk. A selection of local bars/restaurants by the entrance, but didn't have a problem with noise. Well stocked local supermarket and a boulangerie 2 minutes walk away. The apartment owner responded quickly to questions and arranged a late check-in through the very helpful and friendly housekeeper. Would definitely stay again.

Great stay, great location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was exactly what our family of 5 required for a stay in Paris. With 4 adults and 1 teen in the mix, we appreciated the rare two bathrooms and the three bedroom arrangement. We used the kitchen daily and found it adequately supplied. We also used the washer to refresh our wardrobes half way into a 2-week trip. The beds and linens were comfortable, although pillows were typically French (thinner and not as many as most American use). Perhaps one of the greatest assets of the apartment is the location. So close to shops and cafes and attractions and public transit. Easy to get to the left bank or venture deeper into the charming Marais. And while the nightlight was bustling, we never had difficulty with noise level interfering with sleep. Yes, the apartment is older and a bit eccentric, but the value was great. I would definitely return if travelling with a large group.

A truly Parisian Experience

  • 5 of 5

Myriam greeted us at the apartment for our early check in. She speaks flawless English and explained how to use the appliances and directed us to the local grocery. she was a delight.

Our family of 5, Parents and kids (ages 14, 17, and 21) booked this apartment for one week for our trip to Paris.

The apartment is in a great neighborhood and close to two good Metro Stops - Hotel Deville and La Halle (which also has trains.), and it is close to grocery stores, bakeries, and many restaurants. The neighborhood is lively at night sometimes when there are revelers, so it can get a little bit noisy.

There are three bedrooms and the owner will configure the beds to your specifications. There is a futon in one of the living areas that could accommodate more sleepers.

There are three bath areas. The first is a toilet that is off of the kitchen. The second is a tub with shower combo with a toilet that was having some plumbing issues. The third was a stand up shower and sink combination. The kitchen had a small stove/dishwasher combo, a full size refrigerator, and a large sink. There is a clothes washer, which I used everyday because it was hot in Paris and we had to do a lot of sweaty laundry. But there is no clothes dryer - which is typical in most Paris apartments - so you dry your clothes on a clothes rack - plan accordingly!

There is no air conditioning - again typical for a Paris apartment, but there are beautiful original marble fireplaces in each bedroom and each of the two living areas along with plenty of heaters. The original hardwood floors look very "original." This is definitely a shabby chic kind of place - which I love.

The owner, being a director, costumer and artist has an eclectic decor and the study area which contains the WIFI router could be considered cluttered by some - but not by me! It was a delight of Paris and shabby chic decor. I loved it!

The ceilings are about 15 feet high, the curtains are as long, and each bedroom has an armoir for your clothes.

THERE IS NO ELEVATOR (LIFT)! You must scale three flights of stairs to get to the apartment and these are serious stairs. So, plan on getting a good thigh and glut workout.

Overall I give this place 5 STARS because for the price it is a really good value and our kids could enjoy life as Parisians. If you want an elevator and American amenities, this may not be the place for you. But for us it was perfect.

Home away from Home

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was so far beyond our expectations. It was well equipped with appliances, decorated stylishly, clean, and spacious. It truly had a warm and inviting feeling like a home away from home. The neighborhood was quiet and safe and we felt truly Parisian staying there. The corner Patisserie saw me in the morning and the evening and the landlord was more than kind and helpful as my french is not very good. I am already planning my next visit and there is no where else in Paris I would be willing to stay. I am grateful to have had the pleasure to stay here on my holiday and I am thankful for your willingness to rent such a gem.

Owner's Response: Hi Kim, Thank you so much for such an enthusiastic review. Many of our guests love the charm of this large apartment. It is hard to find such a large apartment in Le Marais, so close to “Beaubourg” Museum, “Notre Dame Cathedral”, “The Louvre” …. All of them love the location. We will be happy to welcome you gain. Do mention that you already stayed in the apt, we will do your best to be flexible. Sincerely Jean-Noel

Right in the heart of it all.

  • 4 of 5

This apartment was right in the middle of a residential/shopping area literally 2 blocks from the Chatalet/Les Halles Metro station. These stations have EVERY line run through them making them a hub for getting to and from anywhere in Paris a breeze. This includes the RER B line which runs from Orly or CDG right into the heart of Paris with no train change!

There are 2 grocery stores around the corner (Carrefour and Monop), which is very convenient (note: alcohol is not sold after 9PM...plan accordingly).

The apartment gets a lot of noise from the boisterous revelers in the bars and night clubs that are in the immediate streets surrounding the apartment, particularly when they let out at closing time. Bring ear plugs if this bothers you.

The property was clean and well maintained (albeit in a gentle state of gentle use) and provides wifi. Sheets/pillows/towels all provided and of good quality.

The property manager (Jean-Noel) was available by email and responded quickly to queries (remember the time difference 9 hours ahead from PST; 6 from EST).

The lease signing and paypal payment went well. We sent photos of our passports as jpegs...went fine.

Anticipating the return of my security deposit (also via paypal).

The check in is at 2PM. The only snafu we ran into is that I received an email (during my transatlantic flight) telling me that I could check in at 10 A; did not get that until I checked my email IN the apartment but the manager came straight away after we called and he let us in at the appointed check in time (230p).

I will warn that the water pressure is not very good. Showers had to be taken one at a time (in the different bathrooms). One of the WC is in the kitchen (!), which seems odd but maybe its location has more to do with the plumbing than anything else.

Washer (no dryer but a fan and a drying rack), dishwasher (used it as drying rack), oven and stove, microwave, fridge/freezer lots of basic kitchen battery. 3 different coffee makers (plunge, drip, nespresso style...did not work) and a hot water kettle. Lots of serving platters, china, glasses, cutlery etc.

It would be helpful to know when garbage day is so that we could take it out.

My companions and I really enjoyed the apartment apart from the water pressure (which we now laugh about). I would definitely keep this apartment of my list of potentials (I have rented one other apartment in St Germain which did NOT have this level of Metro service).

Owner's Response: Dear Carlos, Thank you for your detailed review. Reviews do help us to improve the quality of our guests stay. We quickly solved the weak pressure water. A faucet was left half open by the maintenance people who had checked the hot water tank before your stay. We told Myriam, the person who welcomes guests, to make sure to precise where to bring the trash bags ( on ground floor in big green tanks). You are the first to mention noise to us in many years. One bedroom is on the courtyard side. District is lively but there are no nightclubs down in the street and the street is pedestrian. No car noise. Two restaurants at the end of the street should not be too noisy. I suppose you must have left windows open during the night : then one hears the city noise. The windows being double glazed they seem to have been good enough at stopping noise for the other guest we had. No other review mentioned this. Finaly thanks for mentioning the place was clean and well maintained. Sincerely Jean-Noel
