About Lyne Vaillancourt
We were looking for a place to put our feet up from this crazy and fast life that we live in. One day, as I was taking a walk down the street with a friend I saw this little run down house. I just had to have it. It needed lots of work and lots of love but we bought this house because of the location and character it brings out from all of us.
Lyne Vaillancourt purchased this House in 2009
Why Lyne Vaillancourt chose East Kootenay F
This house is located in Dutch Creek Community set on the mountain side with many paths and near the Dutch creek river. The sound of the birds and the creek in the morning and the evening is very southing and relaxing to us. The atmosphere is so peaceful and very warming every time we visit. All the wild life activity is so amazing to watch and takes you to another world all together. You soon forget what life is like in the big city.
What makes this House unique
Some fines will triple under amended wildfire laws 3/10/2016 12:05 PM VICTORIA - The B.C. government is taking a tougher stand to discourage behaviour that contributes to increased wildfire risks, to help protect communities, natural resources and infrastructure from wildfire damage. Additional legislative changes will result in significantly increased ticket fines for 19 different violations under the Wildfire Act and for seven different violations under Wildfire Regulation. These changes mean that British Columbia now has some of the highest wildfire-related violation ticket fines in the country. For example, the fine for failing to comply with a fire restriction under the Wildfire Act is increasing from $345 (including a $45 victim surcharge) to $1,150 (including a $150 victim surcharge). This represents a 333.33% increase over the old fine for that offence.

Great family getaway
Well stcked, great location. The kids loved climbing the mountain in the back.
The only thing we weren’t thrilled about was shoveling our way in.
I am very happy to hear that you have enjoyed your stay!
Although, I am very disappointed that the property manager had not shoveled the path to the house prior to your arrival and I do appreciate you letting us know.
In the future please do call us immediately and we could have had someone there in 5 minutes.
Happy New Year to you and your family and we hope to see you again in the near future!
We had a great time at this rental property
This was our second time staying at this property.Lynn had provided clear instructions of what we need to bring extra and that was great.I have already recommended my friends to book this place in future for very comfortable and peaceful vacation.
Thank you so much, we totally appreciate your kind words.
Hope to see you again!
Pictures don't do it justice the place is awesome
The place is awesome very spacious and comfortable. Quiet area with a wicked restaurant less then 5 minutes away that has one of the best pizzas I've ever had
Thank you! Glad you had an amazing time,
SUPER CLEAN - FAMILY FRIENDLY - GREAT LOCATION
This home is in a great location - off the beaten path, but just minutes by car from Fairmont and all its attractions. It was perfect for our large family of 12, as there is lots of space - main floor, basement and large decks for everyone to spread out and enjoy. . The kitchen had everything we needed and more, with nice stainless appliances. Overall, the house was VERY CLEAN which we truly appreciated! We enjoyed the community pool being at our disposal as well - great added bonus! We would have really appreciated the use of a washer and dryer, especially travelling with little ones, as we had to travel all the way to Invermere. When asking guests to strip beds at the end of stay, I would feel better knowing that the mattress covers and duvet covers also had been washed. The plug-ins in the main bathroom didn't seem to work. Other than those small things --- it was just great! We wouldn't hesitate to book here again. Thankyou for sharing your cute home with us!
Thank you so much for your kind words.
I also appreciate the note about the switch in the main bathroom, we will definitely look into that issue.
As for the mattress pads and duvets they also get washed, we ask that they stay in place so we know which one goes where for the tight schedule we have to turn the place in less than 5 hours for our next guess.
We take pride in how clean our cabin is for all of our guests.
Hope to see you again!
Wonderful and spacious house for group gatherings!
Lyne's house was perfect for a long weekend getaway with a large group. We all had enough room and the house and property were very well maintained and stocked! We used the community pool and tennis courts which was an unexpected bonus, a little small but we enjoyed it all the same. Would highly recommend!!
Thank you so much for your kind words, we always look forward to any feedback you may have. I do agree the community pool is meant to be small for the community. But still very enjoyable in the heat of the day! Hope to see you again in the near future, Lyne
Wonderful family vacation home!
I would give 4.5 stars but the app doesn't allow for that. The house was lovely and very clean. There was room for our whole family to sleep comfortably. We are a family of 7 + 2 grandchildren aged 1 and 3. There were 3 lovely bathrooms as well which were perfect.
The kitchen was spacious with a large fridge for all of our supplies. The ice machine was great! A tremendous amount of cupboard space as well. Excellent appliances.
Proximity to Fairmont and Columbia Lake was fantastic. Very quiet and friendly neighbourhood. We really enjoyed Tilley Memorial Park in Canal Flats. Lyne (the homeowner) was so wonderful to work with.
If you are looking for a lovely home to spend time with family in while enjoying the Columbia Valley this is a good choice.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we truly appreciate you taking the time to say a few words.
We hope to see you again in the near future, enjoy the rest of your summer!
