About Lyne Vaillancourt

We were looking for a place to put our feet up from this crazy and fast life that we live in. One day, as I was taking a walk down the street with a friend I saw this little run down house. I just had to have it. It needed lots of work and lots of love but we bought this house because of the location and character it brings out from all of us.

Lyne Vaillancourt purchased this house in 2009

Why Lyne Vaillancourt chose British Columbia Rockies

This house is located in Dutch Creek Community set on the mountain side with many paths and near the Dutch creek river. The sound of the birds and the creek in the morning and the evening is very southing and relaxing to us. The atmosphere is so peaceful and very warming every time we visit. All the wild life activity is so amazing to watch and takes you to another world all together. You soon forget what life is like in the big city.

What makes this house unique

Some fines will triple under amended wildfire laws

3/10/2016 12:05 PM

VICTORIA - The B.C. government is taking a tougher stand to discourage behaviour that contributes to increased wildfire risks, to help protect communities, natural resources and infrastructure from wildfire damage.

Additional legislative changes will result in significantly increased ticket fines for 19 different violations under the Wildfire Act and for seven different violations under Wildfire Regulation. These changes mean that British Columbia now has some of the highest wildfire-related violation ticket fines in the country.

For example, the fine for failing to comply with a fire restriction under the Wildfire Act is increasing from $345 (including a $45 victim surcharge) to $1,150 (including a $150 victim surcharge). This represents a 333.33% increase over the old fine for that offence.

Hi Lyne.

Sorry for taking so long to write you. Things were crazy after we returned...

Lovely BC Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the weekend with our extended family to celebrate a small family wedding. It was a great cabin to share with so many people, because it offered a lot of space for each individual family to have their own area. The house is really clean and well organized. Furnished nicely, with most everything that you might need. We spent a beautiful evening outside enjoying a barbeque, on the deck . Unfortunately there was a fireban when we were there, otherwise we would have loved to sit around the firepit in the back one evening. The kids had a great time. Lots of space to play inside and out.

The only thing that we would have liked to see, would have been more paper products such as kleenex and paper towels, as well maybe some plastic wrap would have been nice to have. If you were to stay longer with kids, a washer and dryer are always welcome. Otherwise, the only other issue that we had was that one of our party had serious enviornmental allergies, and found that the downstairs bedroom was too damp, and she ended up sleeping in another bedroom.

We had a great weekend with our family, and would definately recommend staying at this cabin.

We loved the Fairmont Hot Springs Chalet!

  • 4 of 5

We were a large family staying at the chalet. The place was perfect for our needs - easy to get to, but quiet, spacious and cozy.

The kitchen was well equipped and had (almost) everything. It was clean.

We really enjoyed the outside as well and the whole area was great. There is a nice walk down to the river with a maze someone local built there.

There were no issues with any of the amenities or equipment.

The pool table was a bonus.

We recommend this property for large families or anyone!

A beautiful place in a quiet neighborhood. Would recommend this place.

A wonderful place for our family reunion. The beds were really comfortable but the mattresses on the sleeper sofas were very thin and uncomfortable. There was lots of room for the whole family and the outdoor space was great.Kitchen was well equipped.Needs new light bulbs in master bedroom(ceiling fixture) and night lights.Overall a great place and I would recommend it to all.

The cabin is beautifully situated in the tall pine trees in the little Dutch Creek community.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is clean, well maintained, very nicely appointed and decorated with a full compliment of utensils, amenities and linens. The beds were very comfortable in the bedrooms but the pull out sofa bed mattresses were very poor. They were fine for our stay because we used them for children under the age of 9 but for an adult they would have been extremely uncomfortable. We really enjoyed having 3 bathrooms and lots of space for the kids and adults to enjoy separately! The outdoor deck, furniture, screened tent over the table and the fire pit were perfect and we used them every day. The swimming pool/activity area was perfect for our families and we used those a lot as well. The location worked nicely for us as we have family in Invermere so the drive to Fairmont for the hot springs and ice cream and to the beach in Invermere was easy. The owner was good at responding to our questions both by phone and emails and we would recommend this property as a great family get away.

Great Ski vacation at this Cozy Cabin! :)

  • 4 of 5

Our group was a party of 8 (4 couples) and we spent 8 days at this cabin for New Years Eve from Dec 26th until Jan 3rd 2016. The property is exactly as described and as you can see it in pictures. Owners are quick to assist with any questions, inquiries or assistance requests. It's a cozy, quiet, comfortable cabin in the woods. Excellent for relaxing, chilling by the electric fireplace, unwind. Amenities are close by. Ski hills were in close proximity as well, a couple of them less then 30 min. away and few more 1-2 hours away. One of the hot springs is only 5 minutes away … very convenient. The cabin has most of the amenities you need. Beds are all comfortable. We would have liked to have access to the laundry washer and dryer, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Please be aware the hot water runs out pretty fast with 8 adults showering at the same time… it takes a bit of scheduling. :) And if you rent it in winter please be aware that the heating system is a bit noisy in the basement bedroom. Overall an excellent cabin recommended for any length of time.
