About Charlotte Cameron

I am retired living in the Washington DC area where I am on the board of several non-profit organizations. I enjoy the performing arts - especially classical music, as well as the visual arts. Hiking to waterfalls and enjoying the Brevard Music Festival are highlights of my time at "Charlaire".

Charlotte Cameron purchased this house in 2008

Why Charlotte Cameron chose Brevard

I spent 8 summers at camp in Brevard and have always wanted to come back. Connestee Falls has all I could want for a vacation and retirement home with its retreat-like atmosphere, friendly community, and numerous activities. Brevard, and its surrounds, offers mountain sports, culture, cuisine, arts and crafts, performing arts.

What makes this house unique

Sunset mountain view, quiet peaceful environment, comfort and beauty of a luxury home, multiple seating areas, comfortable beds and sofas, easy access to hiking trails with waterfalls, access to clubhouse with restaurant, swimming, tennis and golf. Well located for vacation activities in nearby towns, national forests and state parks.

Annual Hiking Trip Base

  • 5 of 5

Each year we rent a house in western NC for our 3 couple hiking trip. The house and view were everything we desired. (If we had nothing to complain about, everything must have been ideal.) The Connestee Falls location allowed us to add tennis, pickleball and golf to our week. So, we enjoyed a very active week.

Beautifully furnished home with magnificent view of North Carolina mountains.

  • 5 of 5

This house is in a great location and has many great features including a nicely furnished deck from which we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets over the mountains. The house is perfect for entertaining guests with three bedrooms, two baths and a bonus room (with twin beds) upstairs. The kitchen has all the utensils to prepare and serve a meal for a large party. It was perfect for me to entertain different groups of family members and friends for a number of days. I cannot imagine that I could find a better home to rent - I am planning a return stay next year.

Exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week. The house was like new, furnished and decorated beautifully. The pictures on the VRBO website don't do it justice. The view from the deck is spectacular.

Our agent(Pat Noland) made the whole rental process simple and easy.

You will not be disappointed if you choose this one for your vacation .

Comfortable and well appointed "home away from home"...

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed our nearly two week stay at this fabulous modern home in Connestee Falls. We took advantage of many of the amenities including tennis, hiking trails, fitness center and clubhouse dining. Additionally, we had easy access to many nearby natural attractions such as DuPont State Forest, Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock, as well as the shopping and dining in Brevard. This home is clean, well appointed, and comfortable. We enjoyed family meals prepared from the well equipped kitchen and savored the peaceful sunrises (yes, despite the western view, the sunrises were beautiful too!), sunsets, and even a gorgeous rain storm or two off the stretch of the deck along the back of the home. Arrival and departure were easy thanks to the hospitable owner.

Beautiful Home, beautiful mountains, all you could ask for.

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from "Charlaire" for a New Years trip to the mountains. The home is beautiful and has a very "comfy" feeling, very clean and well maintained. Both owner and manager were pleasure to work with. The beds are awesome and plenty of them. The guys loved the office and called it their man cave. The main floor half bath was a real plus and we were able to park in the garage which doesn't usually happen in a rental. We spent a lot of time sitting in front of the fireplace and just hanging out. We saw deer every day, and even saw a "white Squirrel" in Brevard. The hiking trails in the community are really well maintained and the falls are spectacular. We were able to easily make trips to Beech Mountain for skiing, Asheville, and Dupont Forest(multiple beautiful falls on well maintained trails). In Brevard, we recommend Mayberry's for the short rib grilled cheese. We ate there two times and took sandwiches to go when we were leaving to return home. We cooked at the house most of the time in the well stocked kitchen, everything you will ever need is there. All in all this was a wonderful trip in a beautiful place. This home is definitely on our "return to" list.

Gorgeous up-to-date home!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed there for a week the end of July. There were 8 of us and we had more than enough space. We have stayed at many vacation homes in many different places. This was, by far, the cleanest, most well-maintained home we have rented. The first room we saw upon entering is the kitchen. The appliances are top of the line. My husband LOVED the flat top on the range! The counter tops are lovely and we took notice of the uniqueness of the counter top and sink in the half bath. The great room has a very grand feeling with the large fireplace. We ate all of our meals at the dining room table off the kitchen. The bedrooms are very spacious with extremely comfortable beds. I did notice all of the art work/paintings throughout the entire home. Maybe the owner is an artist? My son and his cousin took the bonus room above the garage. They had their own little "boy-cave"! My daughter had the bedroom upstairs with the view of the mountains. She looked so tiny in the king sized princess bed! The master bedroom and bathroom was AmAzInG!! I think its larger than our home in Ohio! Now let me mention the view off the back deck...Breathtaking!! I dont think I could ever get tired of looking at those spectacular mountains. Every 15 minutes the colors and and view changes. My dad had "his favorite" chair on the deck. I wonder how much time he spent sitting there. So nice to see him relaxing and soaking in the peacefulness of nature. The Connesstee Falls area is unlike any area I've ever stayed in before. The hikes around the area and the waterfalls are like something out of another world. The trails are well taken care of and you can sense the love that goes into keeping them accessible. My husband and I fell in love with the whole Brevard area. Thank-you for allowing us to make more family memories in your wonderful home! I would recommend this home to everyone who wants to get their moneys worth and more!
