Overview

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, Bunk Area, 2 Baths, mountain decor, in upper moonridge

If you're looking for that secluded get away far from the noise and stresses of the city, Klamath Cabin is the place for you. It's hard to believe this lovely and quiet cabin in the middle of the woods is just a few minutes from the village, the lake and the famous local ski resorts. This lovely Big Bear Cabin is warm and inviting, the perfect place to shed your cares, get alone with that important someone or to relax after a day of skiing, boating, fishing, or just strolling through the Village window shopping.

If you have a large party, Klamath Cabin can easily manage that for you as well. With two king sized beds plus 3 single size beds and 3 double size beds including a sofa bed in the living room, the cabin easily provides plenty space for a private staff planning session, getting together with some old school friends, or for a small church retreat.

And, there's plenty to do without leaving the cabin. There's the cozy living room with a huge leather sectional and recliner surrounding the classic stone fireplace and big screen TV. There's the fully appointed kitchen with all you'll need to prepare a cup of coffee or a full family dinner. The deck out back faces the canyon where you can enjoy some hot chocolate on a brisk morning or spend some time in the six-seater spa on a warm summer evening. There's the player piano for evening enjoyment and the large breakfast nook for cards and board games. There's even a full size archade game and air hockey.

The cabin itself is fully appointed in a traditional rustic motif beginning with shingled siding, a roomy wooden front porch and a large rear deck. Inside, the walls are knotty pine, and there are hardwood floors in the kitchen, breakfast nook, and laundry room. The living room and bedrooms all have carpeted floors to keep your feet warm and cozy at night.

Klamath Cabin in Big Bear is only one among so few cabins which provide comfort, seclusion, quiet, and convenience. This cabin is a real find, and it's pet friendly.

Here is what some of our recent guests have had to say about Klamath:

Absolutely love this place...it was my birthday vacation and I had the best time of my life! Not only was the view beautiful from being covered in pure fresh snow each morning, but it was so peaceful! And I didn't need to bring anything except for food and clothes. When it was time to vacate it was a bitter sweet emotion! But this birthday trip is one that I will cherish forever! Thank you for making me feel right at home!!!

-Lashanda

Very pleased with the cabin, nice area and well equipped house with everything necessary, would recommend to friends. Thanks for the gift bag of some goods, they were quite helpful. Will contact you first whenever will plan another visit to Big Bear.

We had a great stay at the Klamath cabin. the Owners were extremely accommodating and made our trip planning simple and easy. The house is immaculate and very well maintained. The cabin is furnished very nicely. The weather did not cooperate during our stay, but we had just as much fun hanging out in the cabin. Thank you very much!

-Andrew

Great place for all of our needs

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect choice for my mom who is 90 and needed handicap access. The parking lot was street level and the access to the main floor was directly across. You entered and to your left was a laundry room, then a master bath and master bedroom. to the center was the stairs down to the lower level with a king bed without the other bedroom 3 bunkbeds there was a bathroom for use between the rooms. There was also an exit door. I suggest if you have little ones bring a child gate to restrict access on the stairs. Each room has a tv but the only ones used were the upstairs tv's. The living room was nice and spacious with sliding door to the deck. On the deck was the spa. With the view there was no cabins level except next door so it feels very private. The TV was apparently not working in the living room but the owners contacted us to tell us and replaced it before we even noticed. The kitchen was well equipped but a bit cramped for the dining. We sat 6 but any more than that will have to sit outside or at the bar. Everything was so clean when we arrived and the refrigerator is huge, enough to keep all of your food cold. The master bath seemed to be a spa tub but we forgot to ask if the tub/shower was handicap accessible, so beware it is not. The location is way up the streets in Moonridge and we did not really mind. We just took the truck to hike the north side and then the next day we took the bikes to the bike trail. On the way we dropped off the trash each day. They were kind enough to allow us to bring our 2 dogs and although there was not a fenced yard it was easy enough to take them for a walk.

Very cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My Book Club had our Annual Retreat here and there were 7 girls and 1 dog. We were very comfortable here. We stayed in March and it rained; no snow :( BUT, the cabin was super cozy and we spent our whole entire weekend indoors playing games and sharing stories. It could be due to our sense of directions, but it was really hard to find the place at night. We finally learned the trick, which is to follow the "Evacuation" signs posted all around. We would recommend this place and would definitely stay again if we had another retreat in BB.

Fantastic cabin- perfect for our families!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter’s first comment when we arrived was “Wow! Even better than the pictures”. There was more than enough space for the 8 of us, yet it felt very cozy. Kids loved making forts with the bunk beds & we all enjoyed the jacuzzi & fire place after the snow. The old school video game machine was also a big hit! The whole experience was smooth & comfortable; a great, easy setting for a wonderful family vacation!

Disappointed

  • 1 of 5

Doors to the bathroom are not closing properly, shower curtains are torn up, tub not draining properly, exhaust fan not working

Overall the house needs to be clean better, very dusty and the carpet should be shampoo.

We found the airbed but no way to pump it up because the pump don't have battery.

The house feels cleaner when we check out than when we checked in.

Owner's Response: This puzzling review was received on Christmas day. We do our best to make sure all our guests enjoy their stay at our home because it's a time away from their daily lives to relax, enjoy each other and have fun in Big Bear. 1. "Doors to the bathroom are not closing properly." With myself and the cleaner each on a side of the doors, we closed them, opened them, locked them, pushed and pulled on them....they work fine. 2. "shower curtains are torn up" One of the inner plastic liners (not the outside decorative shower curtain) had a small rip at the bottom. A replacement had been ordered and has since been installed. 3. "exhaust fan not working" There are 2 exhaust fans in the house. One in the lower bathroom and one over the stove. They both turn on and off by their respective switches and operate fine. 4. "Overall the house needs to be clean better, very dusty" Our cleaning crew cleans the house thoroughly after each group. 5. "the carpet should be shampoo" Due to the popularity of our house, the number of people walking on the carpet and its light color requires it to be professionally cleaned on a regular basis. With so many holiday reservations leaving at 11am and more coming at 4pm, we were a week behind in the scheduled carpet cleaning. 6. "We found the airbed but no way to pump it up because the pump don't have battery." There are always 2 airbeds stored in the laundry room. They are the type that plug into a wall outlet. We do not provide battery operated airbeds. 7. "The house feels cleaner when we check out than when we checked in." I wish it had been cleaner after they left, then I would not have had to pay the cleaning crew to clean it. As is stated in our contract, if guests find any issues that are not right, contact us immediately and we will correct them. We received no communication from these guests until this odd review was posted. We would have gladly come to the house and corrected any problems because our goal is that all our guests have a great time.
