About Rebecca O'Dwyer
New Orleans native, spent summers in the 'Pass' growing up.
Rebecca O'Dwyer purchased this House in 1906
Why Rebecca O'Dwyer chose Pass Christian
My grandparents bought this property in the early 1900's.. My grandfather had the cabin build in the 1920's. Teddy Roosevelt visited a part of the property in about 1915, that part was added in 1969 to the original plot, it is mentioned in Roosevelt's diaries.
What makes this House unique
Just sitting in the pool on a hot evening talking and looking at the stars. Some mornings in the spring or fall there is very heavy fog on the beach, beautiful for photographing. The sunrises and sunsets especially in the winter months can be fantastic, when the sun rises and sets over the water. Walking on the beach, especially in the winter months, when you have the beach to yourself and can commune with the sea birds. Birding in the garden especially during the fall and spring migration. The birds are gathering in the fall to gain strength before they set off over the Gulf. One visitor commented in our guestbook at the house on how excited they were to see so many Bluebirds in the garden. There are always birds, just many more during the migration. Come and add to your life list.

The property absolutely has the potential to be perfectly wonderful. The area and property itself are lovely. Had the amenities been clean I would've enjoyed the experience immensely. Unfortunately the pool was unusable until the morning we left, the house had a bug problem, and many aspects of the inside of the house needed a much more thorough cleaning. I am NOT a person that requires a spot-free clean, but I was left feeling uncomfortable because of the state of the cabin.
I was terribly disappointed.
Great spot to get away from it all.
The property was perfect for escaping for reality without being far off the grid.
Relaxation at it's finest
This is a lovely dog friendly house with the perfect yard for dogs and their people. It is quaint and picturesque. We love it.
Great smaller, but very comfortable house on an amazing large private property! House was great, the pool was a nice addition and the views of the gulf in the distance where perfect!! The kids loved it & we will definitely be back again!
Beautiful property - great getaway
So enjoyed a relaxing extended weekend. The property is beautiful, the pool was nice, unfortunately the water was a little too cold to take advantage of it.
Pleasantly surprised with all of the extras in the house, you truly need to just bring your clothes and groceries. The kitchen is well stocked with items needed... we brought all of our amenities and most of the kitchen items but would have did fine without them...
I read the reviews regarding the train and honestly it wasn’t that bad.. no complaints and would definitely recommend to a friend and certainly looking forward to staying again.
This is my favorite place to stay. So relaxing. My pups love it. Visiting my home town couldn't be easier than staying here.
WARNING: Map location is not accurate we are on the beach. The entrance is on the street one block off the beach. If you go down to the Harbor you can buy fish, shrimp and oysters. Super fresh but you might have to clean the fish.
