We want your visit to leave you feeling like you have a home away from home - so we pay extra attention to the 'small stuff'. Our cabin is a rustic mountain cabin that is comfortably furnished. The cozy loft has a queen size lodge pole pine bed, tv and small sitting area. The down stairs has an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, lots of windows, tv, and a river rock backdrop for the wood burning stove.
The kitchen is fully furnished with all the amenities we can imagine you might need. The living room has a futon sofa and futon chair providing comfort not only for watching tv but also additional sleeping options.
The cabin has a wonderful feeling of seclusion & privacy. Surrounded by nature, perched on the hillside with its wraparound deck you feel like you are in a treehouse. While you lounge on the deck you can enjoy watching your four legged friends chase the squirrels.
After a day of watching the antics of the local wildlife you can grill dinner and enjoy it on the deck as you watch the sunset. Follow this with a soak in the hot tub while star gazing, and surely your cares will melt away.
Charming Idyllwild is a short, scenic 5 minute drive from the cabin. There you will find many shopping opportunities and various international cuisine options. Our favorite is Cafe Aroma. While in town make sure you check out the many acclaimed art galleries.
Let the granite out cropping named Taquitz by the local Indians of Idyllwild's past lure you into its shadow and move you with its ancient lore. You can also take advantage of the many hiking and mountain biking trails in the area or just kick back and catch a movie at the Rustic Theatre.
Idyllwild is home to the reknown Idyllwild Arts Academy, Jazz Fest, Lemon Lilly Festival, and the annual Memorial Day weekend town wide garage sales.
We are both psychotherapists. We understand from a personal and professional level the importance of self care and for us that comes from communing with nature. Living in the city life can get pretty stressful but in a short hour and a half drive we can be walking with our jack russell in the mountains. We know the importance of being able to travel with your pets. We don't go many places without ours so we offer that to our guests.
Cathie purchased this cabin in 2004
And as for the town of Idyllwild - there is no other like it. It's a gem that has escaped the crowds of Big Bear and Arrowhead. It is so accessible to L.A. and San Diego yet feels like another universe. We're amazed that it is so 'unknown'. John Muir was quoted as saying 'The view from San Jacinto is the most sublime speptical to be found anywhere on this earth.'
We bought the very first property we looked at. There was no reason to look any further! As our spa guy says 'I service many of the properties up here and there is just no view like yours!' Both the view and the seclusion are unrivaled! The property is at the end of a small side road with only 4 cabins on it. A short hike puts you at the edge of the National Forest and lots of secluded hiking opportunities. We love taking our pooch to run the nearby trails. We find that the privacy and stellar views make the 5 minute drive to town more than worth it!
I’m so glad my mom’s brought me here! I had never seen a squirrel before! I hope they bring me back soon.
Superb Sunset views and cosy, comfy. Hade a great time
This cabin is an old fashioned rustic setting. The owner is great to deal with. It is a quite, quaint setting.
I needed only a one night rental for my boyfriends 50th Birthday. Usually, cabins rent for two nights. Cathie was so nice and honored one night for me. I offered to clean the place too and she even waved my cleaning fee. She also returned my deposit very quickly back into my account. Her place was so beautiful and peaceful. We did manage to see a friendly ghost while sitting in the hot tub, but that just added to the fun. It was very private and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. We ended up staying downstairs as the stairs were to the upstairs bedroom, were a little scary to climb. Especially, after having too many cocktails :) The stairs were safe but if you have any knee problems or and health issues with your legs, plan to sleep downstairs. The futon was really comfy. The fireplace kept us warm all night. I give this place 5 stars! The stove and fridge are pretty small, but if you are anything like us, we found it easier to go grab food in town. This place was perfect for two people but could easily satisfy 4 people total. Good times here! Thanks Cathie for making our trip memorable. We appreciate you! We loved your pie in the sky private property! Hot tub and fireplace was a huge bonus. Thanks again. We look forward to come back.
We had such a wonderful time. Cabin was perched atop a very secluded road at the peak of the mountain with amazing views of the surrounding ridges. Great location: close to town but also some of the most amazing hikes. We particularly enjoyed the extensive porch space with grill and hot tub. We will definitely be coming here again soon!
My fiancee and I and our two big dogs spent two nights in the Stellar Summit Cabin. Cathie was easy to work with and professional. The place is cute, cozy, and fun- at the top of a road with nice views, tons of deck space, and birds galore. Fenced deck for the dogs made life easy. The pull-down stairs to the bedroom are a fun touch. The hot tub was clean, the kitchen was reasonably-equipped and the bed was comfy for a cabin bed.
We had such a great time coming to this cabin for my husbands birthday! We wanted somewhere that we could relax away from it all and this definitely fit the bill. The deck is wonderful with a cozy hot tub and a spectacular view. The cabin has everything that we could need and was such a wonderful get away just being together an enjoying nature. My only criticism is that some of the minor maintenance issues like broken tiles in the shower and a badly deteriorating hot tub cover need to be attended to. That being said, none of those minor issues affected our experience. We will definitely be back!
Ideal vacation spot for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of nature.
