Sublime Hollyhock house vacation

  • 5 of 5

There are not enough superlatives in the OED to define our experience at the Hollyhock House. The hosts are genuinely hospitable, the lush gardens are teeming with beauty, the kitchen (stocked with staples for cooking)is a dream come true, the period house retains its 1780s feel with all the technical modern conveniences, the 5 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms were a godsend, the precisely ironed bedsheets were a taste of old world luxury, and the location —including ample parking—was spot on for exploring the hubbub while having a sense of privacy with a ample private outdoor space. Well done, Peter and John, well done.

Beautiful, a tasteful blend of old and new

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed at Hollyhock House for New Years Eve weekend and it was a privilege! We were all charmed instantly upon walking into the door. The owners, who are just delightful, were there to greet us and answer any questions. The house itself was spacious and immaculately kept. What struck us in particular was that the aspects one most wants to be modern (kitchen, bathrooms, etc.) were, but the colonial charm was left intact for the living spaces -- a very tasteful and skillful balancing act in terms of renovation. Speaking of bathrooms, there were 5 of them! This allowed the entire household to be ready to hit Commercial Street (a very short walk) at the same time.

We also were surprised about how well-appointed the house was. Oftentimes you arrive at a vacation rental and the next stop is the store to get whatever you didn't have the foresight to bring. This is not the case here. They had coffee. They had cream. They had ample supply of wine glasses and champagne flutes. They even had extra ice! We had a very positive experience and if you see that this house is available for booking, I strongly urge you to go for it. You'll be glad you did, we certainly were!

Perfect Location! Perfect Size!

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for a girls bachelorette weekend and couldn't have been more impressed! The location is perfect. A very short walk from the ferry, around the corner from all the action but quiet enough to relax. The house is super cute and charming. There were 7 women and plenty of space. Beds are very comfortable. A/C and ceiling fans. Love the kitchen! Much better than renting a couple hotel rooms! Extremely clean! Peter was the perfect host. He even drove us and our luggage to the ferry in the pouring rain on Sunday. I have absolutely no complaints! I can't wait to come back!

Great House & Great Location

  • 5 of 5

The house is very nicely decorated and updated. The location is steps away from Commercial Street, but feels much further away and more private. Peter was a pleasure to deal with and accommodated us with some timing issues we had with check in. All in all a great rental experience. Would definitely look to stay here again the next time I travel to Provincetown.

Perfect Location!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Hollyhock House for Memorial Weekend 2014. Location, Location, Location!! Perfectly situated on Bradford Street located in the center of town. 5 minute walk to anywhere on Commercial Street. Peter was a great host. The house was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need from bottled water, extra paper towels & toilet paper to a full spice cabinet for cooking needs. There were 8 girls for the weekend, so the fact that there were 5 bathrooms was a major plus! Anyone who has been to Provincetown knows the parking hassle that goes along with it - not at this house. The driveway that parked 4 vehicles was probably the most convenient thing about this house, besides the location. Peter was fabulous - only a text message away if we needed something, while also giving us complete privacy for the weekend. Will definitely be staying here again next time!! Thanks for the great weekend!!

Great House!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with 7 friends over July 4th and we had a great time. The house is really charming with an old Cape Cod feel, but with modern amenities and fully renovated kitchen and bathroom. There were 8 of us in the house, but with 4 bedrooms and 5 full bathrooms, we had no issues at all with space. The living area and dining area were perfect for our group. Most of the bedrooms were on the smaller side, but each has a queen bed and each has it's own bathroom, so the set up is really ideal for a larger group. The kitchen is fully stocked with all cooking supplies, and the back yard and grill area were a great amenity to have. The location on Bradford is centrally located and within walking distance to everything Provincetown has to offer.

Most importantly, our hosts were very accommodating and a complete pleasure to work with. Peter greeted us when we arrived and walked us through the house. They live next door but were not at all intrusive, yet completely available should we need anything. Highly recommended.
