Incredible Location

  • 5 of 5

If you want to stay in the historic center, this is THE location. It's one block away from Piazza Navona, where all day and night long everyone, tourists and locals alike, hang out and stroll around. The street the apartment is on is very happening, with many restaurants and shops to choose from. The living room window opens to the street so you can have some excellent people watching and wine drinking from the comfort of the apartment. The apartment was very clean, the bedroom bed comfortable, and the kitchenette adequate for making small meals. Although the apartment is on a busy street and people are out at all hours, the bedroom window opens up to the apartment courtyard which is quiet and peaceful. The owner is easy to get in touch with, and waited for us almost an hour to show up to let us in the apartment as we were late due to trying to make sense of Rome's bus system! Speaking of buses, the apartment is right next to a major bus stop on Corso Victorio Emmanuele, so it's easy to get wherever you want to go (once you figure out the Roman transportation system, of course). Two things to keep in mind about this apartment- one, the bathrooms are downstairs from the living and bedroom areas. For me normally this wouldn't be an issue, but being eight months pregnant it was difficult to walk up and down the narrow stairs several times every night, so keep that in mind for elderly or disabled guests. Two, there is no WiFi. You can't even "borrow" from neighbors or businesses. The listing states both of these, but just be aware in case either of these points are important to you. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay here very much, and were sorry to leave.

What a fantastic apartment and location. The apartment is of the highest quality with exquisite interior decorations. At times you don't want to leave the apartment enjoying/absorbing it's atmosphere. Once you do step out you couldn't be in a better location to explore Rome. You are within walking distance of all the major sites. But the most impressive aspect of the location is you are immersed with the locals. Strongly Recommended.

We had a delighful stay at Alessando's apartment. He and Domittilla were very helpful,, even arranging a pick up form the Airport to and from the aparment at a very reasonable price.

It is in the most fabulous area, close to all main attactions and a 4 minute walk to the beautiful Piazza Navonna.. Every nearby street had it own character and something wonderful to take in and was far from the the huge crowds. Lots of wonderful places to eat and drink. Some beautiful shops in the Street.and good value.. I will recomend it to my friends travelling to Rome.

Excellent clean apartment

  • 5 of 5

The apartment on via governo vecchio was ideal for our needs. We have a small child and we wanted to be near the center of Rome, and being one block away from Piazza Navona was terrific. Rome can feel pretty hectic with a one year old - but rather than feeling trapped in an apartment - my wife and I always felt near the action. Also Domitilla who looks after the apartment really went the extra mile: in addition to setting us up with a baby cot (what we call a pack n play) she also made sure that we got a cab to the airport with a babyseat (not an easy feat in rome).

I'd definitely rent this apartment again - which was clean and well set up - or any apartment from Alessandro, the owner.
